    You've made a real good job of that, mate. You don't know how envious I am!! I reckon the Triumph 500s will take some beating for all round performance. Gotta say, tho, I'm not a big fan of the exhaust, much prefer the twin hi pipes. But the bike's a credit to you. Brilliant.

    I really enjoy watching the old Triumphs, got four of my own, here in the states, only two together and running right now. The "wrong side of the road" always gets me though. Thanks for sharing that.

      @@yorkshirebiker1293 My older sister dated a guy with a Ducati 160 in high school, early seventies, I bought a Ducati 250 and ran it till 77 when I got a 37 WLA and ended up selling it and about six other bikes in 83. After I lost my wife to m.s. four years ago, I began buying bikes again, bought a 78 Triumph last year and now have four old Harleys and four old Triumphs which I'm going through and rebuilding to get back on the road again. Really enjoyed your "road trip" you just posted. Never been to England but have enjoyed it vicariously with "Old biker" and a couple others who posted. Thanks for that!

      @@yorkshirebiker1293 I've moved on, got the money to deal with Triumphs these days and I'm putting three back together, one for my niece, a nice "little" T100. It's coming together nicely, just a bit of chasing parts in odd places. Got another T100 and a 140 with a single carb. Might try to shoehorn it into a space T100 chassis. I prefer the old frames to the oil in frame types.

      I am not to displeased with it, a little short of power, a little weep on rear push rod tube, but nice and easy to start and fun for a run round local.

    What a nice bike. You’ve made a cracking job of that. I have always liked the Triumph 500’s since my next door neighbour bought one about 1977, to go with his T160. Sadly,I have never had the skills required to make or keep a British bike up to scratch.
    As far as costs are concerned, you may have spent a few quid getting it to its current state, but you will have the confidence of knowing the condition of the engine. I have watched many UA-cam vids, by restorers/repairers, where someone has paid a lot of money for a bike & it’s just has a minor issue that needs sorting. One complete engine strip & rebuild later, the bike then justifies its original cost!

    • @yorkshirebiker1293
      @yorkshirebiker1293  Рік тому

      I know that too well, i bought a triumph cheep, and it turned out to not be so cheep. I spent plenty to get it up to spec.

    I had the same model back in 72 lived on that bike and had great times on it. The smaller front brake was great. It handled very well and i often rode it as fast as i could

    You’ve done a good job with this bike. Back in ‘64 I had the same problem with my 650ss Norton, after a few miles riding it would cut out but after resting for a bit it was ok again ….for another few miles. Turned out to be a blocked fuel cap vent, possibly chrome cleaner. After a bit of poking with wire and blowing through I got it fixed. Unusual problem eh?
    Keep up the good work with the bikes and the videos. Do you watch ‘The mighty garage’ on UA-cam ? Run by a Brit based in Oregon USA…..lot of great old British bikes on the channel (apologies if you are already a subscriber!). Cheers

      @yorkshirebiker1293  Рік тому

      Yes I've watch a few of his video's. What through me with the fuel cap id put a drill through from both sides, was sure that was not the problem. i suppose that was my second mistake THINKING

      East coast models have a wide ratio box, parts are not so easy, west cost model have the same box as the Daytona, so parts are not to bad to find, Hope all goes well, and you get the problem sorted soon. YB

    Lovely looking bike, I hope that the Tiger 100 that I'm currently building turns out half as good as yours. I'm thinking about fitting a siamese Hi-level pipe, because I think they look ace,. Could I ask, were your's hi-level as standard ?

    • @yorkshirebiker1293
      @yorkshirebiker1293  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, all the T100c had Hi-level pipes , i think. They were the most ill fitting pipes I've ever fitted, whish id used the Siamese pipes instead. I've now fitted the bread basket guard, after taking the wife on the back, not pretty YB
