Albeit it’s still mostly kids who believe it, but we all believed it at some point. Don’t spoil the magic for them
Tbh the original Ben Drowned is the best creepypasta in my opinion. I tried reading other popular ones but they are all really generic and focus more on gore and people dying in gruesome ways and most of the time it's all so exagerated that it takes the magic away and you can't take seriously. That's the difference with BD, it's scary and it's made in a way that makes it believable, it's not hard to get immerse and thing "shit this could be real!". It's not about some lone shaft in the woods, it's about a guy playing a game everyone knows. That's what's so cool about.
And yes, I'm an adult, I'm very aware this is a story and an ARG, but reading all the entries, specially of the first arc gets me so scared that I can't move from my room to the kitchen without freaking out lol.
@@satsujin4027 Ben Drowned is awesome because it doesn't rely on grotesque or gory imagery to be scary. The thing that makes it terrifying in my opinion is playing on the idea of a malicious entity that wants to harm you expressing itself through a video game (we thought it was Ben at first, but now it's the father). I think it's much more psychologically scary

I remember watching these old creepypasta videos at 2am on one Weekend hiding under the covers thinking these creepypastas existed while I heard strange creepy noises in my kitchen but it was just my refrigerator or my dishwasher, while than breeze of wind came through my open window, i heard something in my Garage, but it was just something falling, I’d run to my parents bed room and wake up my dad saying I heard something fall outside, he went to go look he had a flashlight and a pocket knife with him, he chose not to bring his gun but I didn’t know why I went with him just in case, he didn’t see anything but just our typical junk in there we all saw and he realized a raccoon ran in and knocked over a old computer we had, I ran back in the house because I didn’t want to get bit but he wasn’t that much of a vicious raccoon it ran away and he had ran back inside and I went back inside to just watch some normal videos instead and fall asleep.
