22:18 Funny moment that made everyone laugh and released tension. This is a very good reason elder people should take part in the show. They generally look at life at a different angle than the younger ones - less competitive and more enjoyable I think 🤗 🤗
Just wanted to say thanks. I don't live in the UK anymore and the BBC is blocked here. So I have come depend on your timely uploads - brightens my week hugely. Thanks again.
Thank you op for uploading so swiftly for us outside the UK! I liked Innis Carson's team on Only Connect (he has a fantastic accent) and saw him on the uni challenge documentary from a few years ago where his team failed to qualify, glad to see he finally made it on!
Innis Carson now sets questions for Mastermind, for many years he was a researcher for University Challenge overseeing auditions for contestants wanting to get on the show.
Esa Cosita Resuelta I'm a huge fan of the show watched it for at least a decade and a half and I thought this was actually the hardest us in terms of questions, not complaining though, but normally I would get at least 20, I struggled to get 4.
Ok now I watched. I love the older players generally, just rooting for my side.:) But neither team looks like a champion so far. Not bad questions to my mind, for a starting round, but there were a number of clear misses. (Not that I knew the answers!) Heaton-Armstrong totally 100% amazing on geography.
He's always genial when the teams are good and don't confer forever, always polite, always a gent. Whenever he gives a penalty or pushes people to give their answer, commentators call him a bully, rude, etc., even though that is a quizmaster's job.
I've been watching old ones for ages. One episode a day. Type 'University Challenge S10' and then go up one by one. Some series have only a few episodes. And there are even some with Bamber Gascoigne as quizmaster.
theres a UC video ive been trying to find where a picture round is the lineups for a sporting event. the starter is the 1999 champions league final. if anyone knows this vid, please put the link in the replies. im desperate ngl
He's always being criticised for it, even though he actually interviewed Bowie, and Bowie himself said he wasn't sure how it should be pronounced, being a Scottish name. Bowie even gave a third variant.
I'm pretty ancient + believe in lifelong education and all that, but I'm starting to think that yes, there should be an age limit. Or University Challenge should at least avoid questions on actors whose fame doesn't long outlive them (what was a doddle for me wasn't exactly a huge fail for Edinburgh).
Jack Nailand -with 29000 students Ulster is the largest university on the island of Ireland measured by numbers of students including part time students .Trinity and UCD probably have more full time students .
lcflngn No expectation on who would do better overall since this trivia spans academic knowledge, cultural knowledge, and historical knowledge alike. But as expected, the students rack up points with the academic questions and the adults win out in the historical questions. Anything in the middle can go to either team.
When one speaks English, one pronounces foreign names with the standard English pronunciation. Little more pretentious than people pronouncing, eg, Himalaya with stress on the second syllable, to show off their credentials.
Or three times as long to forget the time when they were force fed as young students, and they had thirty times less access to knowledge- people today don't even have to go to the library to order a book or save up to buy it..the internet is a huge advantage.
So glad we can rely on your brilliant services again Psi. You're a legend.

Me too GMT +2
Thanks again for the upload. A genuine respite from the States.
Oh good, 37 weeks of something more substantial than The Chase of Eddie's Millionaire Hotseat (Australia). And thanks for all your good work.
What a VERY pleasant surprise! Thanks so much-- good to see you-- and the UC-- are back in fine form. :O)
so glad you're posting them again, psimanjuntak, thanks a lot!
It's finally back! Thanks for the upload. This was a reasonably good match to set things off :)
I'm so happy, my life makes sense again! Both teams were great ... Heaton-Armstrong was amazing
What was amazing about him??
He answered lots of questions correctly? What else?
Yh fuuny thing is he works in my school now
Ya. Hes my teacher.
He’s my history teacher
Happy days are here again.
An impressive premiere.
Can't believe its back already. Thanks for uploading.
Haven't even watched yet, so happy to find you back. Thanks so much!
Oh my goodness, I'm so happy it is back!!! Thank you psimanjuntak, you are the best!
So happy to see this! Thanks for posting!

stehngi which documentary, do you have a link?
+lcflngn it's called university challenge:class of 2014 or 2015. along those lines. it's on youtube
Terrific thank you so much I after finishing watching the previous season and did'nt even realise this had started! ::)
It's only been 3 months since the last series ended lol. I'm so glad it's back!!! Now we just need Later with Jools 👌🏼
Innis Carson is a Countdown octochamp and semi-finalist. He was also in the Class of 2014 University Challenge documentary.
kate ritchie was on countdown too
I knew I recognised him from somewhere!! #ubergeek

