I do analyze aspects to the Asc and MC, and the great majority of astrologers also do. Therefore, the grand trine involving 2 planets and the MC is a legitimate grand trine.

For example, Jupiter rules Sagittarius. In the ancient system of rulerships (which is becoming more popular among modern astrologers) Jupiter also rules Sagittarius. See the table in this PDF file to see the details.

+David Cochrane Great video as always. Quick question about a theory I've been thinking about. Looking at Robert's 12th house cusp and the conjunction between Uranus and Saturn in Gemini, does the conjunction help to pull Uranus into the 12th house or is Uranus a clear cut case of 11th house. I have a stellium in Capricorn with the 6th house starting in Capricorn at it's 5th degree. My moon is on the 5th degree, my Saturn the 2nd degree, my Uranus the 1st degree and Neptune on the other end in the 10th degree. Given that the 6th house slices the 4 planets into 2 and 2 and the moon being conjunct the 6th house cusp would the Moon and Neptune pull the stellium conjunction into the 6th house. I know house cusp orbs are a debated topic, but given the stellium, could this play a role in moving the house to encompass those planets which are nearby? Thanks as always!
You are welcome. The first question to me regarding houses is what house system to use. I use Equal Houses. This is not the most popular house system but it is what I use. I also use Equal Houses from the MC. I regard the 12 equal houses as a strict division and nothing gets pulled into another house. However, I don't have any convincing evidence of my belief about this and it is very possible that I am not correct about any of this.

Why would you uphold the ancient rulers in modern times?
We have a new landscape of the universe so why is it necessary to pretend the earth is still flat etc - while we know better...
There are Vedic astrologers and also practitioners of ancient western astrology who use the ancient rulers and they consult hundreds of clients every year. They have greater expertise in these astrological systems than I do and I respect their opinion. I am not willing to a priori dismiss their ideas.
I am a practitioner of Vibrational Astrology and I do not use rulers of zodiac signs at all, but rulerships may be a valid idea. Like all astrologers I use a small subset of astrological ideas mostly because I have not mastered other ideas and not because I am certain that they do not work.

+Warda Khan This is not surprising. Many modern astrologers believe that the ruler of the 7th house cusp is important. In my opinion, the aspect patterns in Vibrational Astrology reveal more about the real drives, talents, and issues.
