If you’re talking to me, I used the jacket last winter. For this winter, I’m considering the vest and hoodie. I’ll probably make another video comparing all three. Lots of comments suggesting the hoodie so I’m anxious to try it out.
@@suburbanacreage yes do those reviews I’m considering the vest for October. I’m hoping it’s kind of dress/casual. So I can still wear it to work functions.👍🏻
@@suburbanacreage the vest might be the very best for retaining heat... have the hoodie and jacket... hoodie is more effective but I hate how SHORT they make it! got a size up because of this. Jacket is nice windbreaker and good for work
If you work outside in below freezing temps, the jacket is worthless. Get the vest or hoodie and layer over the heated garment. Verified by 20 lineman.
YES YES YES, this guy gets it! You summarized my whole video in 3 sentences, haha. I’m testing the vest and hoodie this year. With your experience level and recommendation, I’m sure they’ll work much better.
@@suburbanacreage yes that's because this is not a coat, its a jacket. coats are thicker and heaver. jackets are thin and intended for fall use. now that vest they got could work under the a coat
I have used the Milwaukee Hoodie ( not this jacket) for the last 5 years. It is the single best, most useful garment I have ever owned. I use it daily from October - April. In the colder months I wear a jacket over it which hugely increases the thermal efficiency. I really love it and highly recommend it.
You are the second person to recommend the hoodie, looks like I’m buying one. Same idea though as in the video: get that heating element close to your body. Just having an outerwear jacket doesn’t cut it.
@suburbanacreage My first hoodie lasted 4 years before an internal connection broke leaving only one chest heating element working. I washed and tumble dried it about 25 times over that time. It was after a wash/dry cycle it stopped working. By then the fabric was showing it's age in places. I use it mainly for my daily walks where I need extra heat in the beginning until I build up my core temperature, then turn it down or off.
@kennethterrell1167 I have the hoodie now and have a video coming out about it soon. Between the jacket, hoodie, and vest: I’ve liked the hoodie the best.
I'm 6-4 280 and normally wear a 2X or 3X jacket because I like them baggy but when I got this jacket I went with an XL because I thought having it tighter would be more beneficial and I was right. It keeps me warm and sometimes I do have to turn it off. Granted I live in Texas and it doesn't get terribly cold but it does what I need.
Problem is there is no big and tall So the waste will be very short I've had a large in the past that fit better for me but the problem is it's just too short
Most ppl wear it wrong it’s supposed to be a tight fit close to the skin but in jacket form you feel restricted get the vest in a tight fit so you can put layers over it
I think you’re right. Hard to wear a jacket so tight because of restriction but the vest should solve that. I have the hoodie now too and it’s a bit better too.
I have the Dewalt heated hoodie, jacket and winter coat. Depending on the temp depends witch I wear. Sweater around the house. Jacket in the shop. Cold snow days the coat. You need a heated coat for what your doing. Your using a jacket for a coat day.
I agree with this video. I think mine is broke, highest heat and I can barely feel with with my hands. The bottom heating element doesn’t even get warm
Have a Makita jacket. Friggan awesome when I am standing around at an auction or sitting at the beach. The bulkiness of the battery is more than acceptable trade off. Pointer wearing a vest over the jacket helps. Bought mine at auction for $60.
I think that’s the move Don. If a guy can buy it right like through an auction, eBay, end of season close out, etc then it’s not so bad. But battery size, heat output, AND retail pricing?!?! That’s a tough one. Good tip though!
The best way to use the heated jacket is to sell it and buy the heated hoodie instead. Then wear a coat over it, and your golden. It holds the heat in.
Guy, you just said with only a T shirt on under it, you could feel the warmth. The you said with extra layers your skin didn't feel the warmth of the heaters. I think the point of the jacket is you don't wear a lot under it, so the heat coils are closer to your skin. Ever try to put something over it?
That’s kinda my point. During the winter I’m usually not just wearing a t shirt around, I basically live in a hoodie Sept - April. But thicker layers make the jacket less effective. To feel the heat the most, shirtless would be the best option. But as stated, that’s not really how people use winter jackets.