Here we go again ~ thanks from Canada for the upload.
THANK YOU for posting.
Thank you for these excellent videos, the Edinburgh captain Innis Carson is a very good friend of mine.
Armstrong was my history teacher last year lol
solid starting match. questions seemed a bit easy but a generally good performance from both sides.
Esa Cosita Resuelta I'm a huge fan of the show watched it for at least a decade and a half and I thought this was actually the hardest us in terms of questions, not complaining though, but normally I would get at least 20, I struggled to get 4.
Sam couldn't answer anything. Perhaps wrong type of questions and things will improve next week
I got 9. And all U's at A level.
I scored 3 but the game I play for UC is I only score if I answer it correctly but they fail to answer it ... I think my best ever was around 7-8.
Thank you so much for posting
Thank you, psimanjuntak!
Thank you! You've made us very happy!
great program and great encode
Was waiting eagerly... The only reason I regret not being a part of an English University !!!
Now I'm here and Mr Armstrong is my history teacher
Ok now I watched. I love the older players generally, just rooting for my side.:) But neither team looks like a champion so far. Not bad questions to my mind, for a starting round, but there were a number of clear misses. (Not that I knew the answers!) Heaton-Armstrong totally 100% amazing on geography.
Where's monkman
no
Chaudhri was the real star. Cool as a cucumber
I miss Bobby Seagull
superpanda9810 I missed sheldon cooper aka ralph morley.
In the Hall of Fame
Thank you psimanjuntak!
Thank you for posting 🙆🏻
My boy Miliken lookin like a modern day Grand Maester
Julian Rachele lool thats what i was thinking
Fabulous match!
My imagination - is Paxman coming off a bit more genial?
*Spoiler* It doesn't last...
He's always genial when the teams are good and don't confer forever, always polite, always a gent. Whenever he gives a penalty or pushes people to give their answer, commentators call him a bully, rude, etc., even though that is a quizmaster's job.
Heaton-Armstrong is my History teacher
Same
my r&l teacher
glad to see u again :)
So glad it's back
Yes! Thank you!!
Great match, so many lead swaps.
14 answers from me.
Nice!
for me it makes up for Wimbledon being over but does it mean that autumn is just around the corner?
What's the earliest series on UA-cam ? I just started watching with this episode but want to go as far back as possible
Series 38, I think. Each is independent of the other, so it doesn't really matter where you start
Thanks :)
I've been watching old ones for ages. One episode a day. Type 'University Challenge S10' and then go up one by one. Some series have only a few episodes. And there are even some with Bamber Gascoigne as quizmaster.
It's back!
And so it begins...
wooHoooo !!!!!! thank you :)
theres a UC video ive been trying to find where a picture round is the lineups for a sporting event. the starter is the 1999 champions league final. if anyone knows this vid, please put the link in the replies. im desperate ngl
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore: one of Scorsese's better ones! Glad it got a mention. And glad film is now a regular category...
my history teacher is heaton armstrong lol and i had him today
Paxman still doesn't know how to pronounce Bowie
So annoying when people say Bowie, when everyone knows it's pronounced Bowie.
and that's despite actually interviewing the guy
He's always being criticised for it, even though he actually interviewed Bowie, and Bowie himself said he wasn't sure how it should be pronounced, being a Scottish name. Bowie even gave a third variant.
episode 2?
LAST YEAR'S SEMI FINALISTS, AND EDINBURGH PLAY LIKE THIS?!
good Edinburgh team, but they spoke way to close to the microphones
Bobby Seagull is not my math teacher
I disapprove that old Paxy uses campuses as a plural for campus, much prefer campi.
Thank you psimanjuntak. Should there be an age limit for Uni Challenge - the Ulsterites were so
old. Glad Edinburgh won.
Huzzah! I don't care if the early questions are easy, It's BACK!
No need to boast. Nobody likes a braggart.
Easy? Stop talking shite
HuhIntense the only one i got right was the mr bean theme song
I just love Stanley!
'Ireland's largest university'? You'd think University challenge would have their facts right.
Jack Nailand -with 29000 students Ulster is the largest university on the island of Ireland measured by numbers of students including part time students .Trinity and UCD probably have more full time students .
Guys You know me Armstrong is my school teacher
when are you uploading episode 21
jack did well, heaton armstrong was impressive.
Stone, wow
This challenge can be aptly summarized...
Average Age of 22 versus Average Age of 50
And still, it was so close!
Larry Panozzo Hold up, which would you have expected to do better? I have an opinion, just curious :)
lcflngn No expectation on who would do better overall since this trivia spans academic knowledge, cultural knowledge, and historical knowledge alike. But as expected, the students rack up points with the academic questions and the adults win out in the historical questions. Anything in the middle can go to either team.
Larry Panozzo I feel as though I've seen it go both ways, could easily be wrong though.
There's nothing wrong with Stanley.
Go Innes :)
Acetyl colon-estuary protein?!
Milliken has the sexiest voice I've ever heard
Someone needs a short course in spanish pronunciation.
When one speaks English, one pronounces foreign names with the standard English pronunciation. Little more pretentious than people pronouncing, eg, Himalaya with stress on the second syllable, to show off their credentials.
At last
C'mon u slaagsons
i see they have named a new river-the ganges brahmaputra.
Middle aged teams have had three times as long to absorb knowledge. They shouldn't be allowed on University Challenge.
Or three times as long to forget the time when they were force fed as young students, and they had thirty times less access to knowledge- people today don't even have to go to the library to order a book or save up to buy it..the internet is a huge advantage.
Stone is worth my bone. The rest? Ehh...
She didn't contribute much although some were science related questions. That's a major meh..
back to reality, bet you've never even entered a pub quiz
