Tiago may actually really like the printer. But that doesn't change the fact that this is a 8 minute ad read sponsored by the manufacturers. @davesargent7304
could you elaborate on what you mean by any 3D print will damage a lego mini fig? seems to me that if the tolerances are correct it won't do any damage long term (though I think Tiago has neatly sidestepped the issue by putting some readily available real lego pieces between the figs and the print)
you can print the ikea backboard on your printer!! someone has uploaded it on bambu handy and has soooo many options like 3x3,4x3,4x4,5x5 and larger etc
Taking a router to the picture frame to fit the baseplate makes a lot more sense (and is a lot more satisfying) for those with a router tbh hahahaha. No need for custom pieces with weird tolerances, but I guess the sponsor IS a 3d printing company so this makes sense
Recently brought a Retro space frame off of ebay for all of my partners space themed minifigures. Half the fun of collecting them is trying to figure out display options.
@TiagoCatarino says the Lego guy who just made a video making his own custom legos because Lego doesn't make the right size 😅 what we have here is a paradox, if I've ever seen one 😂
Doing the Lord's work - one STL file at a time. I ended up remixing your Alex drawer design to fit the narrower 5-drawer units and I couldn't be happier with the results - they're going to take me forever to print (for my 10 units) - but in the end - so worth it!
Perfect reminder to get my 3d printer out and make all the speed champions stands Im going to need for the March F1 releases! Nice video Tiago, thank you.
Your solutions are astounding. The custom display frames are truly something to consider. The printed logos literally scream copyright infringement though 🤣
I'd wish! Lego won't do it any time soon and I don't want to spent a lot of my not endless money (sorry Lego) for a baseplate ! Print the plate and spent the money on Lego
Shame 3D printing in general is still pricey in brazil, cuz all these usages makes me want to have my own stuff, lemme tell you. Guess that's how you make a good sponsor lol
They do! On the store website go to the drop down printers menu and from there check the automatic material systems. A lot more expensive to purchase by itself instead of doing it in a combo deal. But then again, the printers by themselves do so much, and I honesly don't use the AMS all that often!
@TiagoCatarino id mainly be getting it to make these lego tools so one color is fine (except if I wanted to make the ruler maybe) but who knows what projects will open up after I get started down this road...
You made some custom pieces for the holes in the ikea white board (skådis). I so happen to have that one hanged up but I’d like to use it for mini figures! Is their any other way to get those pieces to put mini figures on?
I think you need a new hashtag! #tiagoprints :) dude you keep knocking out these great ideas! Can't wait to see what you come up with next. The perfect lego drawer system is underway and it works just beautifully! Absolutely love your work with the bambulab printer!
Just cut a simple lego baseplate with a sharp cutter to meet with the frame of the sannahed is way cheaper than printing for 5 hours.....i have also 3d printers
I'd love to try the X1C!!! The fact that it is more compact when compared to the A1s its a huge selling point for me. How good is the camera to make timelapses?!
First idea this gives is to use lego baseplate as backdrop then 1x2 bricks arranged in same figure pattern but tje 1x2 bricks attach to the back hole of the feet rather than the bottom hole so they're slightly hidden, totally behind the figures ....6:25 😂 yeah just like that!
Hi I have a question for you with you know which is better the A1 or P1P thanks to you I am thinking about buying a 3D printer and I really need your opinion (the printer will also be for my father's work)
I have never tried the P1P or the X1C, but the benefits I see with those are the fact that they seem to take a lot less space, specially if you get the AMS system, that for the P1P/X1C is mounted on top of the printers rather than resting on the sides of the A1 for the AMS lite system. I'm also not to sure if there's any benefits with having the printing area enclosed, or with having a printer that isn't a bed slinger so I can't really speak about those specs, I would have to test it out. But to my understanding both printers are capable of outputting the exact same level of prints, with the A1 being cheaper, and from my personal experience, has never failed me.
Bambu Lab has sent me the combos to use, but the prints highlighted in this video (peg holders and minifigure baseplate) do not require the combo with the AMS system! You’ll only ever need the AMS system to print multi coloured objects like the LEGO ruler for instance! Check my other 3D printing videos if you’re curious!
You gave yourself a bit of unneeded extra work. You could have downloaded software called Studio from BrickLink. It is a virtual Lego building program with perfect 3D models of all the parts. You can even export them as an obj to other programs. You can also create your own bricks like you did for your smaller baseplate.
I think the flat area around the edge is a great addition and will make it look neater and more professional than just a cut base plate. I wish Ikea would produce these in collaboration with Lego. At ikea prices not Lego prices obviously 😂
Why don't you talk with IKEA and LEGO to DESIGN THE PERFECT PRODUCT? I really don't understand. We are in 2025... It should have been done years ago. This is like the Matrix Bug
Depending on the use you get out of it, I think everyone should have a printer at home! It's way too much fun! Took care a lot of Christmas gifts that way as well!

No trial and error. You hit a button and it prints it perfectly! You could possibly hang ALL your minifigures not just 30, revamp your entire LEGO sorting system and print some tools to make LEGO building easier. You could make toys for your kids, support them with school projects, make personalised keychains, sort all of your Christmas gifts, make Christmas decorations, help relatives with their DIY projects, design flower pots, boxes, umbrella holders, cutlery dividers, picture frames, decoration pieces for your house, camera gear, lamps and whatever else you can think of. These are just a few examples of a bunch of non LEGO related projects I used the printers for. For those who grasp its possibilities, 3D printing is an amazing technology.

I'm loving these hobby crossover episodes! This is giving me motivation to clean up my office and fix my printer!!
I genuinely love 3D printing!
Love that you are doing this all open source, and have more iterations, look forward to what you have next!
It's been a bad week for Bambu Lab. Any regrets about diving into a sponsorship with them the same week they overplayed their hand?
That f1 idea is amazing, definitly going to do that!
Have fun!
Any 3D printed Lego piece will damage Lego mini figs so I suggest putting a 2x2 plate down where the legs would connect
Yeah, that's why the pegs are very loose, and I'm using regular LEGO bricks to hold the minifigures with that picture frame baseplate!
If the studs are loose, the Lego figure can't physically be damaged by them.
could you elaborate on what you mean by any 3D print will damage a lego mini fig? seems to me that if the tolerances are correct it won't do any damage long term (though I think Tiago has neatly sidestepped the issue by putting some readily available real lego pieces between the figs and the print)

Awesome! Hope you're enjoying them as much as I am!
Thanks for the idea. But just buy a 10 by 10 frame from somewhere else. It works perfectly without printing or cutting.
As much as I appreciate the effort, just cutting down a baseplate is probably the simpler solution that doesn't damage the pieces either.
You're saying "cutting down a baseplate" and "solution that doesn't damage the pieces" in the same sentence! How does that work?!
