I truly think Violet learning to ground so quickly is a reflection on how often and how much pain she has to block every single day just to get through the day. I also read Xaden's consistent worry about are you into this....just another view of the respect his dad taught him to have. He holds the door for Violet in the one scene. He consistently stands to the side or behind. It is all about respect and this is just another way of respecting her.
55:23 I have always thought something dark happens to Xaden and Liam at Tirvainne. Especially with how immediately after Liam mentions the duke to the king, the king says he’s a good man. Makes me think that he’s not a very good man, but I could be reading into it.
Agree! I am so scared to learn what being raised by the Duke was actually like for Liam and Xaden. And if we are all right and Sloane is deaf, I wonder if she was separated for Liam because the Duke wouldn't want a deaf child - like a stain on his image...
I will be so curious to learn more about their time there too! On the flip side, there's a theory that the Duke is actually secretly on the rebellion side, and helped make sure Xaden/Liam could go back to Aretia as they wished. Whichever end of the spectrum this Duke is on, it'll be interesting to find out!
2:01:42 - it says he can read recent memories but if Dain makes you think about the memory and brings it to the forefront of your brain is it recent again? Have you noticed that every time he is talking to Violet and reads her memories, he is talking about whatever he wants Violet to think about so he can see the memory?
Tairn 100% knew what he was doing when he started channeling to violet but didn't shield from her while mating with Sgaeyl. The dragons were totally playing matchmaker... 😏
I have a theory that the reason she could start grounding so quickly is because she has been "building a mental wall" around her pain. Which she references multiple times but the one I remember is the beginning of chapter 6! Love your guys videos!!❤
Maybe I'm not fully understanding but I thought about Dain's signet being recent memories is when you remember something he can see it. So it doesn't have to be recent memories that just happened just recent memories that Violet recalls. That's why Imogen is so important because she can wipe away memories so you can't remember how you know just that you know what you do. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I understood it 😅 Loving these longer podcasts!
And when violet asks xaden were u always this tall.. he answers her with something like.. no I was a child at some point.. ik they were talking about his height.. but something in my broke reading that.. like may be he was just not talking about his height but also the kind of life he had before all that rebellion and all.. may be he was telling her.. I was a child too just like u were... just like u were ur dad's princess.. I too was my dad's prince.. and then everything changed..!! Like one night he was a teenage boy loved and taken care of by his dad, and the next day he literally had the responsibility of 107 children on his back..!!! No more a child now.. This was my interpretation when I read that.. and i just cried thinking of all he went thro' just to save the life of those children..!!!! Xaden your the best..!!!!❤
Oh, dang, I wish I'd known the episodes drop on Sunday night. I'm so thirsty for updates 🥵 I'm so glad you'll be continuing reviewing books like these. Y'all have the best chemistry and energy. ❤❤
I'm relistening post IF- and Xaden relationship history here is Cat- which would totally account for his concern about emotions running high and.consemt in a really dark way when considering how car gets the things she wants
1:40:50 my first thought with the last "game" kinda was, that leadership wanted their riders to think about whats important to use against them to maybe get an idea what the ppl behind the wards want (because as Xaden said in first battle brief "what do we have that they want") and thats why there are no rules (regarding security clearance) bc the ppl raiding the boarders also dont ask for permission. but i could totally be off here😅
Are there any thoughts on the description of Jack's eyes when he is challenging and using his powers on Vi? "His sadistic grin and a red rim around his eyes" - Pg 295.
Speaking of the sparring scenes. After I finished the book I never wanted to get in decent shape more than now so my gf can talk about me the way Vi talks about Xaden.
I think VI’s father was working with the rebellion once he started to discover untruths. I also think that the possibility of Jesenia taking over where her father left off and she may have intentionally didn’t mark the report as classified. General Sorengail also may have wanted Vi to see it.
So…Maybe less and less dragons are bonding because people who were reported as dead are actually alive and thus still bonded with a dragon ? Maybe this was pointed out already ? Idk 😮😮
I wonder if Dain feels threatened by Violet's leadership skills? Will she have any leadership roles in IF? If she does not, will she have an unofficial leadership role in her squad/group where in maybe first years and others deffer or go to her willingly for help and advice and undermining Dains authority as a leader? I also wonder durring these chapters how often Dain touches others and getting info about Violet that undermines his second year authority?
