It cannot get any better than this….oh how I miss attending the concerts…..regularly….and listening firsthand to this fantastic band….the absolute best ❤
My son had died and I was searching, searching for a song that could portray my grief, and somehow I was lead to this incredible man, and when I heard him sing "Sand and Water" my search ended. God bless
i have never experienced the loss of a child. hard to conceive of many things that would cause deeper grief. listening to this song, thinking of your son, you, your family, made my heart hurt.
It's a beautiful song, with a beautiful singing voice. Though in my grief of my loved ones passing. I have never been alone. Jesus is always with me, to heal and comfort me and bring new life to live on ... Jesus was there, when I was formed in my mother's womb. He was there, when I was born and He will be there, in my acceptance of Him, when I pass on into the beautiful Kingdom of Heaven. Where I will live eternally...Bless you...
It is... I knew John and saw him sing at our live music club several times. His remains the best male voice I have ever heard live. I think of my Estonian mother when I hear this song. She died long before John became famous - and before this song was written - but she would have loved it, and his singing so much.

Sublime, a wonderfully poignant song rendered superbly by consumate musicians and John Wright's peerless vocals.
This is so quietly and beautifully sung. The violin and guitar are also perfect. Thanks for this moving post.
What a stunning cover.
Just so beautiful, and a voice that I could listen to for hours.

LYRICS // All alone, I didn't like the feeling
All alone, I sat and cried
All alone, I had to find some meaning
In the center of the pain I felt inside
All alone, I came into the world
All alone, I will someday die
Solid stone is just sand and water, baby
Sand and water, and a million years gone by
I will see you in the light of a thousand suns
I will hear you in the sound of the waves
I will know you when I come, as we all will come,
Through the doors, beyond the grave
All alone, I heal this heart of sorrow
All alone, I raise this child
Flesh and bone, he's just
Bursting towards tomorrow
And his laughter fills my world, and wears your smile
All alone, I came into the world
All alone, I will someday die
Solid stone is just sand and water, baby
Sand and water, and a million years gone by
