Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais wrote this masterpiece of British television. Both still alive into their mid 80s and apparently still writing. I’d love to see more of this fantastic series but without Bomber and Wayne it just wouldn’t be the same. Thank god for you tube because I still regularly watch it and often see the boom mic coming into shot but I still love it!

As fantastic that it was jimmy making this special appearance, It was slightly disappointing he didn't hang around after the show. @Marilyn1960s ..well he's always been known to be notoriously difficult to work with , and that's from cast and crew.. . Yes on the stage and on camera he seems down to earth but it's not all it seems. I'm friends with a number of the awp cast and it's no secret that things aren't all together tickerty boo, . At the main 40th Anniversary show in May this year Jimmy ruled how the show was run , and who was allowed where . In the circles that count , Eyes were rolled when it was said that Jimmy was " in charge " . He was not allowing any fans outside cast and crew to the aftershow party , even tho he wasn't there , but as a number of the cast know, I am a massive fan and they said I deserved to be there , so I did get into the aftershow party thanks to them . But Jimmy has nothing to do with the fans and is quite rude , refusing selfies and autographs. It's a real shame he's not like Oz.

Its a shame Jimmy Nail prefers not to interact with the fans much. anyone wanting an autograph or ask him something on his way out he's off like a shot. ive heard a lot of people say they were disappointed with how he will usually avoid people rather than have a little chat. on the other hand ive heard that Tim Healey is the exact opposite and is happy talk to people on the street. they say he's a very friendly bloke. Jimmy could do with a bit of coaching in PR.

I'm not taking away the talent, but it's the fans that support him which is what he should be grateful for , ,,, I'm sure he is , but just doesn't show it in the way the others as you said like Tim healy does. @scoobysienna yeah apparently the gig in May is said to be the biggest collection yet of cast and crew .. no names confirmed apart from Jimmy nail and Kevin whately,, I'd say Tim healy will be there for sure , and they reckon plenty of others so we shall see. Unless you've got a ticket already , it sold out within minutes ... ill be there ,, I couldn't be choosy about my seat but where ever I am ill try and get some film together to post on UA-cam.
Yeah that bit in series 3 when Bomber Says... he "wants to be part of something, like it used to be ,, it means a lot"..😪.. yep that was a moment that .

WOW... I don't need to explain how rare it is for Jimmy nail to give an appearance like this, to only 200 ticket holders, so don't you think the people who couldn't make it there are grateful that I filmed it so they could see it..... FFS
