- The Disciples Realized How to Be Clothed With God’s Power Through Ascension Day
The disciples, who witnessed Jesus’ ascension from the Mount of Olives,
realized that without being clothed with the Holy Spirit of God,
the gospel could not be preached throughout the whole world.
Thus, they prayed earnestly for ten days from Ascension Day until the Day of Pentecost,
asking for the Holy Spirit of the former rain.
Why Do the Members of the Church of God Pray Earnestly
From Ascension Day to the Day of Pentecost?
When Elijah defeated the 850 false prophets on Mount Carmel, prayer preceded the victory.
Jesus, Christ Ahnsahnghong, and God the Mother, who came to this earth
for the salvation of mankind, set an example by starting Their work of the gospel
ith early morning prayers every day. Therefore, the members of the Church of God, too,
start their day, gaining spiritual strength through prayer.
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Mark 11:24
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Just as God has shown us an example of faithfully praying before doing anything, prayer is necessary to fulfill God's command to spread the gospel of the new covenant in Samaria and to the ends of the earth. If we have realized how great the power of prayer is through past history, we should diligently pray for the Holy Spirit of the latter rain from Heavenly Father Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother during the week of prayer from Ascension Day to Pentecost. I am grateful to Elohim God for calling me to the Church of God that keeps the feasts according to the teachings of the Bible and giving me the mission to pray and spread the gospel in the name of Heavenly Father Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother, the true saviors.
