Judging by the first look it’s going to be an instant evergreen classic. At this point I wouldn’t even mind a fever dream if it was directed by Masaaki Yuasa.
The climax of all of his shows( devilman crybaby, ping pong, most of eizouken and all of kaiba) are essentially fever dreams. He's got that artistic chaos aesthetic perfectly nailed down, and this movie seems like the natural evolution of his style.
@@samlogan-warshaw300 no, you're not right. The artstyle is great I just somehow wasn't that invested in the story halfway through. People have different interests and tastes, so what if Kaiba is not my favourite.
There are moments in this movie where i got pangs of “oh my god incredible” like I’d normally have for a Miyazaki feature. Can we just say Yuasa is IN HIS BAG!!!!!!! And CONTINUES to be!!!
The animation is beautiful and the story was amazing, even got a little teary-eyed in the end. The music was awesome, it had sooo much energy behind them.
yuasa's been my favourite director for a long time. while a bit was lost in translation due to not really knowing japanese history and mythology, the final musical scene was certified yuasa(tm). amazing.
Loved Yuasa's films since Mindgame, this was like a Feudal Japanese Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny story in all the best ways. And then animated in a way only the master can do.
Blown away by the music, visuals, concept, animation, and sound of this movie. Saw the Mind Game screening with q/a in LA last week, it was great to see this one with so much context and memories fresh in my mind. Yuasa is such a master in collaborative concept and ideas. I was STUNNED by the dancing animations in this movie, in my opinion the hardest possible thing to animate, done so freely and effortlessly here so many times. If you’re doubting seeing this one AT ALL, please go all in and see it wherever/if you can!! You wont regret a theater experience!
This is a Masterpiece, a true masterpiece. For a while now I've been delving into the Heike Monogatari, and the way the story is told and referred to is astounding. I would even go so far as to say that Inu Oh's father might be based on the terrifying, tyrannical figure of Taira no Kyomori.
holy hellllllll this looks amazing. The trailer was also really well done. Can't wait to see this one in theaters (hopefully I can keep up with Yuas's s dialogue)
This film and Little Nicholas are my top foreign/independent animated films to get an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 95th Academy Awards.
Masaaki Yuasa does it again, huh. I'm not going to lie, I didn't watch much of his stuff at first until Devilman Crybaby, but let me just say, I am so sad that I didn't discover this wonderful mind sooner. Everything he puts out or works on always ends up being quite fantastic. I've watched this trailer three times in a row and I have a feeling I'll continue to watch it daily until I get to see this on the big screen.
i had the chance to watch this on theater and its a fucking masterpiece, god, this is one of those film you have to see on big screen. its a whole experience
I saw this on Netflix last night. It was as the Netflix put it, Visually Stunning!! The story, animation and music are like a magical dream! I am definitely going to check out his other work. They deserve the highest award for this film! 🏆
Great, powerful, beautiful, super, awesome, my words are too short I cannot explain my feeling after I have seen this musical animation movie. Moreover story is amazing. I love Japanese animation since I used to live in Japanm and now I 'm sooooooo happy to see this Yuasa's film also in The Netherlands.
The music in the trailer sounds like a mix between Ghost (the japanese band), Boris and Koenjihyakkei, beautiful and breathtaking. And Masaaki Yuasa is beyond awesome
I have come across this on Hulu and I have watched it in both Subbed and Dubbed. Honestly, it's a beautiful rock musical with precious leads. ^^ And I recently learned about Avu-chan and they are amazing!
Oh my fucking God The amount of coincidence that I happen to see this right now when I'm talking with my friend about different vintage animes and newer current animes that think outside of the box and then I find that he's making a new movie. What the hell?!!! I'm so happy right now I am jumping up and down!
Doctor Strange: this doesn’t make any sense Ancient One: not everything does. Not everything has to. Was I confused sometimes by this movie? Yea. But that doesn’t mean I have to dislike it. I see it as art where you just go with the gut feeling you get from viewing
So now we have a movie about a man who dreams of being a rock star and teams up with a Japanese elephant man, and they go on an adventure to make their dreams come true. What will they think of next? Hopefully, something good.
I never knew I needed a hard rock shamisen movie from Masaaki Yuasa, but I do.
It's a biwa rocker!
As much as I love the shamisen, I'm sorry to tell you that this movie is a hard rock biwa movie
It’s not a shami…
I hope he keeps making movies without restraint
He’s an absolute treasure

You say that like he hasn’t already directed multiple fever dreams
clearly you havent seen mind game lmfao
@@Yakotrick I've pretty much seen everything by him and the only one I didn't enjoy much was Kaiba. I meant an actual fever dream not a movie.

本当に素晴らしいので全人類観てください。
Saw this last night and I was blown away. The music was astounding and the visuals were like a fever dream
YUASA!!!! SO EXCITED!! This better be a worldwide release. This man deserves to be at the oscars as much as Miyazaki does
There are moments in this movie where i got pangs of “oh my god incredible” like I’d normally have for a Miyazaki feature. Can we just say Yuasa is IN HIS BAG!!!!!!! And CONTINUES to be!!!
Masaaki Yuasa is an underrated genius.. Definitely watching this!!!
He'll eventually be remembered as one of the GOATs, some of us just caught on early.
He's quite acclaimed so this is a strange comment.
The animation is beautiful and the story was amazing, even got a little teary-eyed in the end. The music was awesome, it had sooo much energy behind them.
I knew that voice sounded familiar. Excited for Avu-chan and as always anything Masaaki Yuasa does.
I came across Inu-Oh on Hulu by chance, and I'm so happy I did, it's amazing - almost literally mind-blowing. Thank you for giving life to Inu-Oh!
予告めちゃくちゃカッコいい✨✨✨
日本に住んでるんですけど…こんな感じでもっとやってほしかった😂
そして映画は最高でしたよ♫

*You know a movie is awesome when you come to see its trailer 😎*
Saw this in the theater and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.
Same just saw it today. It was incredible.
This is the best anime I’ve ever watched, what a brilliant cinematography!! It really gives us a very special cinématique experience
Let's goooooooo, i wish more studio embrace this stylistic and experimental art style more... it looks satisfying imo.
I don't know what I just watched, but I do know I want to see more.

Su trabajo me parece muy superior al de Miyazaki. Quizás solo Hideaki Anno este a su nivel actualmente

Saw it in Angouleme, the best animated film you'll see this year
This give me serious Firefly Forest and Samurai Champloo mixed with 80's rock band vibes and I am honestly excited for that kind of energy
The drugs chapter of samurai champloo was directed by Masaki yuaasa
@@montajedelespectador that's amazing. That makes me so excited for this movie!

Okay the jam sessions with the shamisen is everything ❤❤❤
Biwa not shamisen

Now the important question is... where the hell can I watch this? And don't say theaters cause this is never gonna play anywhere near me