I think he's suggesting using this jacket as your base and something over it, that's what most people I know with these do once it gets actually cold@@suburbanacreage
I love my jacket. The bulk of the Battery does suck. And like you say you don't notice the heat much with a hood sweater on. I tighted up some strap so it's a tight fit around my waist and that seemed to help. It blocks the wind very well I hardly even need to turn it out. When I do have it on its below 0 and I have coveralls on so I put those on over the jacket so it presses the jacket closer to me and then when I turn the heat on I definitely feel it.
As someone that works inside freezers and outside in freezing weather, i love my milwaukee heated jacket. Makes trips to the snow and working in the rain bearable
I like the jacket its good for 20-30 for me. The hoodie i use for work and use a coat over it ao it holds the heat. You do not want lots of layers between you and the coils
I was thinking that myself so I started reading reviews and found a lot of people had identical thoughts so I truly think that the jacket just works better for some people based on body type. On the Milwaukee website itself there is a 2 star review on the first page that matches my experience perfectly. www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/202-20
I did test it with various base layers and it is addressed in the video. It works best with just a T shirt, but without heating elements in the arms, a t shirt in winter is a bad choice. Milwaukee heated hoodie and heated vest are also being tested, videos out soon.
Work in a -20F freezer all day for work and it burns me up. Have to turn the heat down once my body heat contributes. It’s nice as hell when it’s cranked up all the way at 5am and im still half asleep. It eliminated layers upon layers and thus, increased mobility. I see your point about the battery. I would fit into a large in a regular jacket that’s fitted the same way as the Axis. I went with the XL for the ability to add more layers if it wasn’t warm enough. All that extra room makes the battery less noticeable.
Great comment my dude. Can I ask if your jacket's power button is all red with seperate bars for different heat levels or does it change colors from red to blue for the different heat levels?
@@suburbanacreage all red w/bars for different heat levels. Two zones. Chest and back zone 1. Shoulders zone 2. Im a grocery order filler with time based incentives. Speed = more money. So I generate my own heat just by that. This jacket magnifies it.👍🏻
I have both a vest and a jacket. The vest is a smarter system because its close to the base layer. The jacket as a stand-alone is pretty decent, and the battery is just a plus. It probably makes sense if you have a bunch of m12s lying around, but not so much as a first-time heated gear owner. The pack is a bit uncomfortable, but usually only driving. Its location is probably the best. Its not directly on your back, or in the front. You can always push it out of the way. There are generic square batteries that will fit the jacket flatter. That however will defeat the convenience of having so many batteries. btw, All heated jackets work by heating coils, so it really comes down to fit.
I don’t get it because my jacket is too hot when I wear it for work. I usually have to turn the heat off because I get so warm. Sounds to me like you got a defective one. My only complaint would be I would like the option to be able to turn the lights off, so I don’t look like a billboard.
I have 2 Heated hoodies and 1 heated jacket and I favor the hoodies because they are light weight and heating element works good but with the jacket it is good when I have my both the heated jacket and the hoodie on because the jacket will acts as a wind breaker which really helps both of them combined your extremely warm actually sweating while working. But my overall favorite is the hoodie due to it being so light weight.
I have the jacket for everyday use and my hoodies for work. Tuck them in my hi vis overalls I need to keep it on low otherwise even in negative weather I'm sweating
I’m wearing one in winter in New Zealand while I watch this I just got it and I’m pretty happy with it. I don’t like the noise it makes but I’m more than happy with the heaters I had to size down to a medium I am normally a large that makes it work a lot better even through a Hoody.
I agree, just bought a tough shell milwaukee jacket for my wife and it was crap. Swapped it for one in my size, hoping it was just a faulty one and the replacement was just as bad. I'm in Australia, not super cold here, probably 14 degrees Celsius at the moment. I tried it on inside my house with a t-shirt on underneath and it's heating ability was very average. Taking it back tomorrow for a refund. Tools seem good though.
I have a camo m12 jacket I wear for hunting. I literally can’t tell the difference when it’s on or off. I feel no heat from it. I do have a heated vest from Amazon, can’t even remember the brand but I feel that and when the battery dies it’s obvious. The m12 jacket is a really nice stand alone jacket… I will give it that but the heating part adds no extra warmth imo. I totally agree. Sucks cuz I was so excited about this to help me stay in the elements 🤷🏻♂️
MY MAN!!!! YES YES YES! Okay so there’s at least four of us in the comments that think this jacket sucks. I’m so glad you said something. Everybody else has me feeling like I got a defective one or something. Your experience is IDENTICAL to mine, so I’m not the only one. I’m testing the hoodie and the vest too, videos coming soon.
