Thank you for this video, for the explanation of Warlpiri values, and also of preserving this clip of the language by having it explained in Warlpiri with English translations.

excellent teachings. Why isnt this being taught in our communities?? Money shouldnt even come into it as it is not way of life. This should be taught to all people that live in the land of the Native Australian's. Bring untity and peace back into our communties. The government wont fund this as then they wont have control. The true people will.

I entirely understand the fear fear of losing one's identity, the threat that "we will disappear as Warlpiri people". That is entirely justified, my own people went through a period of fighting for our cultural survival and it is a harrowing experience.
On the other hand, I certainly oppose the notion to see "marrying to the wrong skin group" as evil. That notion has been the foundation of scientific racism, the same racism that has been used against the Warlpiri and native people around the world.
There is a common misconception that native racism is less evil than white racism, because the native communities have less power. Yet racism is a problem not of power, but a problem of principle. To embrace any form of racism is to open the door to evil, past and present.

The term ‘skin group’ is not literally skin colour. Indigenous Australian nations often have their own seperate groups, a moiety system. He is not saying you shouldn’t marry people of a different skin colour
