The body would be great if you did a short roll cage, something similar to the honcho. But probably a little too big for a trophy truck on that specific chassis, then again it could be sweet!
Love the Real Year of No Lexan and your Incredible Commitment to it. Ford body is just right. We are all used to tires sticking out for crawlers so when one actually fits we think it's too big. Mount it up and put a big, I mean big flat bed on it. Like the song where she picks him up.
Before setting the Ford body aside, search the images for the '80s short bed versions. I always thought they had more rear overhang on the bed than other manufacturer's offerings. Ford prerunners were far more prevalent due to the beam suspension, anyway.
I do actually like that bigger cab. The wheels look better proportioned. Maybe on a longer chassis it could work. I'll write that off as a happy accident
Yeah... been setting up a Beams on a SCX V1 and an open diff is totally necessary if you're driving on anything but sand. With a rear swaybar drive if just fine and predictable.
Most trophy trucks have extremely flared fenders for that tuck you want. The fenders of that body are where you wanna be the rest just needs to be sucked in 🙌 can’t wait to see this one 🎉
Love your I Beam build! I think you should better lengthen the rear end to 390mm to fit to the long bed Ford XLT you printed. Also this will look more natural like a Old School Baja Truck with long wheelbase!
I just V-Formed a Lexan 4WD Turkey body for my TRX4 Hightrail. Trying to make it as top-heavy and goofy as possible for Proline by the fire. So if any of you see something Gobbling toward you at a high rate of speed, it's just my Trail Truck.
Lexan should only ever be used for windows! And on that subject, regarding the Axial CJ - what about printing a hard-body in ABS to replace the lexan portion, and re-attaching the various moulded parts to that?
If you did the VFD twin stubby mounted backwards in the chassis, the OD/UD shift mechanism would make it act like a 2 speed transmission on the beams truck. Basically a low range/high range, with locking diff, would be awesome!
I’m with ya buddy. I haven’t touched lexan in about 2 years. I do have a vaterra K5 that has been on my shelf for a while now, but I have 6 other projects that will keep me busy for a while yet. I would love to see a nice aluminum can drift or crawler body. I have faith that you are able to do it.
Been wanting to build a pre-runner, but the dual beam seemed sketchy, until I saw it actually is from the full scale world. the 65 Ford I-beam isn't nearly as radical.
Thats a true 1/10th scale body for a ford fullsize truck a true 1/10th single cab long bed has like a 19 inch wheelbase i started making a 97 crewcab long bed a few years ago out of wood and ended up giving it to a buddy cause i dodnt have the tooling needed and the body length was 27ish inches long
could see if theres a Bronco II body you could print for the BEAMS chassis, they also ran that style front suspension or a Ranger of that era. As far as the Mullet Chassis direction, youre doing a 2nd gen prius on it arent you!
Hey brother!!! I’d love to see you make one of @DoubleClutchProductions new trailing arm dual shock set up for a no fun haver!! Man is changing scale baja building!!
Awe man I watched a video on a straight scale contest for RCs!! I forget the acronym but these trucks were rad man! Working windows, power roof campers, crazy shit! Look it up
Again, thanks for the great content. I’m really liking the hilux and it would be great if all your details can be added and use on the vs410. Looking forward to that coming alive.
first off, your videos are calming and just amazing. Haven't figured out you Canadians and that friendliness, but just know us Texans are still skeptical it's a long term play toward full US invasion..... I digress... What print speed, specifically outer wall, are you using on that x1 to maintain that quality of thin wall print? I'm seriously considering changing out my fleet but all I see them bragging about is acceleration. lot of opinions out there but I truly trust yours
I don’t mess with the settings very often, if at all. Outer Wall speed is 60mm/s, inner is at 300mm/s. As for Canadian friendliness, your paranoia is correct... we started with taking over Hollywood... one step at a time! 😂
It’s too big. I have one I can send you, a file anyways! I love the Chevy Luv! I grew up watching them rip down the track with blown (supercharged) big blocks. Don’t make fun of us Texan hillbillies 😂
New year, same intro. Good. As for that body? Maybe do a 'bronco' with a cage back? 6x6?...Bleb? ...also where'd ya find that shipping container model? I've got a few ideas, all dumb of course.
Hey matt....have you thought of building a scale garage....scene for shooting or building scale rc's in?? Back it with 2 1/10 containers that front and top open up to reveal paints and tools in them...all 3d printed-maybe even get someone to graffiti tag and names on with rusted areas too....? Body was defo too big for what you were doing me thinks....on this episode. Peace...
Hi! I want to make a scale garage, but my workshop is REALLY small so it would be challenging trying to find a place to store it when I'm not using it. I have to think on it!
The X1 Carbon has a filter system and is enclosed, so there's not much odour or fumes. I still keep it in a closed room, for the sake of my health, just in case.
@@scalebuildersguild I want to build a hard body drift car for a fun, just for a shits & giggles thing with a hilarious amount of body roll. I’m loving my rdx at the moment and it’s a seriously good chassis, but I also love the not serious side of the RC hobby!
Could't you just scale the body smaller in the slicer? You might wanna try running short course tyres for less rolling over. How about naming it Sappho, for the scissoring action 😆
Man I was hoping you would at least watch a few videos on full size prerunners before doing the next one. Your def in a strange direction with those frame rails parts selection and geometry.
Reprint the body 10% or 15% smaller… It would look awesome!
The body would be great if you did a short roll cage, something similar to the honcho. But probably a little too big for a trophy truck on that specific chassis, then again it could be sweet!

