I have kess3 and I’m well aware of flex and AT as well as their pros and cons but I hear little to nothing about the new genius 20% of ecus on all these devices require bench. So what’s the vehicle list like? How many cars have u not been able to do
On this vehicle none due to it being one of mine and I wasn’t tuning it it was just a demonstration video of how to use the tool, but a GYS flash unit is my day to day battery support unit.
I would like to know , if there’s any token limits , or any limitations…. and if I can remap a client’s car on the road ( obviously sending the file to the Flash Manager , and receive the remapped file putting it in the car on the fly ) , or I must have a wired internet connection and use a PC , or a Mac … that’s what I want to know , because if I go visiting the clients at their homes , is much simplified than having a Lab , and wait for them coming to me …. you understand ? P.S. - give me a link to buy genius , having right instructions and the remapped files then … thanks !
On genius no token limits, genius is a stand alone unit for reading and writing files but on certain ecus it does require to be connected to the laptop with an internet connection ie (PCR2.1) due to the fact the Ecu needs unlocking which is done vie internet connection, it is still required to put the file on the laptop with flashpoint software to then send to the master, then when they send the tuned file back it needs importing to flashpoint and then exporting to the dimsport device from flashpoint so yes a laptop is still required.
Hi can you help im using the genius to read a map from a 2010 seat exeo tsi which i have mapped about 3 years ago with the same machine but now want to change the map for another however its only giving the option to id the file no read option. any ideas? ive tried other variants of the car and they say using wrong protocol. cheers
So this device read ecu file and save it , so I can send that to pc to tune like for stage 1 , after that get it back on this tool then write it again to car ?
Hi just wondering if you could answer a question for me I'm thinking of providing this service and I was wondering say I had a customer looking a dpf delete on a VW gtd and I paid for the file carried out the work everything is fine, then say next week I had another customer with seem type of car would I be able to reuse the file i bought for the previous car or would I need to buy another file
There is sites that can help figure out what ecu is equipped on the vehicle you are doing, failing that match the vehicles power output to the protocol and try ID it sometimes (not always) but sometimes when you try identify and you are on the incorrect protocol it will tell you which protocol to use
Hello yes it is a normal part of the process when using this tool, on my vehicle it does ask a lot more than most vehicles sometimes it may only ask you to do it around 3 times but for my vehicle it does ask a lot more than any other vehicle I have ever done, hope that helps.
@@kuripotech461 not a problem at all, correct this is a great tool for beginners, practically the same device as kess with all the same protocols just a stand alone tool during the reading and writing process which means it’s a lot more stable than kess.
@@DervTune i would agree to that since i myself am not so familiar with kess even tho i tried reading about it i just couldn't understand much about kess, maybe if I'll give more time i could digest little by little. But with this tool that you have it's practically automatically done. As for me a noob with these ECU programming thing, it will help me like a charm. However the cost of this is where I might not be able to handle well. Takea time to save too. 😁
@@kuripotech461 a lot of places will do finance on the tools which will help you pay it back over time, the remapping world is huge and the knowledge on it is never ending, definitely something you don’t pick up in a day mate, I have my general knowledge about it and know a fair bit but there is still loads for me to learn myself but if you have the time it’s definitely something i would suggest doing as for me and I think a lot of people will agree with me it’s not a job it’s a hobby :)

If you need to ask that kind of question then remapping is well beyond your ability’s .
