I love love love this video!! This was exactly the processes we followed when we adopted our boy. It definitely took a long time to find a breeder who would check off all of the boxes, but, so worth it! Overall it took 3 years from the time I started my research to when our breeder had a puppy ready for us. I would not change a single thing!

This video just made me feel a lot more comfortable knowing that real people would be more than willing to answer questions or concerns that a buyer might have. I was worried that asking for video calls to view the pups or asking questions about the parents might annoy a breeder but also this video solidifies the idea that if it feels off in my gut that it is more than likely a scam.

little tip, if you think you are being scammed, ask the breeder for a piece of paper with your name on it by the puppy. if they say ‘pay first’ it’s a scam. your welcome :)
@@jf6962 my family was actually looking into getting a frenchie. we found the perfect puppy. we asked them to do a video call and they declined. another thing i recommend is puppyfind. not puppy finder. that’s where we got our little groot and we love him. he’s a frenchton with is a frenchie and boston terrier mix. :D

Definitely helped tone down the gas and burps for our pup! And can you possibly do a video on BOAS and the surgery for it? I feel like a lot of people get French Bulldogs because of how they look and their personalities but don't do enough research on possible health issues they may carry (if not doing research in DNA Health testing from their breeders) Thanks for the awesome videos!
I like your information you’re putting out I do disagree with meeting in a public place a breeder does want anyone knowing where they live because fear of them being robbed my opinion especially expensive breads
I recently got 2 frenchies and before I got them I ran into a lot of scams. I wanted to see them in person so if they tell you no thats another sign. I drove 12 hours for one and 8 hours for the other one. Plus does your frenchie have a strong hormone level? (I have 4 male dogs 2 frenchies and 2 boxers) My oldest frenchie 9 months REALLY loves my 11 year old boxer and my 3 month old frenchie is starting to show the same signs. My 11 year old boxer is fixed but the others are not.
What about if I find a dog and the owner gives me all the info of shot records of the puppy and I call to verify and the vet confirms the records name of owner and name of dog and than we FaceTime and I see the same puppy and it’s the same one on the ad and than I tell them to get me a health checkup at the vet before they sell it and I call to verify with the vet and they confirm should I still buy it? The pet is 3.5 hrs away but she’s willing to meet me half way from my house at the vets place. All for $1200 for a male 20 week old brindle full breed frenchie?
Not sure but most breeder I talked to dint want to meet at there place because they were scared to get roped. So many frenchies are getting stolen, so not so sure if that is a good tip
Yeah I read this in the groups too. Personally I think if your to scared of your customers coming into your home you aren’t vetting them properly. Hey I bought a female French bulldog and they claimed she was CKC register and now they're ignoring my texts They said because of covid it will take a month. I haven't received anything I paid $4,000 for and eight months ago I bought a non-registered one off them for $1,800. I'm trying to take them to small claims court but don't know how much to take them for I am looking to breed my male and female but if they're not registered I will only get about 2000$ a dog if they were registered I would get like 6k. I have recently heard of breeders being injured/killed and their dogs and puppies stolen. As a woman my instinct is to meet at the police station for pick up. Personally I don't want strangers in my home. I'm all for video chats and things to make sure someone is legit.
What’s the average price to pay? I’ve heard. $2500-6500 but quite a few have quoted 1200-1500. Is that legit? I’ve only ever looked on Instagram n have been scammed twice w the very warnings u said. Scams work both ways. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving my address out especially when no money is involved. I don't want someone to come to my house and stick a gun in my face. I wouldn't discount a breeder because they won't give an address.
If your a breeder then you need to properly vet your customers before letting them into your home... or just be a better judge of character. Relationship and trust doesn’t come from a few days mail exchanges
@@Peter-Kramm I am not a breeder I have a 16yo pit bull and we put a deposit on a puppy - 2 actually. Buyers should not be encouraged to go to someone's house. Having a big man with you is a very chauvinistic way of viewing protection... no offense. What if they have a gun? What if there are 5 of them? Forget the puppy, they might try to sell you next then your bestie you brought with you.. Meeting people in a public place with a lot of security/cameras is much safer regardless of gender. (inside a bank, outside a police station, or outside the security office at the mall to name a few) Also, don't buy the puppy the first time you see it. Walk away. Better yet...get a cheek swab and run the DNA. I didn't meet my seller. I put a deposit on the puppies halfway across the county because I trust them.
