Thanks for the video, very informative. Buyers beware though: the 180 days battery life is very misleading. If your doorbell faces any high traffic/motion areas, such as the street, you're going to have to replace/recharge the battery every month! That's nuts! I want to find a way to jury-rig this thing to use a DC adapter, but the use of a battery pack instead of exposed batteries makes this tricky for me. If I can't get this done, it's going to sour my experience with Tapo and I'd be unlikely to buy a lot more of their devices to integrate into my home. TP-Link loves batteries. :(

I have installed mine for two months and it's at 76%, so far so good for the 6 months battery life. Have you thought of using the privacy zone to block out the traffic areas on the camera's view? It's under Video & Display settings.

What makes it worse is that tp link does not sell replacement or spare battery in most countries including mine.