Thank you for this podcast from one Colorado girl! I have an idea about the attacks on the boarder… Poromiel is attacking and not sticking to the trade agreement because they are looking for the material that powers the wards so they can kill the venin. Xaden confirmed that after we meet the flyers for the first time. Mira also says she saw dragons on the other side of the boarder in a battle… what if those weren’t dragons but wyverns and the things the venin are searching for bring down the wards and will make it so the venin would be able to channel in Navarre, and the Athebyne/Sumerton situations are hidden because it wasn’t Poromiel but venin that was attacking. The scroll for Sumerton never said it was gryphon flyers (Violet assumed) and in the letter concerning Athebyne the Major says with the raids they may be forced to abandon the post… later attacked by venin, plus why would the flyers attack a place that they do active trade with Navarre at?
I am happy to have found your channel! My comment has nothing to do with this episode but the last one (I think?) you were talking about xadens eyes being dark onyx (black) with gold flecks, which also parallels with tairn and andarna the black and gold dragons that violence bonds with🤪
01:50 Don't think Vi was being dumb when thinking that Lilith was using the Tyrish dagger as a letter opener. Over the course of history, it's not uncommon for members of "conquering" militaries to take items that had significance to the opposing side and use them for the most mundane purposes. Especially the higher ups. There have been instances of artifacts being used as doorstops, letter openers, coffee tables, garden ornamentation, etc. Kind of like a trophy they can show off subtly without having to crow about their superiority outright. Vi is from a military family and grew up in this culture. She's probably seen this kind of thing happen everywhere and in every military post where Lilith was stationed. Vi isnt being dumb, she's making assumptions based on what she's seen growing up (so the same thing we've all done). And Xaden giving her Tyrish daggers? Yeah, he'd do that. That's his culture and he's going to prefer those items as a way to subtly assert that he while he's playing the game, he's not drinking the Kool-aid. It's not like he explained the significance of them to Violet at the time.
I’m here for more It’s Always Sunny references!! 😂 Seriously, that show is a gem. Here’s an unhinged thought…. What is Colonel Aetos also has some mind/memory wielding power and was the one who discovered Violet’s dad’s research that led to him being killed…. ALSO… totally speculative and unhinged…. What if Colonel Aetos and Sorrengail have always been stationed together because they have mated dragons, BUT Lilith was in love with Violet’s dad before bonding with a dragon. That could thicken the plot for future books…
Thats such a great theory about Lilith and colonel aetos being stationed together always! Not just them being high up in ranks but that fact their dragons are bonded. I'm so wanting to see this now
Taken and saegyl was definitely just consequence of channeling because xaden talks about the rule around smoking and who every made the rule weren’t bonded to tairn and saegyl implying they get it on frequently lol
I think Violet’s wording is really important when saying that Xaden’s father put an arrow in Brennan’s chest. She doesn’t say that Brennan was killed and we know Brennan is a mender. Hmmmmmmm
You may want to reconsider the title shot-I’ve been recommending the channel and two friends thought the UA-cam video was just audio. I had to tell them to watch so them can see your reactions.
Thought about how Liam knows Brennan! Could it be like how Xaden says "I've been yours longer than you can imagine", and we're all assuming it's because of Brennan's stories? Maybe Liam "knows" Brennan because of Xadens stories??? Just a thought!!
I'm rereading foueth wing again after iron flame and listening to the podcast and man are you guys accurate with your iron flame predictions!!! Also this podcast is amazing esxpecially after the ending of iron flame!! Lots of love❤❤❤
I got hooked on your podcast via tiktok like directly after i read the book for the first time! Yall have given me so many new thoughts and theories that i wouldve never thought about! Im also fighting the urge to read the boon for a THIRD TIME in less than a full month 😅
Even as Wingleader, Xaden acknowledges at the end that he never felt capable of being a great leader, that Garrick was always better at rallying everyone. Humble AF which makes him even hotter BY THE WAY
Enjoying the podcast ladies; love your enthusiasm and attention to detail! Could you do this Gen X mom a favor and explain what Taking an L means? 😂. Sorry if you have and I missed it. I don’t speak Gen Z very well lol.
We're so so happy you love the sorry! We're happy to explain! From our understanding (we're not cool kids who know the hip lingo haha) its like "taking a loss" or looking bad!
These chapters are the ones where I started to get a suspicion that Brennan was alive. Also something to note about Violet’s dad (I forget if it’s in these chapters or not) but it says that he got really cryptic after Brennan died. What if Violet’s dad wanted to protect Brennan because they knew the truth & Brennan wanted to join the rebellion so Daddy Sorrengail helped hide him away in Aretia.
I haven’t read the book yet, still on my re-read for fourth wing (75% done!!), and I’m trying to slow it down knowing that the next book won’t be out for at least a year if not longer, BUT.. I my theory is that not all the “loyalists” are truly loyal to the King of Navarre and the ones who fostered Xaden/Liam, might be sympathetic to the revolution. And I believe they, or some other people who survived the burning of Aretia, saved/nursed/hid Brennan in Aretia and Brennan in turn helped re build Aretia while taking on a new name/identity for the world to protect the narrative.