There is a mod so that you can use a m18 battery instead of the triangle 12 volt. Plus you can get extended capacity or a high output depending on your needs. Definitely think the m18 battery lays better.plus alot more run time.
@JonCross1269 I'm sure the aftermarket makes something since they make M-series batteries, but there is an M18 power pack adapter, sold by Milwaukee, that replaces the M12 adapter that these jackets come with. I haven't used one yet, but I keep thinking about getting one. With a big M18 battery, the jacket could run on high all night and day. I usually leave mine on low or on medium, but I'd probably default to medium if I were able to use a bigger battery. On a side note, I kind of miss the button changing between red, blue, and white. The blue looks really cool, and the white looks really nice too, except the white is very bright. It was nice to be able to glance down and immediately be able to tell what setting it is on.
@skankytrick wouldn’t the M18 batteries be absolutely HUGE in the pocket? I already don’t like the feel of the M12 plus the adapter. Thanks for watching!
If they had made another battery pack specifically for the clothing, you'd complain about having to buy more batteries just for that. I could go all day with an M12 battery in my pocket without being inconvenienced by the slight bulk it adds. You can't expect a single piece of clothing to keep you as warm as if you were tucked up in bed, that's not how thermal layering works. But if it can keep the cold at bay until I am moving around enough to warm up naturally and prevent me from cooling down too much in the idle times in between, it is doing a good job.
1st: get a real Gas Snow Blower! 2nd: my $7k Milwaukee investment means I have plenty of M12 & M12 hi-capacity batteries charged and ready to use so this jacket works for me. And the jacket-only option costs me $149 + $11 shipping
The people defending this jacket have so much money invested into the brand they have to convince themselves that everything Milwaukee touches is gold.
@@suburbanacreage We are not convincing ourselves of anything. Sure it has flaws but is a really nice warm jacket even if it didn't have a battery option. Heated gear is a fairly new thing and its still being perfected. I can use the m12 battery fine but I also ordered a battery pack that is specifically designed for m12 heated gear that gives me 7 to 8 hours on high and its a battery bank style so its really not much bigger and if anything its thinner. I have a heated vest in another brand of heated gear and I chose the jacket as I don't want to have the battery underneath all my layers as I change over the day as the temps change and I feel this jacket holds the heat in really well. Id love to try the heated vest sometime. I suggest you use some of your extra steam to review other brand heated gear that you like.
Great comment! I did say I liked the jacket as a jacket, durable/tough/stylish, nice jacket overall. I didn’t know about the battery power bank thing you’re talking about, can you give me a link? Sounds pretty cool. I am doing more heated great testing both from Milwaukee and some budget brands. More content to come!
I'm feel the same it's a nice looking jacket but doesn't feel that warm to me and battery life sucks. On high it lasted about 3 hours. I know i can probably make it last longer on a lower setting but like i said on high just feels kinda warm. I've had it for a week now and honestly i wouldn't recommend it. Sorry guys it's a fail for me.
Glad I’m not the only one that thinks this thing sucks. I’m going to give the hoodie a try this year because I think a heated layer closer to your body will be better.
I'm using the M18 2.0 battery and the M18 power source to run mine. Plenty of heat and not shaped like a triangle, I don't own any M12 batteries so I don't know the size comparison.
I got one of these last winter and couldn't agree more with everything you said. I'm glad it was a gift and I didn't pay for it. I found this video while researching heated clothes for this winter and I think a heated base layer is the way to go for me
People are very divided on this topic. Some agree with me completely, others think I’m an idiot. I’m testing some products from Neveland and they get HOT! I’ve found them to hear better than Milwaukee stuff and way cheaper. I’m early in my testing and the video won’t be out for a bit but here’s a link to something you might want to look at. amzn.to/461cHja
@@andybroad189 I have the Milwaukee jacket and it didn’t help me stay warmer hunting (felt no heat). My gf got me a Soleilwear vest from Amazon and that thing helps immensely when I sit in the tree stand. It has 4 heating segments in the back at the kidney area and it really helps. I think these heating elements need to be pressed against the body to be effective so base layers and vests are where it’s at. I really want to find the one that puts off the most heat cuz I’m buying that one when I find it. Oh the vest can use any powerbank too which is important to me cuz I have a bunch for my phone.
