Had my combo for about a month. I am having loads of fun with it. No issues to date, except the waste. Then who said 3D printing was cheap? Quality-wise, it does outshine my Neo and Kobra 2 Max. However, if I want real quality, especially for small items, I opt for my Photon Mono 2. Overall it was a good investment for me.
Thanks Sam. As I have mentioned to you before, I have always been concerned about waste from AMS type multi colour printers. As you touched on, the energy waste is high as well due to the extended print times for multi colour models. As a designer and printer I have been sitting back a bit lately to see what direction other designers have been going in and it's a very mixed bag ATM. I think I will stick to my current ethos of keeping my designs easy print without supports where possible (not always possible) and minimise waste by separating different colours of the model where possible so they can be printed individually unless it's a simple single colour layer change thats produces a tiny amount of waste. This reduces waste in both energy and filament. I think there will be a waste problem until AMS type systems evolve and advance. So in the short term, designers will need to get their heads around the problem and design around the issue where possible. Sorry it was long winded 😂
Had it since launch. I am OKAY with it. Was Not excited or amped after the MAX and Kobra 2 nightmares. Definitely a Upgraded design and still has some bugs it needs to work out. Once they do it could be a real decent pick for someone getting into multi-color/material printing.
I have the same thought, it’s nice they got the 4 color out as quickly as they have. The larger than normal size is a plus too. My major hang up is the waste tho!
A1 Mini AMS or Kobra 3.. scratching my head now..love the integrated filament dryer of Kobra 3 (had the worst experience with filament) .. but A1 Mini.. superb print quality and speed..
Can anyone recommend the best settings for this machine because I keep getting major banding in the prints with very rough layer lines… not smooth at all. I’m using their anycubic slicer next software by the way. TIA
if anycubic made updates while the video was being made, they should have communicated that to me. They didn't but i'm glad you have seen an improvement.
@@TheRealSamPrentice but the 80$ 3d printers on ali express type sites are far worse and people widely agree that for the money they are fine. If AC offered the combo for $250 the reviews would be positive.
Other companies haven't failed. Bambu had it for 2 years+ already. This is just a copy of the Bambu without software support. It's still not on par. I've been an Anycubic guy for years and never new how better I can have it if I left anycubic., Never anycubic again. For years, I keep trying to reasure myself that I did the right thing buying anycubic. I should've dump them a long time ago. I sold all my two Kobra 2 Max, mono x2 and moneo 6k for $200. Never looking back. the X1C and the A1 is 10 times better. I don't have to tinker now, just design and print and not looking at layer lines anymore. Just print and forget. To sum it all up. Don't buy this. Go Bambu A1. You'll save a lot of headaches. The slicing software will never improve just like they never did for the old ones

But Sam. But in the comments nearly 3 people have told me I’m wrong about the ammount of waste on these units and they are perfect!
Great video man!
They are full of.. thanks dude
Have the same issues with my multi-color pretty terrible prints and false filament jams
Got my Combo a few days ago and every time I try multi color it keeps saying that there's jams... Maybe it's a firmware issue? Hope they fix it soon.
Brother, you don’t know waste until you print in 8 colors.
Will get the combo for single color prints, the ACE is just great for drying, storing and feeding new filament, once spool is over..
Awesome don’t forget my links :)

Dear God has it really been that long? I remember that machine 😲
Yeah weirdly enough !!
a1 combo or kobra 3 combo?
I'm not going to be using the multicolored what features on this thing I'm only using it as a dryer and doing single colors at a time

Do you know if the filament changer work with their large upcoming printer?
I would think so
I have a k1 max and ender 3 ke so will be waiting for the upgrade to turn them into multi colour machines
Im not too worry about the waste material, but i do about my hot bed. It just not leveling well. I'll contact anycubic now.
Gotta say, I love your poop montage
It’s some of my best work
Guessing you made this vid a bit ago as the updates have improved it quite a bit.

Naw it still sucks I just returned mine for an A1.

Kobra la la la la

oh you!!
There is no bad product, just bad pricing. Unfortunately they can't price them low enough.
I have to say, there are plenty of bad products!

@@nick4088 other companies haven’t failed what do you mean?
had mine 3 weeks 200 hours of print time... no end of issues, finally the hot end blob of death. Machine sent back for a full refund
So not 200 hours of successful print time then
