Gloss neck came in 2014 for the first time on Vintage Modified Jazz Basses, I prefer the gloss neck, but if you prefer the satin one, you should try the 2013 and below models.
@@TheToneLounge It's not just you. It's all of youtube. Once upon a time people used jazz bass because it was great for cutting through in rock songs. I've looked at like 50 jazz bass videos now and noone plays a basic rock tone with a jazz bass. They either always use fingers or mute it when they play with a pick.

Just got the lefty version a couple of weeks ago. Love it!
Pretty cool basses huh?
I bought one 4 years ago and it’s been fantastic from day one.
Squire is really making killer instruments for the price point. Which colour did you get?
@@TheToneLounge I’m a lefty, so there was just Tobacco Sunburst. Prob would have been my choice, anyway 👍

Thanks for the information! I’ll see if I can try one. Cheers
I am a neck pup guy on jazz basses, it sounds like a Precision and has a slimmer neck which fits my hand better.
They are both great basses. I love how smooth a jazz is, but the P-bass has so much snarl to it.
please talk about the another one.. squier vintage modified precision bass. is it affordable or not?
I’ll add it to the list of reviews! Thanks for the recommendation!
thanks for the information great video. who did set up for you, and what type of string did you using ?
I set it up myself, which was pretty easy to do. As far as strings are concerned, I used Ernie Ball 2836. Cheers
Thanks for the info.
My pleasure buddy!
Erny ball 2836 is for 5 string bass the package is green. Those are the ones
Hard to beat a countryman DI and a Jbass. Its like beans and cornbread.
Love that comparison!
Th plastic protective cover of the pick ups was not removed..?....does it affect the sound ??
It was a rental, so I did not remove them. To answer your question, removing or leaving it on has no impact on the sound. Cheers
@@TheToneLounge awesome!!!!
Thank you
You're welcome
hello sir. How to removed the volume knobs and tone knob?
You mean the pickup wired straight to the output jack?
By next week this beauty will be in my house..😋
That’s awesome! It’ a great bass at this price point.
I thought the VMs were made of soft maple
I got my information on the Long&McQuade site. Perhaps I made a mistake? I'll look into it and will get back to you.
Like #113rd and Subscribed....Thanks for Ur honest video reiview. But I think the Tone Knob is not problem. Its Okay
That L&M sticker.
It’s actually a Fender sticker ;)
alnico 5 pups=growl, now used in fender player series
Sweet! I did not know that.
Why would you mute it when playing with a pick? Why is there not a single normal jazz bass review with a pick? This is getting annoying
Because that is how that song is played.