The Immortal instruments and this book series has been my fav. TIM is def more of a teen read but I will always love it. Violet reminds me of Clary a whole lot
A thought about the significance of the “high altitude “ attacks: it’s possible even likely that some attacks attributed to griffin riders are actually wyvern and venin attacks misinterpreted or deliberately misrepresented as griffin attacks. After all griffin riders would likely be seen during these raids since they are defending the people outside the wards. Just a thought.
I agree with all the favorite moments! Especially all of the Liam moments and stop objectifying our wing leader! I know it was mentioned earlier but I also love the line Xaden said when violet woke up after fighting jack and he said "you turned oranges into a weapon violence?" And I loved that but seriously love every moment yall mentioned!
They got the box in Zaeden pov garack says that they are examine the box that has Liam family crest on it and they will find out either in a couple hours or day or so what was so important about the box I also think one of the dragons can sense certain magic which is why they were drawn to the box in the first place but we never found out what was in it.
Actually guys - the leadership could be using the challenge to TEST security (like many companies hire hackers to test their computers ) - Not thinking anything important is truly at risk! But showing yet again an underestimation of our girl Violet. Without her in the mix noone even knows where General Sorrengail's office is.
You also have to take into account who Dain's father is and how he was raised. She said that even when they were kids, he was always about the rules. If you are taught strongly on following the rules and that this is the truth of everything going on. It's ingrained in him. He doesn't know how to accept anything different.
I know we're waiting to talk about Xaden's mom, but.... i think she venin. Idk why it's just a feeling in my gut. Maybe she was protecting and took too much power or was mad at leadership and took too much or even just wanted to be super powerful and went that route.
Professor Carr really stands out to me as a potential rebellion sympathizer/member. Also all the references to studying Andarna/Feathertails and Violets unusual hair, maybe Lilith was experimented on while pregnant to learn more about venin. Could the notes be hidden in the book of fables? About to start my own reread in prep for 11/7 but wasn’t there something about a crystal dagger that could kill venin/wyvren?
Could Imogen's second signet be erasing memories and we don't know what her first signet is yet. And that she erased everyone minds but Violet's after they completed that task. IDK if this could be a possibility.
I want to understand Xaden’s inntinnsic abilities. What does it mean to read someone’s intentions. Also does his shadows allow him to listen in to peoples conversation?
Do you think Xaden’s mom ratted his dad and the rebels out and that’s why he doesn’t want to unpack that? And also why he feels responsible for the other kids who lost their parents? OR Maybe Mom went into hiding and is part of the leadership of the new wave of rebels? OR She’s just gone gone Idk 🤣
I have been thinking about xaden and violet….could they have possibly known each other as kids…like did xaden meet violet with her dad working under the theory was part of the rebellion… Or did theymeet when he got the 107 silver scars?
20min: Liam might not have a dragon, but Brennan did for more than 3 years, so they could have met in Aretia or anywhere else when doing secret missions. Same with Xaden, he would start Basgiath right when Brennan dies, so they must have met before?
So my theory around the dragon sex is that they had been tame together while he wasn’t channeling to Violet as she wouldn’t be able to shield… however he forgot to tell her this was a thing 😂
Does Liam know about the classified scroll but he hide it from violet? I mean clearly its the venin's doings/ ransacking the villages. But he chooses not to tell that information to violet? Please confirmm this
Personal head canon for where the daggers come from: Xaden made them. This book is made to get us all horny for him. Just imagine, Violet walks into the forge to find a chest naked Xaden with only a leather apron. His bicepts are strained and his body covered in sweat. I mean come on !! Has no one watched Arcane ?
I just wanna say I don’t think the leadership will try to keep Tairn and Sgaeyl parted since if they would they could weaken Violet and Xaden as I’m truly wanting to believe that Gen Sorrengail has some kindness in her cause if they do that they could loose a future ally if the venin become much more of a problem than they can handle since violets lightning will be useful!!!!!
A guy I was crushing on hard, I was 19 ( I'm from Canada) we had just finished a date. And he asked if he could kiss me. Obviously I wanted that. But dumb awkward me. Asked him why 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. Ughhh
I don’t think command has power over the dragons, therefore I don’t think they will be able to keep Sgael and Tairn apart. The dragons have more power than that
Imogen also has the signet of speed. When Violet & Imogen 1st spared, Dain yelled out that Imogen was using her powers. And the only thing she was doing was moving really fast.