I don’t have that particular brand jacket but I absolutely love my heated jacket! If you want a little more comfort, buy one and try it out for yourself. 😉
I have just purchased my milwaukee here in UK because of all the videos saying that ita nace and toste but barely warms up , not sure if it's a fault one or if they are all only barely warm ? Any advice please , and my model ita M12 HJBL5 . WE DONT have the have shelf here in UK.
See my comment above. Wear the Milwaukee jacket and something on top of it. You will be warm. If you wear the milwaukee jacket only, all the heat escapes to the atmosphere and you will be cold. There is nothing wrong with the jacket. You just need "bush smarts". (I am Canadian.) It's cold here in winter. This jacket is fantastic!
I use the hoody under multiple hoodies for insulation. I don’t notice the battery anymore, it’s a pain to change it since it’s my base layer, but I can deal with that if it means warmth. My only complaint is the battery on high only last about an hour. On low, it’s about 4 hours. I bought multiple Chinese batteries, but I recommend buying Milwaukee brand. The Chinese batteries don’t like the Milwaukee charger and tend to do the flashing show which means bad battery. I just pull battery off and plug back in and it charges. The Chinese batteries are finicky, but im not complaining. I got 8 for about $70. I’d only have 2 Milwaukee brand for that price.
I have the hoodie for this winter, just got it last week and liking it a lot better so far. It makes so much more sense to heat up those base layers closer to the body than the outermost jacket. Good tip on the batteries, I've wondered if the cheapies were any good. Thanks for stopping by the comments and dropping that knowledge.
Just got the hoody and am trying to charge the battery, it seems to be taking a long time... then i saw your comment about the lights flashing thing and uh oh... my red and green lights have been flashing for about 1 1/2 hrs now and still wont turn the coat on... whats the trouble
@alteredbeast1974 try pulling the battery off the charger for a few minutes then putting it back on, that’s worked for me in the past. Sometimes it just doesn’t engage right
@@suburbanacreage yea I pulled it off , then kinda jammed it back in briskly, now the lights aren't flashing anymore, but it seems to be a slow charging battery, but maybe it was completely dead idk
@@alteredbeast1974 red and green flashing means bad battery. Unplug and plug the battery back into the charger. Sometimes this works. Also keep the charger and the battery inside. The batteries and charger don’t like the cold
They guy is wearing this jacket with nothing on top of it. What did you think is going to happen? I live in northern Alberta where it is regularly -30 C and sometimes -40 C and with the wind chill factor it can feel as cold as -60C. I wear my heated in Milwaukee jacket with a winter coat over top of it. It is an absolute life saver. It keeps me toasty warm, even hot when the weather is absolutely awful outside. If you don't put something over top of this jacket, of course all the heat is going to simply escape. I am middle aged now and really fell the cold but I need to get work done. This jacket is wonderful. Furthermore, if you put a heavy winter coat on top of this jacket, it will also keep the battery warm too which will make it last longer. If you are cold in winter and/or have to outside for long periods of time, this jacket is for you. You can even get adapters and plug it into a 12 volt outlet on your quad, motorcycle or snowmobile and be outside for hours. if you are going to be snowmobiling miles from nowhere, hope for the best but prepare for the worst of course. Dress appropriately so you can stay warm even if this jacket fails, but I don't think it will.
Winter Parka ? I just wear a heavy winter coat, the kind that goes below your hips over my Milwaukee jacket. I think any winter coat will work. It's mostly so that the heat stays under the winter coat and close to your body rather than escaping to the atmosphere. @@suburbanacreage
My wife and i bought one each for our winter motorbike trips. I found that on the low setting it stops the chill getting through to my body so am pretty happy with it. We wear our bike jackets over the top though so that would press it against oyr bodies i suppose. Its the only heated jacket ive ever owned though so ive nothing to compare it too. We must've got them on special because we only paid $220 Australian and that included an extra battery. Great review though mate. I probably wouldn't have got it if id watched it beforehand. Oh well. It will have to do now.
