Wow that was a really bad storm 😳 Such a pretty campground and I love the lakes…me and hubby both love water 😁 We have some plants too growing…one pot of cat nip and one pot of cat grass lol well some other things too…I mentioned the most important ones first lol
Thank you Elva! Yes the catnip and cat grass are the most important ones! LoL. Yes that storm was quite scary. We heard it but luckily, other than it knocking down a tree branch at the next site, we didn't have any problems. We found out about the damage two days later and we were surprised by it. We think it might have been a small tornado or something similar. This campground is so pretty and I also love the water. Thank you Elva
My goodness its a big place, and very nicely kept...I'm glad you two have this camp to work and camp out...I can see that Sal would be tired when he gets home...thank you for showing g us, I had no idea....you take good care, all of yoh...🤗
The park is much bigger with more camping sections than I had realized. That was a bad storm. I hope the people whose trailer was ruined had good insurance on it.
Oh yes it's quite big. Those people were able to get another camper. Luckily they weren't in it when it happened. It was actually two spots away from where we used to camp. So when I said two, three, four as I turned, it was the second one. As for the storm it was quite scary. They had been predicting thunderstorms that day and the time frame kept moving to a later time by a few hours. Sal had gone to the store and had just returned and I had the windows open and I heard a strange whooshing sound. Henry got scared and jumped off the bed and I hollered to Sal asking him what it had been. It knocked a tree branch off the tree one campsite over and then went down the hill to the other section where we used to camp. We didn't find out about the damage until a couple of days later and that's when I took the pictures. We figured it must have been a small tornado or something. I don't think it could have been a dust devil to do that kind of damage.
Wow that was like a walk down memory lane for me. I remember that first year yall were there and you did a nice walk about. Sharon, I remember you doing the crafts with the kids. Yes wow all those trees down from the storm was scary. Thanks, I really enjoyed this. Sometimes I forget how long I've actually been watching y'all's journey.
I'm not sure why. But it's for the winter. Then in spring they fill the lake again. At the beginning of the season Sal saw a big snapping turtle covered with mud. I think the lake was still empty at that point. I think there's plenty of liquid from snow melting.
Thank you for doing this video! What a picturesque setting in your RV park. The storm footage was a shock when I saw how much damage it did. You definitely were blessed that you didn’t sustain any damage! 🙏🏻
Yes that was quite scary. We heard the whooshing sound and it knocked off a tree branch next to our site and went down the hill. The damaged RV was two sites away from where we camped the first year. We are glad that everyone was ok
Thanks for sharing. My goodness it goes on forever and surprise to see a pool and restaurant.Very nice and beautiful park. Sad to learn the storm that caused that poor family’s home.Sharon do some people live there year round?
Hi Connie. No one lives here year round because the campground closes for the winter but I do think that some people stay here for most of the season. Not too many though. Most people have seasonal sites and they come in on the weekends or during the week.
Such a beautiful camp ground!!! Thanks for the tour, Sharon :) I would stay there in a heart beat. Does Sal all that lawn mowing??? Greetings from AB, Canada. It's Canada Day today with festivities and good food, and weather permitting fireworks. Wishing you a happy 4th of July coming up. ❤
Oh no. He definitely doesn't do any of the mowing. There sure is a lot of grass to mow. They have a maintenance man who does the mowing and Sal does the cleaning. They have a big tractor for mowing. After I drove past the first lake you could see the tractor next to the shelter. Thank you for the 4th of July wishes.
Thank you Iris. It was quite scary. We heard a whoosh and I got scared. It knocked a tree branch off at a campsite next to us and then went to the other part of the park where it did the damage. We figured it must have been a small tornado.
About Damselflies and Dragonflies.... I think you're right, it's a Damselfly. They are smaller and much thinner. Their eyes are well separated, one on each side of the head. The dragonfly is bigger and chuncker body, with huge eyes touching each other.
Thank you for that information. It's nice to talk to someone who is educated about insects. I've sometimes wondered if I should have been an entomologist. I love them. The strange thing is that Sal thinks that damselflies and dragonflies look nothing alike and I think they do and it seems that many people confuse them. He must have a different perception
A lot of people have seasonal sites so they build decks and they leave there RVs here for the winter when the campground shuts down for the winter. Towards the end of the season some people might leave and give their decks away or leave them for the next person who occupies the site
So is what you call a lake is it a dugout pond? I know a pond is what my son calls his dugout. That’s a pretty big camp grounds how many acres is it ? So much beautiful greenery. It’s a very nice place. Thanks for taking us around. Wow that was a bad storm. Take care.
Thank you. That's how they refer to them here, as lakes. One is called Mirror Lake and the other is North Lake. I'm not sure how many acres but it's quite big. It's about a five mile walk from our spot and around the loop and back
A very pretty place to camp and enjoy being outside. Yes, the green color on the water is algae. Please do not let pets drink from that water as it is fatal to pets. Thanks for the tour of a beautiful place. ❤❤😊😊
Oh yes you are correct. I had about an hour and 15 minutes of footage to edit down to 26 minutes. I don't know how some people can make a 45 minute video
They assigned a site the first year but said that we could move. We moved toward the end of the first season to the section where we are now. We were able to pick our site based on what's available. We've been at our current site for almost four seasons now. The largest town near us is Buffalo NY
This was an extremely beautiful video. I loved that you got to get close and personal with the damselfly. I looked up, you were right, damselfly. I thought it was a lace wing, but I know for sure dragonflies have a two or four wing formation. The wings stand out like an air plane. I enjoyed the constant water and the music between fast forwards. Great share and much appreciated. Wow, it must have been scarey in that storm, but glad it didn't seem to damage buildings. I enjoy learning new things. Are you two hosting the camp grounds to stay there? 🤗❤️👍🏽💯
Sal cleans at the campground and I worked here the first year but I just worked the one year. I think Sal has worked five years at this campground. He works full time. Here's a video of what I did here ua-cam.com/video/tMCHkrfvY2Q/v-deo.html Thank you so much

