I believe it will be higher than 70% of sales to be electric by 2030. Within 5 years or so the idea of spending a lot of money on a diesel vehicle will be considered risky and foolish. Battery tech is advancing at an incredibly fast pace, today’s batteries will be considered obsolete in 2030.

Well done Volvo for being ahead of the pack by officially releasing their range of zero emission vehicles. But…… they need to complete that release by taking a brave pill and talking prices.
in the UK it takes 5 years to convert a stretch of motorway to a smart motorway.... How is the road infrastructure like services going to cope with up to 70% of nearly 500,000 HGVs currently registered running here being electric and needing their batteries recharged in a 9 hour daily reduced rest? It's a good idea but I cant see it being viable in only 8 years.
Well, for volvo there isn't a silver bullet.
Battery electric trucks works for local haulage, which is their intended purpose.
So from shipping centers to cities/towns were most goods are driven during set hours.
So the truck can charge during those off hours.
Then volvo have hydrogen and bio diesel as future investments for long haulage, when refuelning is a thing to worry about.
