I don't give a damn about what Kendall. If Erica is selfish enough to walk away without even checking to see if her child will live, then Kendall theory about how cold Erica is simply correct. If Erica can walk away from a daughter she 'claimed' to given multiple clean slates, that means she didn't really try from the beginning. Because if she felt even the smallest drop of affection towards Kendall in the beginning, she would just walk away.
I think if the show actually _did_ have Kendall in mortal peril and she was genuinely in danger, Erica would have stayed to see how Kendall was doing because the writers wanted the viewers to root for Erica in this period of time in the Erica vs. Kendall conflict since Kendall was the troublemaker and schemer during this era. As it was, Erica first confirms with Dimitri that Kendall is alive but (correctly) gleans she's pulling another fake-out.
Right as I think Kendall has a good bone in her body, I'm proven otherwise. Erica just roasted her like a marshmallow. Love these episodes with Erica, Dimitri, Kendall, and Anton.
Kendall already was in therapy. Even had Erica offered it, no way would the revenge seeking, vindictive Kendall accept it. She had only one overall mission in SMG's tenure: defeat Erica at any cost. Erica could have cured cancer at that time and yet Kendall would have stilled loathed every fiber in La Kane's being. Don't get me wrong. I LOVED Kendall with SMG (and Alicia Minshew, although hers got over promoted sometimes)
I agree with you. I love that they became so close in later years. During this time period people tended to blame Erica, but Erica tried to get close to Kendall. But all Kendall wanted was revenge. At any cost.
Erica was so selfish. Kendall did a lot of horrible things but she was always lashing out at Erica because Erica never truly accepted her. The way Erica behaves in these scenes is disgraceful. Kendall is Erica's daughter whether she wants to disown her or admit her part in why Kendall behaves like she does. Erica did more than her own share of nasty rotten things to others throughout her years in Pine Valley but she acts so high and mighty.
She coulda done better, sure... but she didn't give Kendall up for no good reason. She had loving, adoptive parents, and of COURSE she'd feel drawn to who she came from... but it's still more complex than finding the one who "did wrong" in a situation.Dunno what I'd do in either position, myself. :P

Why Erica was such a “beloved” and popular character is beyond me. She’s extremely narcissistic it’s nauseating and she never changed. It’s the reason Kendall behaves the way she does. I know soaps are very dramatic and not real life but the mental health issues in this episode in particular are dealt with in a very irresponsible, ignorant and dangerous way. Looking back at it now, I don’t know how I watched this show at all.
I forgot this is the episode where Trevor proposed to Janet (or Laurel really lol) Wilma is figuring Jane out more and more. Even though she's an awful mother, she is Janet's mother and would eventually figure it out. Yep, look at Anton once again falling for Kendall's tricks like a good lapdog. Like I said, I don't get why they bother with him. He never learns and they also kill me blaming Kendall when Anton acts like a spineless idiot over her, it's not just Kendall at fault. Can't keep making excuses for some idiot that falls for the same trick over and over again. "I think Anton is finally done with Kendall this time." Yeah, this is only the third time in the last few episodes he's thought that. So sick of the whole town victimizing Anton RMFE. Erica turning away is a little cold BUT Kendall has done insanely cruel and destructive things to Erica, her family, and EVERYONE. Plus, as usual this was just another psychotic and desperate ploy to have her poodle Anton crawl back to her so *shrugs* Like I said Erica accepted Kendall as her daughter when she came to town and Kendall kept lying and doing things to hurt her for no reason (like bringing her pedophile rapist father to town, kidnapping Bianca, and almost getting her molested. Lying that Dimitri raped her and committing perjury to try and send Erica to prison aren't much better) Kendall is a sociopath and like Erica said, don't give in cause that is what the desperate wacko wants. My god, what is so good about Anton for Kendall to continue to DEGRADE herself this much? I'm so sick of seeing it, this is ridiculous.