Thank you so much Betty. Yes it sure is pretty and big. It used to be a boy scout camp years ago

Thank you Lori. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and that you've been following us for a long time. I hope that you and yours are doing well.
Just Curious, why do they drain the Lakes? Looks like Fish and Frogs would die with no water in them.

Great Video enjoyed seeing the camp ground.

Damsel fly never seen one they are very pretty
Thank you. I really enjoyed seeing her. It looks like the damselfly is called banded demoiselle.
That was gun Sharon, thank you. So thankful you and Sal are feeling better 🙏❣️❌⭕, Iris and Little One 👋🐾
Oh my word, and thank God no one was injured 🙌
Thank you Iris. It was quite scary. We heard a whoosh and I got scared. It knocked a tree branch off at a campsite next to us and then went to the other part of the park where it did the damage.

That’s a lovely camp ground, I really like all the natural elements, I hope they fill the other lake, moving water is so relaxing!
Oh yes they are both filled. Thank you Valerie!
That is a beautiful area, Sharon!

Being caught in a storm is my biggest fear while on the road or camping....I know that was scary..!!
We do everything we can to avoid being anywhere where there are thunderstorms.
Your campground is HUGE! Do you get to pick your site each year or do they assign it to you? Very nice area, what is the largest town near you?
They assigned a site the first year but said that we could move. We moved toward the end of the first season to the section where we are now. We were able to pick our site based on what's available. We've been at our current site for almost four seasons now. The largest town near us is Buffalo NY

We can't say it on here but you are welcome to send me an email or a message on S & S and the RV Cats Facebook and I will tell you the name
So beautiful!!👋🏻💦 😻😻😻 it was such terrible damage from the storm!😢
Yes that was quite scary. We figured it must have been a little tornado or something similar. We heard the whooshing sound.
