I absolutely love that you are taking the time to show your fans how to play your songs. More artists need to do that!
Check out Robby Krieger of The Doors. He's teaching people how to play The Doors' songs on UA-cam. It so cool that such a superstar of rock is teaching people how to play The Doors' classics!
@@audiophileman7047 Thanks! I love The Doors; one of my favorite bands.
@@JeffSeverson77 Great, have fun learning The Doors songs from the master himself! 👍👍👍
I love bands who take care about the musicians in their audience ! Always a good sign ! Much love to you Larkin
They are a " musician's band" so to speak ...like Joe Bonamassa and Joe Satriani.
@@cyberian2007 what are you trying to say ?
First of all....what a great song that is! That rhythm is the key to that ZZ Top-like sound and feel. Deceptively simple on the surface but way harder on the actual execution. Larkin Poe is purely THE bomb! Bought all their musical releases. That kind of talent needs to be supported. Period.
There I was, enjoying that kick-ass groove, and then she sang, and I totally forgot my name... Damn... That voice is a smoldering fire. 🔥 Instant fan.
Love your style Rebecca, you're amazing at everything🖤. Thanks for hangin with us during this quarantine🤘🏼!!
Love these DIYs so fun listening to your explanations and breakdown of the little things that make the song big!
Thanks so much for doing the tutorial! Our band has been rocking Deep Stays Down and our audiences love it. We will be adding Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues next!!!
Brilliant to see artists engaging in this way, such a talent
One of the few artists that’s got the guts to sit in the family room raw and play while singing over the top without fear of judgment. Of course its nails. Saw you guys in Seattle… The show was unbelievable and the performance was spot on. I’ve seen over 100 concerts and you have something special. Fan for life.
Man what a bundle of energy :) giving musical orders in a military way ...relax just teasing ...have a good time
This was seriously one of the best riff explanations I have ever seen. Wow well done!
great teacher!!!! you both are awesome
Great Rebecca can't wait to see you all again in UK
Sincere thanks for sharing. That riff is what grabbed me over a year ago and led to myself and my daughter digging deep into your music. We always look forward to you music and videos. Big fans. Keep them coming!
Being able to learn and play this tune is a huge gift ! Thank you !
Love this DIY you’re both doing. Hope it’s a regular thing and thanks for sharing very generous.
Oh Rebecca, this became one of my favorite sass & attitude songs the moment I heard it for the first time. I immediately sent it to my daughter because the attitude in it totally paints HER daughter, whom I cherish! Thanks for the tutorial. I’m going to learn this song and play and sing it for her next birthday!
Been in your corner ever since the first time I saw your videos.....Its like preaching to the choir when you talk about using, muting, chunks, rakes, slaps. My wife and I, "Shakehouse" always think "more than the sum of our parts" when we gig. Your talents are numerous but your passion and willingness to share an accessibility is as much what we the fans are grateful for.
Thanks so much for keeping up with these. I love learning the riffs to great Larkin Poe songs while in quarantine!
This was a great breakdown. It's got some serious funk on that riff. Thank you! Stay healthy and safe.
One of my favourite song of yours and now guitar goal. 🎼🎵💜🎶
Larkin and Poe I love you two !! Best blue around !!♡!!
Rebecca= Talent+ Energy on Top!
Thank you Rebecca. It is really good to see you breaking down one of your songs. I've learnt more about music and stripping down a song from your tip o the hat series than any where else. Nobody does music like you two!!!
You guys are fantastic, you two have definitely helped me endure this quarantine, I hope to see you live someday.
Great details come from humble people.... Thanx a lot for your lesson, this song changed my life...
That was the best bridging of the digital divide I think I have seen . You have to be busy as can be , but more of the same would be a great gift to fans, and vastly appreciated ...
Many , many, thanks.
Thanks Rebecca! You're tutorials and enthusiasm are much appreciated.
Gracias Rebecca, un saludo y cuídense las dos.
She’s appreciative of viewers? This is crazy! What a super teacher! I wish everyone was as great as her teaching skills. And so willing to show them to us knuckleheads. Then you throw n that vocal! I’m glad I was sitting down!
I love this song so much I listen to it a few times everyday. This tutorial is the reason I have now started to learn to play electric guitar. I pray even after lockdown she will continue to upload these tutorials. Thank you a million times over. Sending you guys nothing but love and respect.
Strings so fresh the sun be needin' shades for the brightness!
Its great that you and your sister are doing these videos to help others grow. You're taking the entertainment to a whole new level of involvement. Keep it up.
Amazing playing. And then she starts singing. Wow.
One of my fav song! But i opened the world of you two by hittin "Hard Times Killin Floor". Thank you Rebecca!
I lost my Larkin Poe virginity with Mad as a Hatter!
It's all about the blues, mate! Life without the blues would be like a day without sunshine.😎
thanks for the tutorial and the encouragement
Love you guys! Your covers are the best, new, old and modern. I just love them all.
Your love for music and your fans makes everything shine ,thank you.
Rebecca, you and Megan are the best. Appreciate your interaction with the fans. God bless y'all
One of my faves!
I love your tutorials. It sure teaches this medeocre at best, old , country blues rock player, a thing or two or three.
You are so awesome! I love your videos and I have been following each DYI and learning your awesome riffs.
Such a rare moment for such a talented artist to share your chops. Much appreciated!
Really well done. You have a really good feel for getting the ideas across.