Hmm, probably better to use a standard flat power brick with the jacket, instead of that lump of a battery it comes with. Something like a Debwu or RGVOTA portable battery with in/out USBC as replacement. They are flat rectangular power banks.
That would be way better, but then it’s getting away from the battery form factor that everyone has lots of. That’s the cool part about the battery, that it’s the same one that’s shared across all the tools. But the sizing just isn’t great for clothing.
I've bought 4 as I thought they were a good idea and worked well. I 1st had issues with the wiring inside the jacket shorting (quiet common. I fixed it myself as Milwaukee service told me it was landfill and wouldn't fix it. Happened on my hoodie also. Bare wires at the button. Just waiting to short. Returned the last one as it didnt heat properly. The worse thing is I have cooked both adapter/chargers in the jackets as this happens when it shorts costing 119 aud each whichbis 50% of the jacket price.. Really really poor quality and I don't use these for extreme work. Very unhappy.
If you work outside and want something to make it a little bearable get the jacket!!! You will need to get extra batteries if you wanna run it on high apl day! I got 2 offbrand batteries for 30 bucks
THIS IS THE BEST JACKET I'VE EVER PURCHASED IT'S AWESOME HAD MINE FOR 2 DAYS IT'S INCREDIBLE GREAT JOB MILWAUKEE I'M ABOUT TO PURCHASE THE HOODIE. I THINK THEY SHOULD START MAKING HEATED TROUSERS TOO. (TRY NOT TO BE SOO NEGATIVE ABOUT A GREAT PRODUCT FROM A GREAT COMPANY) MAYBE MILWAUKEE CAN COLLABORATE WITH CARHARTT SOME DAY
Nah dude, bought the jacket with my own money and was just disappointed. I bought the hoodie too and I’m liking that a bit better. Heating the clothes closest to the body makes more sense. Glad you like your jacket but it was a miss for me. Thanks for watching.
I have had one of these same jackets for a couple years now. I hardly ever wear it because it is just too hot. Unless the temp is below zero outside it’s got to be turned off.
I did a comparison video between this Milwaukee jacket and a much cheaper heated jacket from Amazon; it didn’t do well! ua-cam.com/video/H_Ygd8q94fc/v-deo.htmlsi=8tPmT0Of2-S1WsoP
Dude, I laughed out loud when I saw that their jacket used the same giant 18v brick battery that their tools do. You’re right, that would be way worse.
LOL, I bought a women Medium, just to test it out. Will let my mom try, but she's a small, so based on the review it's already a no go. But I'm going to try it myself out of curiousity. it was only 79 dollars. and curious what all the hype is about. But, I have a marmot down jacket I bought last year, it's warm asf. No need for battery, but I don't think it has the durability required.
An oldie but a goodie! A flat battery pack would improve the usability but then they wouldn’t be interchangeable with the tools. At that point, I’d probably be looking at a dedicated clothing company for my outerwear. I think a main reason anyone buys a jacket from a tool company in this example is because they have a bunch of the Milwaukee m12 batteries already.
@@suburbanacreage I stumbled upon this because I'm on the fence this winter for getting one, I'm sick of double up hoodies, wearing bulky jackets or god knows whatever else. my local home depo finally put these out. the jackets are 200, the batteries are 60 and the chargers are 30. at the time only 2 sold. these used to be good so im guessing they changed something
BAD REVIEW❗️❗️Of course, you won't feel it if you have 5 layers on, lmao, and they fixed the battery problem.everybody i know says they keep it on low cause it's too hot
Yeah they fixed the battery issue by coming out with a flatter battery that you can buy separately for…$100. Haha, keep throwing your money away on this stuff, doesn’t bother me!
A seemingly never ending 8 minute video to see if a jacket is good or not. Thank God for being able to skip ahead to get to some content and not just useless chatter.

@@suburbanacreage they're currently running a sale on all the heated jacket, vest, hooded jacket and hoodie. Until Dec 7. They all Might be more appealing with the discount.
It would work better if you have a T-shirt the jacket then a bigger jacket on top of everything if your not dying of a heatstroke with all that on idk what to tell you
I have the M12 powered hoodie, and it's Mint condition for any weather with the power adjustment level. It is a great idea and to layer up. I will agree to disagree with this dude.
Well there you go being all respectful and stuff. This is the comments section, you call me an idiot/moron/dumbass and then insult my family! My Milwaukee hoodie review is coming up, spoiler: it’s better than the jacket! Thanks for watching!