Looking forward to seeing the I Beam build with the VFD! Super neat!
You and me both!
I agree too big may be lengthen the chassis and put slightly larger tires
11:40 Wow Me LiKiE 1/10th scale, I gotta wait till spring lol
The beam chassis would need a stretch wheelbase for that ranger body.
Thanks for having your EU followers in mind for the livestream 🙌🇸🇪
Hope to see you there!
@@scalebuildersguild so sorry, it wasn’t possible even tho the time was better. Family time with the kids had to be prioritized…
I'm digging that Luvota cab! Nice mash up!
Thanks!
That would fit my SCX6!!😂
I do actually like that bigger cab. The wheels look better proportioned. Maybe on a longer chassis it could work. I'll write that off as a happy accident
That body does look a little big for that build. Proline makes a fender flare kit that would probably look good on a boxy body like that.
can't wait to see the tarted up container! it'll be such a hussie
Yeah... been setting up a Beams on a SCX V1 and an open diff is totally necessary if you're driving on anything but sand. With a rear swaybar drive if just fine and predictable.
I think a Tamiya midnight pumpkin body will work on that truck, it's 1/12 scale. It's a hard body as well. Yes the body you have is too big.
Midnight Pumpkin will be far too small and narrow, but thanks for the suggestion!
Definitely to big! It looks awesome so hopefully you find a use for it!
Most trophy trucks have extremely flared fenders for that tuck you want. The fenders of that body are where you wanna be the rest just needs to be sucked in 🙌 can’t wait to see this one 🎉
Ohhh i love the container idea! Always look forward to Whats on the Bench Weekly 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man!
Love your I Beam build! I think you should better lengthen the rear end to 390mm to fit to the long bed Ford XLT you printed. Also this will look more natural like a Old School Baja Truck with long wheelbase!
Thanks! I’ve decided to go in a slightly different direction, but one that I think you’ll still like!
Reconfigure it into an 80s Bronco. It should fit then.
Great start to another year for sure, waiting for the next one

I Loled at the Fabrats "That was easy" button ! ;'D
Lexan should only ever be used for windows!
And on that subject, regarding the Axial CJ - what about printing a hard-body in ABS to replace the lexan portion, and re-attaching the various moulded parts to that?
I agree with you about the Ford being too large, I would go with a small size print with prerunner fenders on it to cover the wheels
If you did the VFD twin stubby mounted backwards in the chassis, the OD/UD shift mechanism would make it act like a 2 speed transmission on the beams truck. Basically a low range/high range, with locking diff, would be awesome!
Not a bad idea, but I'm trying to limit the complexity!
Love the stance of the CJ now.
I’m really excited for the Mercury LC70 kit.
You should totally make the Evergreen shipping container from Dexter!
We'll see how long I last! I think bets are being made!
The Luv grill is a perfect choice
I drive a 1981 bullnose F250 about everyday,Ashame you can’t build something with it but I’m sure you’ll have something awesome in its place !
👍👍
That's the plan!
Been wanting to build a pre-runner, but the dual beam seemed sketchy, until I saw it actually is from the full scale world. the 65 Ford I-beam isn't nearly as radical.
Suzuki Samurai Body would be perfect for this build!
Hardbody on Ali - Express or print one..
The beams seem awfully narrow for the ride height. Maybe it's just a weird camera angle, but it seems like a really top heavy setup to me

You caught me! 😉
Even though you hate Lexan, the ranger body with fenders would be absolutely perfect
I don't really hate it, was just needing a change!

Awe man I watched a video on a straight scale contest for RCs!! I forget the acronym but these trucks were rad man! Working windows, power roof campers, crazy shit! Look it up
USTE, yes, very scale indeed.
I ordered a Bambu x1c. I'm going to try and print an rc body.
Go for it! Good luck!
I build a ttb rc jeep long before it was cool, so 4x4 beams long before you.... :)
Just strech the frame to make wheelbase match the body
Just need to print out some flaired off road front fenders
The hilux belongs on the Beam chassis if you long for comedy
What size wire loom do you use to keep the wire’s managed?
1/4"
No beams for me , some better options for 2wd trucks out there , lighter as well.
Looking forward to 2024 and watching. Really making me want a 3d printer haha
They're pretty awesome!
Yes printed square truck body is too large…. Nice show nonetheless!
Thanks for watching!
Again, thanks for the great content. I’m really liking the hilux and it would be great if all your details can be added and use on the vs410. Looking forward to that coming alive.
Stay tuned!
What is the width of the wheels on the front with that I beam kit?
I would call it a "FrankenTruck"!!! 😂😅😂 You are right! That body is TOO BIG!
The truck is clearly too small for that perfectly-sized body.
It would look great if you extend the wheelbase, though.
❤ the intro.

