Love the factory performance coming out recently from HD but man 8K for an engine is big ouch. Would love to see what this 135 could do in a softail frame.
@@Brieken90 FM doesn’t include heads or SE or S&S cam plate or oil pump though. Nor does FM have this new crank. Once you through in the cost actual ported heads, whether SE or any body who’s upgraded the springs and valves the cost is comparable. That’s why no builder whether S&S, Fuel Moto or Zippers has uttered any negatives comments about the SE 131 kit or 135 crate engine.
With everyone focusing on performance it makes sense for HD to do it. How many crate engines have been sold at your dealership? I think that would be an interesting video for you to do.
I considered a 131 Stage IV kit instead of a 135 Crate Engine replacement. Is a 131 now cheaper since the 135 is being produced? The wait for my area in Pennsylvania for a 135 is likely up to December or later when it is officially released for here compared to scheduling a 131 kit upgrade next week. I am just trying to weigh my options. Looking for any comments, thoughts, or suggestions from anyone.
I don’t think the 131 price will go down but I could be wrong. You could also have someone help you put parts together that would make more Hp and more tq than a crate 131.
Emissions compliant (EPA) but what about for us California customers? Is there C.A.R.B. compliant E.O. number yet or ? Thanks, much appreciated! Tom M., So. Cal. '23 RG-ST
Professional guy dad of 2 young kids, elderly parents, love bikes, own 4 and saved another $$ bunch for my next... To the points big time is important!!
The pricing is simply wild. The labour cost will bump it to over $10k most likely if you don't know how to do it. If you decide to use non-HD parts to get the most possible out of this kit on top, you will comfortably be at that price. Despite this criticism, the numbers are very sweet. Incredible that they can keep itching out even more power.
Just think if you were to put that 135ci engine into a Street Bob. With a S&S 590 cam, a two into one exhaust and a Dynojet power vision. Just think of what the numbers would say.
The price is steep, but so is the cost of a new Harley, personally i will wait another year or 2 when my Street Glide is a couple years old and this may be a great option to buying a new bike
and i just saw a 2022 RG that had the 131 crate engine dealer installed…owner took it out for first run and the OEM transmission basically grenaded because it wasn’t meant for that powerful an engine…..
Harleys are a rather rare sight in my country, so I've never had an opportunity to get "up close and personal" with one. Anyway, from what I can see from the photos and videos of these crate engines, even when they increase the displacement and power, the size and number of cooling fins seems to remain the same. Isn't that a bit counter productive? I mean, my 2 cents of engineering tell me that when you increase the power of a thermal engine, the waste heat that it produces also increases, so you must account for that with more cooling. And I don't think just adding an oil radiator solves the problem. Could someone with more Harley mechanics savy clarify that?
Oh I'm sure. I've seen 120's make as much or more. In HD's defense their hands are tied with EPA stuff. It's a good plug and play option for some but a lot of us like to hand pick each part and make it our own. Any issues with your S&S? I know some guys seem to have bullet proof engines from them and some have issues. Also heavily depends on who does your work.
Boy do I have something good in the works for you!! Gonna take a little time but WELL worth the wait. Yeah 8k plus labor is gonna be steep for most people. 10k is pretty standard for a big horsepower build though.
I already own a Roadster,a Night Train,a Muscle and a Yamaha FZ6R. I got more than enough power. For 8k I could get me a Yamaha R7 to add to the collection. Nah. No sale from me.
Straight to the point, love it. Better than a dragged out 30 minute video..
Appreciate the love!

@@AeroSS87 Fuel moto complete kits are 1600 even if you figure another 2k in assembly plus a tuner your are around half that for a higher HP motor.
Hell yeah
S&as way more expensive

Do you know why it's only 21 and later touring? What changed since 19?

I'll definitely try to do some digging because I know I've seen a TON of 131's roll out of there.
I'm impressed with your professional presentation. You are a real asset to UA-cam.
I appreciate it
ST comes with 117....perfect power, balance and reliability.

I had a road glide with a stage IV 131ci. Had to sell it last year. What a bummer.
Maybe someday I’ll be able to get another bike.
The price is right especially considering it comes with upgraded valve springs, oil pump and high lift cam.
I love your to the point, mo fluff, no candy coated video. I’m really digging the numbers of the 135 engines…. except the price number.
Appreciate that. With stuff like this I just think people want the bullet points and to go on about their day.

Insane !
Trying to get Timms to do a floor bike so I can ride it! Hahaha

Agree with both points! Good to see some race parts trickle down to the consumer market.
S&S more expensive
You might as well have the $4000.00 RF sound system installed also !
I like my Cardo with speakers in my helmet! haha Saves me about 3,700 also!
Can this engine be put on a road king as well
Are they going to make this powerplant for the softail platform?
I haven't heard one way or another. I'd love to think so though. This would sell very well to the Lowrider S and ST crowd.
Bigger, Badder! Where does it end? This is getting crazy!
Do you know if it fits 2017 road glide?
It has the M8 it will fit.

I thought about it already but it's only for touring bikes for now. Probably best for my wallet. hahaha
Probably twist the frame

If you really want the engine then get it, but me personally I'm perfectly fine with the 114 stage 2
It would be nice if the engine was priced at 5999.00 ?
135 motor with halogen lights! Does it make sense for you?
Hahaha no a bit. I hope they bring some suspension technology over from the race bikes as well.
@@throttleblip9854 pretty please. Brakes too.
Where does it all stop.... 117 is plenty of power for everyday use.
I agree but I don't think it ever stops. lol
That 4 more than the 131
That's the HD way! Now will we see a bump in the other bikes next year? Special models with 117's and ST models with 122's?
How will it pair with the stock tranny? any mods required on the transmission?
In my opinion those numbers are right at the line of needing to beef things up. If it's in the budget, I'd definitely do it.
You better plan on a clutch upgrade, not to mention what it could do to a stock transmission. $$$
Wouldn't be a bad idea haha
If I had 10K I'd do it tomorrow.

Under warranty

Good God that's crazy!!!
Right! After market companies are already making 143’s hahaha
love your video! may i have your mail for some sponsor?
The profits from this engine will surely go toward funding EV bikes...... 107ci or 114ci are more than enough! Exciting news but don't be blindsided!
Can't say you're wrong. My buddy has a 96'' in his Softail and I let him borrow one of my 107 bikes and he thinks it's a rocket lol.
My S&S132 puts out way move HP and Torque lol

Rather spend 8k in the suspension and brakes of any Harley I buy.
Suspension definitely needs an upgrade more than the engines do.
Bad AZ bra
Blair we need some merch man and that motor is nice but almost 8k 😳

I'm ready for it ill definitely be getting something of whatever you're selling
S and S 143 twin cam motor put em all to shame...
It would be nice if Harley allowed a “core” refund of your current engine. Maybe a couple thousand dollars or something.
Forget compliant camshaft etc upgrade the engine itself is not compliant in California….can’t buy em here