Loving the tutorials
Wow - so easy and effective. Been playing >30 years and never seen the point of drop D tuning before (except on my bass). Opened up a whole world of new possibilities. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut.
How have I only discovered Larkin Poe just now? On the back of watching a few videos here, just ordered 3 CDs (old school I know, but so am I).
Really appreciate this lesson too - and Megan's one on slide - awesome stuff.
Love how you sing and play that riff! Awesome 👍
Yes! Another Larkin Poe DIY. "Be patient and just let it have some sass..." That's what Larkin Poe's all about.
Awesomely simple. Simply Awesome!
I just tried this out and it worked perfectly fine. Great tutorial! Who knew Corona lockdown could also be productive and fun. Thank you very much and PLEASE keep them coming!
Really fabulous and love that riff!
Great lesson! I absolutely love these girls. Fantastic
How perfect!
I❤Larkin Poe!
This is awesome thank you for the lesson
Thanks for this video! One of my favorite of your songs
Here's my suggestion for a DIY: a tour of ALL your guitars. And, I'd bet that even Megan has more than just one. I love you guys. Thank you for all the great music.
I love these tutorials. Please keep doing them.
I really enjoy y’all’s performances.
Awesome! What a voice! Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Fantastic! That's some soul magic music right there! Can't wait to learn this. Thanks for sharing! 😎🤘
Even as a lesson this groove gives me chills. Such a statement of generosity. You gals r killin' it. Thank you!!
Awesome, as always, keep on!
Rebecca - your style of explaining the groove, the chunk, the feel of your great song is truly outstanding. Thanks for sharing so clearly and openly. It is an inspiration to me as a musician and music lover.
Thanks very much for sharing with us this riff!! You're such a big artist and teacher!!!
Such good teachers! Impressed with the clarity. Well done.
Thank you Rebecca!
Great tutorial, I really appreciate it!
Much love, stay safe 🤘🔥🤘
Mississippi Tutorial? Its my favourite song by far. I love it
Love these lessons ❤️❤️❤️
You play the EXACT type of music that I like playing on guitar.......please make a billion more of these. You've gained an instant fan as well....
Woah!!
such total mastery down to the atomic level!
I don’t play guitar but harmonica and CBG, so I watch a lot of tutorial videos.
You are very good at giving the instructions.
Enjoyed seeing you at the Bean Blossom Blues Fest.
So much talent and personality, I can’t stand it!
Love it! Thanks I hope you keep them coming. You inspire me to grab my guitar!
Thank-you for being so supportive of your fans. Especially those of us 6-stringer types. In return we will always support you. I hope to see you on the road someday soon.
I have no guitar experience and can't imagine I'll be learning this song in the near future, but Rebecca Lovell is inhumanly cool and I just love listening to her talk about music. Can't wait to listen to the new album!
LOVE LOVE LOVE these DIY lessons. I can't come close to Megan's or or Rebecca's falsetto. I worked in radio and am forever stuck with low velvetones... my transition to falsetto is a bit obvious. I'd like to say it's an Aquarius thing... but Rebecca was born 3 days after me,,,, (a few decades later) so my theory falls apart. See ya'll in Boston
You are full of Energy!🌺
I'm loving this DIY series. Great lesson. Thanks, Rebecca!
thanks for the quick lesson. simple but great sounding
Brilliant and hypnotizing.
Still a beginner with guitar at 50 and loving this. Going to give it a try. Might take awhile.
These are awesome, thanks! I'd love it if you could do one of these tutorials for your arrangement of John the Revelator.
Great lesson/demo. Rebecca does a great job breaking it down.
Thank you Rebecca for the lesson ❤️ Big fan here, love you from India ❤️🇮🇳
You know, I discovered Larkin Poe by accident the other day while searching for a well filmed cover of the Bob Seger song "Rock and Roll Never Forgets" so I could play it on guitar. It seemed like it might be a simple enough song that I could play it after watching a good video without having to look for a detailed lesson breakdown. Anyway, I really enjoyed the little video of just the two sisters doing the Seger song and it gave me most of what I needed to play the song (the intro is played differently). I watched the video a couple of more times just to enjoy it. Got me to looking at what else Larkin Poe did. That is when I was BLOWN AWAY by the blues videos and started scrambling to see if the group had any shows coming up in California (yes!). I was briefly confused by Rebecca's playing, and decided she must be using open D tuning, and on this video I find out that it is partial open tuning (Drop D, which is 50% open D). And I appreciate taking the time to share the little nuances that make this simple music so very complex and deeply enjoyable. Thanks!
Your vocal is perfect for your style of playing.
Nice riff. Great teacher. Thanks.
Thank you from a beginner steel player at the age of 62 you also show me what the other players are doing
Wow, youre a great teacher! So sensible of the tiny little things that make the sound and the spirit. Thank You.
I'm 71 and constantly look for new, big talent to follow; you are the real deal-truly excellent👏
Thanks for the insight into your song!
We found your music while searching for awesome new songs to cover and have been blown away by your talent! We love playing this one out and introducing people to your music, the lyrics and groove is so much fun! Drop D and capo makes for a unique sound!
Nice breakdown, love your making your own vascular
Love it! Thank You
omg I'm gonna play this song all night now
Thank you. For your time ,, loved it ,
This. Is. AWESOME! As a newbie guitarist that started 5 months ago, I can now play my first actual guitar riff! Thanks for taking the time!