@@jf6962 if a buyer doesn’t go to the breeders home, how are they going to get contact with the seller when things go wrong? What if after you take the dog home it turns out it’s suffering from a spinal deformity, or neurologist disorder? As the buyer, without knowing who or where the dog is from, how are you suppose to follow up and get any sort of support? I’m sorry if my slight sarcasm in my video came across to literal and chauvinistic for you but I will argue that having an extra person with you will reduce the risk of any of things happening that you listed. Good luck trying to convince any breeder to let you take a cheek swab of their dog before purchase - that wouldn’t ever happen. If someone is so afraid of be assaulted or robbed for a dog then maybe they shouldn’t be getting a dog. I’m not sure where you live, but where I’m from in Toronto we don’t have a lot of these kind interactions between buyers and breeders. Seems like a the flaw is with how each party is getting eachother.
@@Peter-Kramm if a breeder won't let me do a cheek swab major red flag. This can easily get done at my vet's office with a complete check up. Like you said...you gotta vet the people. No punn intended. Vetting takes time. Scammers want to rush everything. Taking a puppy to the buyer's vet prior to purchase should not be a deal breaker. The puppy may be sold before the results come back but it can give you a lot of information about the breeder which is even more important. People focus too much on the puppy, they should be watching the breeder. People buy puppies from YOU. They like YOU. That's why I love UA-cam.
I'm researching breeders now and I don't need an exact address but I'd like to know a state at least. I'm in GA so I'd like to know ahead of time if I'm looking at a few hour drive or a few days to bring puppy home.
I wish I had this video to watch back in February when I started looking for a Frenchie! I was scammed out of over $1,500 and devastated emotionally. I was just so new at all of this and could not believe someone would do that. I felt so stupid. BUT...I did finally find a genuine breeder who was looking to rehome a beautiful 2.5 year old male frenchie! I am so happy to have him and it worked out perfectly! Thank you for educating. Who knew getting a dog took so much research and skepticism to avoid scammers!
hello,its so sad how people do all this crazy things,scams online.i was scammed of $4500 cause i made payment of 2 husky puppies for my mother and daughter but nothing ever got delivered besides the stupid scammer blocked me on instagram after receiving confirmation of my payment,it had me bothered and worried i couldnt get my mom the gift she will love the most that is the puppy.i came up to my husband and told him after i was scammed $4500,very sad on his shoulder he told me that i can recover my money back and i was shocked,he said hack_sting on instagram is a legit hacker and will have my money refund in 24hrs,i didnt hesitate i DM hack_sting and he got my $4500 recovered and refunded back to me after asking me some questions and also i sent him proof of payment.im so thankful to hack_sting on instagram,he is legit and i recommend him for anyone who wants there money recovered.
There were SO many breeders that said they were breeding for over 10 years, BUT had NO reviews (?!?) Not even 1. I was like, Next! BUT As per usual: Excellent Video!!!
People get robbed at gun point for dogs, or people find out where u live and will come in and take all ur dogs, agree with all besides the meeting in public thing
Yes there is that that aspect from the breeders side. But any reputable breeder will have a track record and some reviews to back them up. And the breeder should be doing their research and due diligence on the potential new owners to see if they are fit to own one of their dogs.
That’s problem with these days. Can you make any suggestion for me? I’m motorcyclist and I want to meet puppies in person period. How do I get the breeder agree to bring at least three females puppies? So I can test the interactive with them and see if they like me and my motorcycle. It’s impossible to bring someone to come with me and meet breeder at their home. Any tips for it??? Because I won’t adopt off from the image based on looks. I prefer puppy picks me. So, that way we can get along this way.
I came to learn something, but kept getting pushed away by dude repeatedly saying: do your own research, so your own research, do your own research. Waste of time.
Only buy from a breeder who raised them in a family environment and kc papers are only worth the bother if you’re intention is to breed or show your dog/pet . We had previously bought from a breeder as did friends of which both was raised outside either in a barn and a kennel only to find out that they were no use inside the house or with kids and both were very notoriously hard to train / toilet train as they were quite comfortable in their own mess from a young age with no or next to no interaction with kids or people. There’s breeding and there’s puppy’s farming ! Family bread pups are cared for and loved from the get go . Healthy well cared for loving pups . While some breeders breeding for money treat the pups as a income and create a nervous unsettled pup who can’t adjust to their new family lives so easily.
Why is that dumb? I think it’s dumb if you Meet someone else other then the breeders home. If the buy meets them at a parking lot and they get ripped off: sells them a mixed breed, sick puppy, or forged documents. How is the buyer suppose to validate where and who they bought their dog from ? Furthermore, even if there is a contract, how are you going to know if the information is valid? I also live in Canada, I’ve sold over 80 dogs and had 90% of them come to my house and not once have I ever felt threatened that I was going to get robbed or violated.
@@Peter-Kramm maybe that works in Canada but no. People steal!! I know breeders who’ve had their homes burglarized and whole litters stolen. I would never show a stranger where I lay my head at night. Public places are the safest for everyone. I don’t know a single breeder who allows stranger to come to their home