It’s entirely possible that two different people can have wildly opposite experiences using the exact same product. If I were fatter it’d work better because it would be a tighter fit.
I have the heated vest. Don't mind the battery in the front pocket. Works best with a tight fleece vest over it. It presses the heat coils onto my body and I feel the heat. By itself under a coat , not so warm.
2 years is a decent run but I too have concerns about long term useability and if these products will last. I've got coats older than my kids, I'm not sure these heated products will stand the test of time.
No reason for me to watch the video to the end. I love mine. I have had no problems. Use it for work, riding the motorcycle, walking the dog. The battery storage is a bit uncomfortable. But I probably have 15 of the m12 batteries ready to go at all times for other tools so it is convenient for me.
This dude is smoking crack. It's a really nice windproof, waterproof jacket... with heating pads in it. I never really even notice the battery in the pocket unless it just happens to get between my back and my seat. Sometimes this jacket alone is so warm I don't even use the heat. And I work outdoors, so when it's cold enough to need the heater, it's VERY nice to have it, and it runs for hours on high. And it's a milwaukee battery, so put it on the charger and it's full charged in like 10 mins.
You nailed it!!! I have the jacket and have the same feeling. I don’t really feel the heat. I am going for the hoodie. Always were a hoodie and with the heat only having to go through a T-shirt will work better.
True but that’s in a comparison between heated jackets. Take the battery for example: compared to the DeWalt or Makita jackets, the Milwaukee battery pack is tiny. But compared to not having a battery in your jacket pocket at all, the Milwaukee feels bulky and heavy. My overall take is that money can be better spent on high quality cold weather clothing rather than gimmicky battery powered stuff. Lots of guys love this jacket, I just didn’t.
I think there was a redesign based on people that have had them longer saying they get hot but nuke the battery in under 1 hour. My experience was opposite, battery lasted 2-3 hours on high but very little heat. They changed something and these new jackets are watered down quite a bit.
Thank you for steering me away from this. I almost bought it. Instead bought a kenimoto headed hoodie and an action5 heated jacket for work - haven't received either of them so can't review those yet.
I’ve got a “brand name vs Amazon” comparison video coming up where I put a budget Amazon heated jacket up against the Milwaukee. Results were surprising!
If I go any smaller in size, it’s too short. I tested it against a generic Amazon heated jacket and the Milwaukee stuff just doesn’t get as hot as the competition, plus Milwaukee costs way more. ua-cam.com/video/H_Ygd8q94fc/v-deo.html
The Milwaukee jacket is awesome when it heats up it feels like you're sitting heated car seat only have one complaint Milwaukee should have made a highest level super hot where once you got the jacket super warm you could adjust the heat level cuz it takes a few minutes for the jacket to warm up after wearing it on high for like 15-20 minutes then I have to adjust the level down a notch or I start feeling like it's burning my chest so yeah that guy in the video he's totally incorrect about the jacket he must not be a fan of Milwaukee
Dude I have wore this jacket for about five or six years now and I definitely know it's on if you can't feel it just give up and except your dead again five to six years and wouldn't give it up for anything
I got this years ago and there's a bit of a learning curve to its ideal use. Mine is much larger than I'd thought would be ideal but it ended up working well. The more layers you put under it makes you feel the heat less directly to avoid overheating but also helps you keep warmer in lower temperatures by holding more heat in the internal layers. I've found the key to keeping the heat in is using it as a base layer besides maybe a thin t-shirt if not in combination with some kind of thicker button up shirt and layer over top of it with a well fitting thin rain jacket at least like a grundens. If you want to be really warm use a warm hoodie or coat over the heated coat and under the outer rain coat. I hardly notice the battery in the front of the jacket and always keep a few batteries ready and charging in case of extra cold weather while not moving much. I find it completely unnecessary to use the heat while doing hard physical work due to overheating personally and impossible to have multiple layers zipped up holding in heat in those situations. Don't wash the coat with the battery in it. For $200 I'd say it's worth it, it would be better if it was completely waterproof with a hood though as well as the stitching and materials being stronger.
