As of July 1, 2024, the project to expand National Road No. 7 from Skun roundabout to Kampong Cham provincial town has achieved about 20% of the construction with 85% of the impact. This is according to the words of Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, during the National Fish Day July 1 ceremony in Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province.
The 45-kilometer stretch of National Road No. 7, which will be widened from two lanes to four lanes, opened on January 9, 2023 under a concessional loan of more than $ 100 million from the Chinese government.
Please be informed that this project to expand and upgrade the quality of National Road No. 7 was built by China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) with a construction period of 40 months and is scheduled to be completed in 2026 at a total cost of 117 million US dollars, a concessional loan from The Government of the People's Republic of China and the contribution of the Royal Government of Cambodia to address the impact of demining, unexploded ordnance and other taxes.