You will be surprised how good these people are at editing pics and vids. Live video and ask them to do something very specific.

What’s the average price to pay? I’ve heard. $2500-6500 but quite a few have quoted 1200-1500. Is that legit? I’ve only ever looked on Instagram n have been scammed twice w the very warnings u said. I started doing research n have gotten different advice on price n finding a good breeder. The broken English butter me up TRUST ME I always hear! What about buying from overseas w good looking website that say the cost is for vaccinations akc registration and flight to the us? flying legit or not? $1200-1500 legit or not? Scams work both ways. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving my address out especially when no money is involved. I don't want someone to come to my house and stick a gun in my face. I wouldn't discount a breeder because they won't give an address.
If your a breeder then you need to properly vet your customers before letting them into your home... or just be a better judge of character.
Relationship and trust doesn’t come from a few days mail exchanges
@@Peter-Kramm I am not a breeder I have a 16yo pit bull and we put a deposit on a puppy - 2 actually. Buyers should not be encouraged to go to someone's house. Having a big man with you is a very chauvinistic way of viewing protection... no offense. What if they have a gun? What if there are 5 of them? Forget the puppy, they might try to sell you next then your bestie you brought with you.. Meeting people in a public place with a lot of security/cameras is much safer regardless of gender. (inside a bank, outside a police station, or outside the security office at the mall to name a few) Also, don't buy the puppy the first time you see it. Walk away. Better yet...get a cheek swab and run the DNA. I didn't meet my seller. I put a deposit on the puppies halfway across the county because I trust them.
@@jf6962 if a buyer doesn’t go to the breeders home, how are they going to get contact with the seller when things go wrong? What if after you take the dog home it turns out it’s suffering from a spinal deformity, or neurologist disorder? As the buyer, without knowing who or where the dog is from, how are you suppose to follow up and get any sort of support? I’m sorry if my slight sarcasm in my video came across to literal and chauvinistic for you but I will argue that having an extra person with you will reduce the risk of any of things happening that you listed.
Good luck trying to convince any breeder to let you take a cheek swab of their dog before purchase - that wouldn’t ever happen. If someone is so afraid of be assaulted or robbed for a dog then maybe they shouldn’t be getting a dog.
I’m not sure where you live, but where I’m from in Toronto we don’t have a lot of these kind interactions between buyers and breeders.
Seems like a the flaw is with how each party is getting eachother.
@@Peter-Kramm if a breeder won't let me do a cheek swab major red flag. This can easily get done at my vet's office with a complete check up. Like you said...you gotta vet the people. No punn intended. Vetting takes time. Scammers want to rush everything. Taking a puppy to the buyer's vet prior to purchase should not be a deal breaker. The puppy may be sold before the results come back but it can give you a lot of information about the breeder which is even more important. People focus too much on the puppy, they should be watching the breeder. People buy puppies from YOU. They like YOU. That's why I love UA-cam.
I'm researching breeders now and I don't need an exact address but I'd like to know a state at least. I'm in GA so I'd like to know ahead of time if I'm looking at a few hour drive or a few days to bring puppy home.