Yeah you are nuts. Wear this under your jump suit and you can start warm indefinitely. If you expect a THIN jacket to keep your whole body magically warm.. heated or not, then the problem is your expectations.
agree 100%. just bought one, cant tell if its on or off, unless i take off my gloves and feel where the element is. might work in cool climates, but utterly useless in canada. froze my a$$ off wearing this.

It was after a wash/dry cycle it stopped working. By then the fabric was showing it's age in places. I use it mainly for my daily walks where I need extra heat in the beginning until I build up my core temperature, then turn it down or off.
@@bunkermunk1707 that’s great durability, definitely buying one this fall. Thanks for the suggestion.
@suburbanacreage Got a hoodie from work, was so good I bought one for my father.
Problem is there is no big and tall
So the waste will be very short
I've had a large in the past that fit better for me but the problem is it's just too short
I totally agree with the purchase of a hoodie instead of the jacket. Using a nice Carhartt jacket over the hoodie is a perfect combination😊
Heating the thing that is closest to your body makes the most sense. I do like the hoodie way better.
Do you ever layer them? Use the hoodie underneath one of the others?
@@suburbanacreage I did my first year till I saved up for the coat.
I agree with you man they do have to upgrade this. It is not that warm. It is not feel like a warm blanket heat.
My man Conor coming in hot with the truth! See everybody, I’m not the only one that thinks this thing sucks.
I actually just got the hoodie and there will be a video coming soon. You’re not wrong!
@@suburbanacreageI'm in the southeast, but a T-shirt is all I ever wanna wear.. So if I can get away with just a jacket, you bet I'm all about it.
I am wondering if you have a defective jacket. I have a this same jacket with excellent results. But to each their own I suppose.
You didn’t know if it was on because you wore it OVER a (what appears to be) a thick hoodie so all the heat was going out to the environment.
I did test it with various base layers and it is addressed in the video. It works best with just a T shirt, but without heating elements in the arms, a t shirt in winter is a bad choice. Milwaukee heated hoodie and heated vest are also being tested, videos out soon.
Mine heat up small heating element . I dont know if it is like that or just broken . When I touched the heating elemnet, they are so small
The same for me , I keep thinking if it's on or not but don't get any hotter at all .
Just warms up that's all
Work in a -20F freezer all day for work and it burns me up.
I think I mention that in the video but yeah, super annoying. The light doesn’t seem that bright, but when it’s dark out it gets bad.
Good input Jacob, you’re the first to suggest layering the heat gear. Might have to try that.
I got the Bosch hoodie in 3xl for the loose fit which I prefer. Biggest problem is that the battery wont last longer then 2 hours on full heat mode.
@JonCross1269They cost $30 from Milwaukee. Home Depot stocks them.
@skankytrick wouldn’t the M18 batteries be absolutely HUGE in the pocket? I already don’t like the feel of the M12 plus the adapter. Thanks for watching!
I really appreciate the information, I was actually very confused about which one to buy
I’ll always find something to complain about!
They have a battery that is slim now.
I’m going to give the hoodie a try this year because I think a heated layer closer to your body will be better.
ya to make it last longer you need the higher amp battery. problem is its bulky and you will feel it up against you
I'm using the M18 2.0 battery and the M18 power source to run mine. Plenty of heat and not shaped like a triangle, I don't own any M12 batteries so I don't know the size comparison.
Excellent point about a heated vest. It didn't occur to me.

Good advice. A heated vest/gilet is good for this reason. Start with a t shirt, then a heated vest, and then a jacket over that.
@@trevorstolz8580 Yeah but mate come on the jacket is so bulky what the EFF would you wear over it that wouldnt make you look like a bloated ass hole
Hey Trevor, what would I Google to find the exact type of over coat you’re talking about and what brand is best?
Winter Parka ? I just wear a heavy winter coat, the kind that goes below your hips over my Milwaukee jacket. I think any winter coat will work. It's mostly so that the heat stays under the winter coat and close to your body rather than escaping to the atmosphere. @@suburbanacreage
I really like my jacket, when i put my hand on the outside i can't feel the heat escaping, but i sure feel it on the inside layers.
Get a 3000ma use battery pack with female to USB adapter. It’s last up to 18 hours with full heat.
If you work outside and want something to make it a little bearable get the jacket!!! You will need to get extra batteries if you wanna run it on high apl day! I got 2 offbrand batteries for 30 bucks
I got mine at Home Depot at the end of the season for $115.00 with battery. I wear it in Nevada. It's perfect for what I use it for.