1. Lesser powers still count as powers and she used a lesser power when she wasn’t supposed to. 2. The reason it seemed like she ‘blinked’ into position behind violet is that on her way to that position, she wiped violets memory of seeing her move
A big shoutout to Nicole's excellent narration skills! I love the dynamic and fun way she summarizes the chapters 💖
Pretty sure you just made her life with this comment - THANK YOU!

The laughing about the sizes of the relics 😂😂😂😂 its like wing span 😂😂😂😂
hahaha exactly what we thought!!
Lilith having a matching dagger makes me wonder if she’s the one who supplied Xaden with the ones he gave to violet 🤔
Possibly! It also makes us wonder how long she's had it, since the timing would play a big role in the circumstances
55:23 I have always thought something dark happens to Xaden and Liam at Tirvainne. Especially with how immediately after Liam mentions the duke to the king, the king says he’s a good man. Makes me think that he’s not a very good man, but I could be reading into it.

The Geralt of Rivia comment had me dying.. literally cackling aloud at work, but it’s so accurate!!! Now that’s all I hear when “he groans…” 😂

The recaps are my favorite. So unique 😂❤
See-Lexi’s face at “I’d get on my knees” is so worth the watch!!
Yes! Seeing their reactions is way more fun than just listening to the audio!!
Thank you for the feedback! (And appreciate you convincing your friends to watch.) We'll take that into account

I have absolutely loved listening to this podcast!!! Think you'll ever do one for Blood and Ash series?
I have just thought from the beginning that it was the Venice doing the outpost attacks while they are looking for the boxes and supplies.
BY THE WAY your podcast is keeping me sane until Nov 7th!!
Oh yayy! That means so much to us!
A thought about the significance of the “high altitude “ attacks: it’s possible even likely that some attacks attributed to griffin riders are actually wyvern and venin attacks misinterpreted or deliberately misrepresented as griffin attacks. Yes, Garrick’s dragon can seek and find runes
I'm so curious about the papers with numbers Violet thought was next year's budget, I don't think that's what it was. Any theory there?

Theory. Dain brought up the incident while touching her face to bring the memory up and trigger her to remember so he could read it.
I want to understand Xaden’s inntinnsic abilities. What does it mean to read someone’s intentions. Also does his shadows allow him to listen in to peoples conversation?
How long do you think it will take for vioto master her lightning power? Do you think she will become accurate before the final battle?
Do you think Xaden’s mom ratted his dad and the rebels out and that’s why he doesn’t want to unpack that? And also why he feels responsible for the other kids who lost their parents?
OR
Maybe Mom went into hiding and is part of the leadership of the new wave of rebels?
OR
She’s just gone gone
Idk 🤣
Lol love these ideas! We talk more about his mom in the AMA theory episode, and then will again in E8!
I think Xadens mom is alive. Its to weird to make it a "not going there" without it being currently part in the story
I have the thought that Xaden will die at some point and Violet will be able to bring him back - similar to how Naolin was able to do so for Brennan.
41:21 I’m now kind of hoping it was on purpose… lol
Can Dain see through their relics? If that's what's stopping foresight ect...
What if it wasn't Jacks power. What if he was channeling the source through Violet. Which is why his eyes are red ring around them
What a balance: the “weakest” human becomes the strongest rider ❤️🔥
So my theory around the dragon sex is that they had been tame together while he wasn’t channeling to Violet as she wouldn’t be able to shield… however he forgot to tell her this was a thing 😂
Does Liam know about the classified scroll but he hide it from violet? I mean clearly its the venin's doings/ ransacking the villages. But he chooses not to tell that information to violet? Please confirmm this
I wonder if Rebecca is listening to these podcasts and being like, shit these girls are going WAY too deep and finding ALL the plot holes....
I personally believe that relic size is correlated to wingspan 😏
I have a huge theory about the death prediction.
Is Violet going to be able to be away from Tairn for more than a few days because she has Adarna?
Great question! We have no idea haha
The dragons have more power than that
Right??? That's proven over and over again that the dragons do what they want.
Maybe no one saw tairn because he was in aretia and so xaden and sagyle could go and spend more time there while rebuilding
Oooohhhh possibly!!
And they hid the more important things at high altitude! And it is the venin attacking not the griffins
1:56:32 yk what it is haha

Imogen also has the signet of speed. When Violet & Imogen 1st spared, Dain yelled out that Imogen was using her powers. And the only thing she was doing was moving really fast.
1. Lesser powers still count as powers and she used a lesser power when she wasn’t supposed to.
2. The reason it seemed like she ‘blinked’ into position behind violet is that on her way to that position, she wiped violets memory of seeing her move
Must be the Colorado accent that makes some words they say sound weird. Haha.