I wish I had this video to watch back in February when I started looking for a Frenchie! I was scammed out of over $1,500 and devastated emotionally. I was just so new at all of this and could not believe someone would do that. I felt so stupid.
BUT...I did finally find a genuine breeder who was looking to rehome a beautiful 2.5 year old male frenchie! I am so happy to have him and it worked out perfectly!

hello,its so sad how people do all this crazy things,scams online.i was scammed of $4500 cause i made payment of 2 husky puppies for my mother and daughter but nothing ever got delivered besides the stupid scammer blocked me on instagram after receiving confirmation of my payment,it had me bothered and worried i couldnt get my mom the gift she will love the most that is the puppy.i came up to my husband and told him after i was scammed $4500,very sad on his shoulder he told me that i can recover my money back and i was shocked,he said hack_sting on instagram is a legit hacker and will have my money refund in 24hrs,i didnt hesitate i DM hack_sting and he got my $4500 recovered and refunded back to me after asking me some questions and also i sent him proof of payment.im so thankful to hack_sting on instagram,he is legit and i recommend him for anyone who wants there money recovered.
There were SO many breeders that said they were breeding for over 10 years, BUT had NO reviews (?!?) Not even 1. I was like, Next!

The reviews don’t lie! You can really tell which ones are authentic and which are fake.
People get robbed at gun point for dogs, or people find out where u live and will come in and take all ur dogs, agree with all besides the meeting in public thing
Yes there is that that aspect from the breeders side. But any reputable breeder will have a track record and some reviews to back them up. And the breeder should be doing their research and due diligence on the potential new owners to see if they are fit to own one of their dogs.

That’s problem with these days. Can you make any suggestion for me? I’m motorcyclist and I want to meet puppies in person period. How do I get the breeder agree to bring at least three females puppies? So I can test the interactive with them and see if they like me and my motorcycle. It’s impossible to bring someone to come with me and meet breeder at their home. Any tips for it??? Because I won’t adopt off from the image based on looks. I prefer puppy picks me. So, that way we can get along this way.

I just got my frenchie and are dog had bombs on her head so we paid the breeder to go to a vet she was fine by the way just be careful
Only buy from a breeder who raised them in a family environment and kc papers are only worth the bother if you’re intention is to breed or show your dog/pet . We had previously bought from a breeder as did friends of which both was raised outside either in a barn and a kennel only to find out that they were no use inside the house or with kids and both were very notoriously hard to train / toilet train as they were quite comfortable in their own mess from a young age with no or next to no interaction with kids or people. There’s breeding and there’s puppy’s farming ! Family bread pups are cared for and loved from the get go . Healthy well cared for loving pups .
While some breeders breeding for money treat the pups as a income and create a nervous unsettled pup who can’t adjust to their new family lives so easily.

Meet someone else other then the breeders home. If the buy meets them at a parking lot and they get ripped off: sells them a mixed breed, sick puppy, or forged documents. How is the buyer suppose to validate where and who they bought their dog from ? Furthermore, even if there is a contract, how are you going to know if the information is valid?
I also live in Canada, I’ve sold over 80 dogs and had 90% of them come to my house and not once have I ever felt threatened that I was going to get robbed or violated.
@@Peter-Kramm maybe that works in Canada but no. People steal!! I know breeders who’ve had their homes burglarized and whole litters stolen. I would never show a stranger where I lay my head at night. Public places are the safest for everyone. I don’t know a single breeder who allows stranger to come to their home