Can’t argue with that price, great deal!

But, I have a marmot down jacket I bought last year, it's warm asf. No need for battery, but I don't think it has the durability required.
I know this is an old video, but I think i saw qhwre they were making flat batteries now
An oldie but a goodie!
Thank you for your honest opinionated review. Ignore the rude comments. Your review was helpful
Yup that’s kinda what I’m gathering, I bought the hooded sweatshirt too
I’d say the way your describing this wear a tshirt then this then a soft hoodie over this coat or overalls
I’ve got the heated hoodie ordered up, thinking a heated base layer closer to the body will work better than heated outerwear.
I've had mine for almost 2 years, and it stopped heating up. I don't even use it for outdoor work. 😢
2 years is a decent run but I too have concerns about long term useability and if these products will last. I've got coats older than my kids, I'm not sure these heated products will stand the test of time.
M12 hoodie under a goretex shell 👍👍
That’s my plan for this year. I’ll make a follow up video and report back.
Thanks! You just saved me $250.
what i love mine.
Say no to drugs, kids!
You nailed it!!! I have the jacket and have the same feeling. I don’t really feel the heat.
I am going for the hoodie. Always were a hoodie and with the heat only having to go through a T-shirt will work better.
Glad I’m not the only one that was disappointed. I have hoodie, it is better! I’m going to pick up the vest too.
Huh. Project Farm seemed to like that jacket.
After reading the comments I have to wonder if some of these jackets work better than others for whatever reason. Honestly mine is great.
I think there was a redesign based on people that have had them longer saying they get hot but nuke the battery in under 1 hour. My experience was opposite, battery lasted 2-3 hours on high but very little heat. They changed something and these new jackets are watered down quite a bit.
I would not recommend wasting money on the m12 heated jacket. My battery is full yet the jacket refuses to turn on.
I’d try to warranty that, sounds defective. Let us know if they stand behind their product.
Bought the coat, didn't work outta the box , fk sakes, gotta return it now
Didn't work at all? That sucks, mine at least turned on
I have the zip hoodie and I wear it as a base layer under a jacket and it works perfect. This guy is entitled to his opinion but he is wrong.
I now have the jacket, hoodie, and the vest. Hoodie is the best of the three. More videos coming soon!
I have the vest!!!!! It is my absolute best tool!!!! I ride the Harley with it, ... Going to the broncos game today!!!! It's 15 degrees
So you’re wearing the jacket wrong?
Where one that fits or put on a carhart suit over it and you will damn sure know it at 30 below...i do
If I go any smaller in size, it’s too short. I tested it against a generic Amazon heated jacket and the Milwaukee stuff just doesn’t get as hot as the competition, plus Milwaukee costs way more.

Gotta wear the vest that's the key
I think you’re right!
Lol this must be a dewalt rep. 😅😅 my Milwaukee hoodie is one the best items I’ve ever purchased
My true identity, revealed! You got me
Thank you for the honest and thorough review!
I’m going to try the hoodie and the vest that a lot of people recommended in the comments. I’m hoping I like them better.
Great reviews and informations.
That glitch at 1:00 scared the poop outta me
Sorry about that, not sure what happened with the upload. I owe you some clean underwear.
Dude I have wore this jacket for about five or six years now and I definitely know it's on if you can't feel it just give up and except your dead again five to six years and wouldn't give it up for anything

Who tf needs a heated jacket and to mow grass. Flip flops and a snow shovel lmfao
Have the exact same jacket works amazing!!!
And thanks for the review!
Thanks so much for the video
You are so welcome! I bought the hoodie for this winter and I'm liking it a lot better so far. I'll have a video about that in a few weeks.
@@suburbanacreage cozy! Awesome
Prison pocket
agree 100%. just bought one, cant tell if its on or off, unless i take off my gloves and feel where the element is. might work in cool climates, but utterly useless in canada. froze my a$$ off wearing this.
That’s what I’m saying!
Thats odd. I read a lot of good reviews on it.
Read through the comments, I’m definitely not the only one that was underwhelmed. Some guys really like it, I am not one of those guys.
4:34 no shlt sherlock. It should be used as a base layer.
