Quincy Wilson, an 12-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, dropped a 51.78 second 400 meter race on Friday during the first day of adidas Indoor Nationals in Virginia Beach.
It marked an amazing improvement from his previous performance on the Virginia Beach Sports Center track in December, when the Track 757 athlete authored a time of 56.36 at the VA Beach Club Opener.
As far as records are concerned, though, Wilson still has some room to grow. But he does at least compare to the current USATF age 11-12 record holder Bryce Love, who posted a time of 50.75 seconds in 2009. Love graduated Wake Forest (NC) High School in 2015.

He's 12 years old running high school times...... I pray they don't burn him out and focus on "quality over quantity" 👀🙏

And that's on a indoor track. Tighter curves. Probably equivalent to a 51 flat on the outdoor track. I ran in the Junior Olympics decades ago, and even a 51 is amazing for 13-14 year old age group. The National winner usually running a 49. Quincy should be running a 49 when he is 12 or 13.

the thing is these phenoms from 14 and below will peak out. Also they probably started young and this is my first year. and im running fast for more age like right now i have the potential to run 12.9 in the 100 meters. but right now im running 13.3 or 13.4 but that is good and decent for my age and for my level. So that means i wont peak out. I could still if i doing extreme workouts but i dont. That means when im 16 i will run very fast.

    • @bowhunter8532
