I grab one for $5 and great condition, It's really fun to use. I used one of my synths and works good but don't expect to have a super controller, but hey for $5 can't complaint.
please please please make a tutorial on how to set it up, i can't get mine to work for me & there is no tutorials on the whole of the internet on how to do it :(
Thank you for showing this. Have you also tried the YouRock Guitar? Your thoughts? comparisons? I cam here from another video about the YouRock guitar and someone wrote about this guitar in the comments so I went searching for "Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar" and found you. I own several guitars that have 13-pin Roland connections and I play guitar modelers and guitar synths (VG-88, GR-33. GR-55, Axon...) regularly.
The strings you pluck look fairly similar, but the neck on the YouRock is definitely better. It's a moulded, touch sensitive stiff rubber material as opposed to individual buttons. Much better for slides. You can also set the YouRock to Tap mode, so you can trigger the notes by just using the fretboard, as opposed to picking/strumming. It also has a whammy bar. The YouRock has *zero* technical support or software updates, but you can find the basic software and manuals online if you look hard enough. I'd you're interested in digital guitars, check out the Instrument 1 by Artiphon. It's not the best guitar style midi controller, but you can use it a bunch of different ways, so it's a good one for travelling. Another one that seems quite good is the Jammy guitar. Haven't played one yet, but it's my next purchase.
El cable Bluetooth usb que se conecta a esa guitarra ¿no sirve para conectarlo a la pc? Y así seguir usando la guitarra de forma inalambrica. ¿Pregunto?
It is unfortunate the Madcatz manual section is down on their site. It is impossible to get the midi manual... And since Madcatz is now out of business...
@@brendenroumaya8376 I thought I would play around with it again, the only fix I see if using a program that can control MIDI information. There was a couple of apps being developed for some of these oddball controllers, but none of them have been made public afaik, so you are still stuck using the bridge to mute the MIDI altogether without such a fix unfortunately. I might take a stab at building something, if I do I will post the info online.,
from what I've tested so far, I think it's an issue with whatever midi module/synth you're plugging it into. Each of the "strings" is on one midi channel. My old yamaha module from 87 can't seem to do anything but high "e", but my roland pma-5 and my yamaha mu-5 utilize all 6 strings. still testing more modules/synths
I'm looking at this thing because it's a pretty killer deal.... 50 bucks on Amazon... My question is could I plug it into an analog synth Moog Minitaur.
each string should be a different midi channel. Open your sound 6 instances of your instrument in kontakt, set each channel to a different transposition should work.6th string +24 = 1st string, 5th string +14 = 2nd string, 4th string + 5= 3rd, 3rd - 5, 2nd -14, 1st - 24. same sound work for any alternate tunings
You know what? He shouldn't even have made this video because not everyone might get one of these. You shouldn't have posted that comment either because not everyone might read it. I shouldn't have posted this reply either because you might not read it. Or maybe it's all fine?
just in case im totally not the millionth person to say how quiet this video is, im blown away by how impossibly hard it is to understand you because of how low the audio is by comparison to any other video on youtube ive been watching regarding this midi controller and the adapter stuff along with anything youtube wise in the past few days, i refuse to max the volume on my speakers and later regret it on the very next vid i watch lol
Thanks for making this video now 13 years ago. So cool that this existed in 2011. It was ahead of it's time for the price.

WOW! With MusicLab's RealEight plugins, you could automate those mutes this controller is missing with different velocities. Awesome idea
It's really nice, but I'm having issues with midi notes sticking. Do you know any way of addressing that issue?
This video is insane!!!!!
i jsut got one of these for $10 at goodwill. FUCK YES
Well I found one in great conditiin for $5.31 (tax included) at Goodwill too, so it means I beat you on this one, LOL!
Cheers!
Is there any possible way to change the set tuning on it ie standard to drop tuning . and is there any way to repair the strings if the break or pop?
did you ever find a way to change tuning? i have one of these guitars getting delivered in a few days

I have one that I have been trying to make work. Have you found a good manual any where?
Yes I eventually could. If you make a search there a some manuals repositories online....
Try "MIDI-OX", it show every midi input data as text. But that wont tell you button combinations for "secret" options.
how do you solve the hanging midi notes problem with this controller?
did you figure this out

Just press the start button, or maybe select.
Anyone know how to use this without sustain?
Cool stuff, Herb.

Yes. It has a standard 5-pin midi output.

garageband is mac only dumbass not for anything else but you can use a virtual machine to use mac osx which has garageband
Rock Band sucks, but that's awesome to use as a MIDI controller. You can totally show off with that.