Killer projects!!❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
the ford body on that truck looks fine.
just say that it got “bobtailed” for performance purposes
😂
i also pledge with you, no more LEXAN!!!!! F it! Only plastics made from hardness. #allin
New sticker idea Matt, my 9 year old is running around saying run it up the butt crack 🤣🤣🤣 live stream was a blast last night
😂
New year, same intro. Good.
As for that body? Maybe do a 'bronco' with a cage back? 6x6?...Bleb?
...also where'd ya find that shipping container model? I've got a few ideas, all dumb of course.
Shipping container model was from Thingiverse. Tons to choose from!
Tamiya Tundra would look good on chassis imo..
Think the Capra trans would be really good for the proline I beam build your doing. Geared way higher. Should have more speed. 🤷🏻♂️
Certainly a higher ratio, but the skid is way wider! I’m going to stick with my plan, but thanks for the suggestion!

Hi! I want to make a scale garage, but my workshop is REALLY small so it would be challenging trying to find a place to store it when I'm not using it. I have to think on it!
How bad is the out gassing or smell with printing ABS? I wanna try it, but have been told it is very pungent....
The X1 Carbon has a filter system and is enclosed, so there's not much odour or fumes. I still keep it in a closed room, for the sake of my health, just in case.
What are you going to use for the windshield? Lexan?
I know, someone else pointed that out! 🙄 😂
I can smell the BRG from here... 😁
you will end up getting a Lexan body on that build... around day 6. Does it really count if you just grab the Lexan body off of an RTR to use?
😂 People are placing bets, I'm sure!
Just increase the wheelbase and you can fit the body and the transmission
Not that simple, as this chassis is designed specifically around the wheelbase it was designed for.
What about the Toyota body on the first 2wd chassis you showed and thanks for the video I love watching you build stuff keep up the great work man
Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for watching!
@@scalebuildersguildyour welcome man thanks for all the videos I love watching you build stuff
Think that body would be a great as bronco setup
Try and make it look like a Suzuki samurai or sidekick pre runner
I think that body would be great but maybe drop a scale or 2...
Scale Printer's Guild? 😜
Mabe, you can make the I beam build a stepside?
When are we going to see a hard body drift car! I’m needing some inspiration. I will hopefully be building one this year
Drift needs a lot less weight to work well. The heavier the car the harder it has to work. I might try it, just to say I did.
@@scalebuildersguild I want to build a hard body drift car for a fun, just for a shits & giggles thing with a hilarious amount of body roll. I’m loving my rdx at the moment and it’s a seriously good chassis, but I also love the not serious side of the RC hobby!
A quality hardware store can cut things in wood for nice customers fyi.
You need skis and trax on this rig
That Ford body is way too big...
That chassis should go Jeepspeed Cherokee.
More gooder is much betterer. 👍🏼
Are you going to use the rc/PC to haul the shipping container?
Ha! That's long gone!
@scalebuildersguild I thought I heard you say that before but I wasn't sure hahahaha.
Could't you just scale the body smaller in the slicer? You might wanna try running short course tyres for less rolling over.
How about naming it Sappho, for the scissoring action 😆
Oh yes, scaling is not an issue at all.
So many "that's what she said" opportunities in the I beam part alone
😂
Could you stretch the chassis to suit the body?
I could, but I won't be doing that to this chassis!
Really cool.
3:10 PreRunner?
I think you will never last long on "No Lexan", Some manufacture will send you a RTR and you will take it. Thus the end of "No Lexan".
I know, I know, and don't forget about windows and windshields!
Praise Beams. 2 speed for faster I -Beams things. Lol
Yes, i agree. the ford body is to big.😁
Ironman Stewart
I feel like a mid-mounted motor would be better for a vehicle that's going to be taking jumps. I hope this thing doesn't nose dive on you
Hence why I’m putting a big heavy battery and tube work in the back! 😉
@@scalebuildersguild 😎🤙🏽
I look forward to your attempts to create windows without using lexan this year
Hadn't thought of that
Hmmmm... I think I might have to adjust my resolution 😂.
Wher do we get the grill for the yota
crawl_nyc on Thingiverse
Thanks you
Love your videos💪
Thank you!
Matt. I have a concern that the numbers on the 'lexan' board are made from Lexan. Can you confirm yes or no ?
3D printed. Not to worry!
I see a completely new lexan body in the near future from sbg
Do you know where or when the i beams will be available again they are sold out everywhere😭
Sorry no, you’ll just have to wait.
I don’t get it! Help me out. What’s the point of the beams system?
Its pre runner suspension.
Like a trophy truck pre runner long travel suspension
Just an alternate form of suspension. Pretty popular on old trucks and Pre-runners because it offers a ton of suspension travel.
Man I was hoping you would at least watch a few videos on full size prerunners before doing the next one. Your def in a strange direction with those frame rails parts selection and geometry.
Performance is often the last thing I concern myself with, if at all. 🤣
you would call it a pre runner truck
