FINALLY!!!!!! I'm going to art school and I always felt I lived two separate lives, painting and just being apart of black culture. It feels good seeing someone black, with the combination of interest on a platform like the breakfast club, something I actually watch daily!
C.D. Jegbadai exactly! Love this!
Congtats...please check out my good friend (yeah I'm being yee here, but for good reason) Nathaniel Mary Quinn. His story. His work. Simply breathe taking and may, for u, be inspiring.
Go well brother....rooting for u.
Thanks for showing so much black excellence on the breakfast club. Especially outside of the entertainment industry.
Meta4z Official no such thing as black excellence. It's people excellence
Pac ...It can be whatever you want it to be in your mind. Over here it's Black Excellence and it is a such thing.
Meta4z Official I'm black and I ain't picking sides based off a color of a skin I see good and evil in people. Wish people can do the same.
Pac ...Youre absolutely entitled to your views and there are lots of people who agree with you. Some of those people share your skin color but that shouldn't matter to you. Black Excellence matters to me because, as this young brother mentions, there is a lack of black representation in many American ways. You're not wrong nor do I believe you have evil intentions. But you have to understand that my views are mine and take my word when I say my intentions are good.
Pac .... There is good and evil in everything. Some people who share your views have evil intentions. Some people who share my views have evil intentions. From a good and evil stand point I don't agree with people who share my points of view using it for evil. And ironically, I agree with people who share your point of view using it for good. Life is a paradox and we're living it.
5:07 Angela Yee with the classic "best friend" reference
I see his work everyday coming to downtown chicago on the train. nice to see the man behind the madness
Met hebru at the elmhurst art museum & I asked him to sign my dollar, to which he replied “wow, nobody’s ever asked me to sign their dollar b4!” 😎 I’ll never spend that dollar
Cameron Williams dope show....was there as well
Chris Valenzuela aw man dope!
Yee never just ask a question. She asks a question, begins to answer it and waits for the guest to interrupt.
Couch Tomato lmao
This is one of those things that once you’re made aware, you can’t ignore it
Couch Tomato she has a story relating back to her for EVERYONE that comes for an interview! I call her Angela Yee Look at Mee because somehow she has to make the interview about her!!!
Couch Tomato lmao I never noticed that till you brought it up 😂
It’s so annoying!!!
I hoop at the basketball court with his graffiti on the walls, it's dope as hell, I love my city of Chicago!
Took my son to see his exhibit in Elmhurst. We loved it! My son was having an imaginary race with the life sized flyboys. Good luck Hebru and Michael B.
Art Is therapy and money, everyone should try it.
Damn that last part about CTG book was dope!
Alexander Beans I️m currently reading his book, it’s good
TBC going ham on the interviews.
Love the ❤️the breakfast club give shows to Chicago ❤️🙏🏾
Kadir Nelson is an amazing young black artist. Yal better get up on it.
Hebru, I want to support your art. I’ve been trying for months to get one of the Flyboy t-shirts. Can you restock your online store inventory?
“Word to the goggles on my Hebru Brantley!”
Definitely the transformative power of books, I felt the same way after reading Charlemagne book as well 💪🏽💕
You can tell how passionate he is about art by how he reacts to all the "trendy buzzwords" that pertain to art from black people. It's like me, a huge wrestling fan that gets annoyed when people who don't watch wrestling try to relate to me with it... All they know is The Rock.
Wow, my guy making history!! Thanks for being a beacon like for us artist! Much love
HEBRU!!! Yes! This is just made me so happy #Chicago #fam
Great interview! I'll support!
Yea, an artist!...finally. 👌🏾
Hebru is an icon living!
Not really
Yes! Love this, his art is so dope!
Lets hope they continue this
This is really dope! Got to meet Hebru in Detroit 2015 when he working on a huge mural in Eastern Market.
I love how beautiful this interview came to life
this is big for the visual arts world!
Great guest, great interview.
Love and adore Hebru. Definitely an all around nice guy

"I'm getting artsy fartsy house full of some Hebru Brantley's" I love this cat! just copped the SAMO shirt. shop black!
Hebru is a legend in the making!
Westside Gunn Rap Radar interview brought me here.
Hell yeah brother
Chicago Kids Keep Winning!!!
I need me one of them Jawns!!
Does anyone know where that juice bar is in Brooklyn that Angela's talking about??
Another of ChiTown's finest. We're popping up in every avenue!
Great Interview 👌🏾 Thank you for sharing. Would love to see more artists like @theprettyartist on IG ✨
Salute Hebru... Angela got them questions
Hebru is the man
legend
12:47 dropping knowledge!!
Chicago ❤️
Yooooo this brazy
Hey guys, you should look up LeSean Thomas. He directed Boondocks and now has a deal with Netflix to make animes!!! He has been grinding for so many years..and he's a NY native...look him up
Chi Town Southsiiiiide. Swear I love my city.
🔥✊🏾✊🏾
Every minute Yee has a best friend or she knows someone
there are so many monumental artist right in NYC!! PLS LOOK UP TATS CRU!!!!!
I want to visit the chi never been I guess one day I will go.
They sending shots at MAL - TBC ain’t over lol
D.J. Moultrie tf is you talkin bout??
I'm a muralist as well it's so hard to be black young and break into that industry
He should make a 6'8 piece, that would be dope in my opinion.
My daughter has an art assignment in his style.
FINALLYYY A REAL ARTIST!!! SICK OF YALL JUST HAVING NUGGAS OR MUSICIANS THERE
Angela yee did very well in this interview
breakfest club must got alot of interviews, why didnt they space this shit out through the week
i want a flyboy
The fact that this interview only has 44k views shows exactly where we are as a society but someone like Tekashi 69 gets 10 million plus..Hebru Brantley is more talented and does more for his community and social justice than any of these rappers they interview on a daily basis it’s a shame..smh
Money managing and credit to be taught to new artists
I like brothers that look like that😋I climb that bike and ride it to the moon🚴🏽♀️
Dang he didn't say anything working Pharrell clothing line. At least that how I heard about him.
I take my kids to art museums maybe different generation
I wonder where the BRANTLEY name comes from, cuz Im white and my name is Brantley and have heavy family ties to Alabama.Mobile to be exact.
I'm an artist/sculpture but it is hard to sell and promote. I would like to sit and talk to him.
Curtis Anthony WIRE whats hard about it?
Stephanie Graham my particular work consists of many many hours of labor and I am self taught so reaching people with that income level is difficult. I've met with so-called wealthy people and they have given me the run around as far as advice, etc.
Read more!! damn it.
Why is Angela constantly defending herself when no one indites or even indicates that she is apart of the populace the guest states that may not being doing something?
Did he just say his 6ft"8.
femi adebayo he does look tall for real
I guess im just a different type of person than these folks. Because they use the phrase "one of our own" in reference to someone of the same ethnicity as them but I could never see myself saying that phrase in that context. If I were to say "one of my own" it would be referring to another human but nothing to do with race. I heard a quote awhile back that I believe to be true. Something to the effect of "the only way to overcome racism is to stop talking about race". We ourselves create a divide every time we make statements such as this "one of our own".
CooBlogTalk... Well maybe people like me should be the only ones allowed to have kids and then in just a few generations we can get rid of racism! 😂😂
PUT TATS CRU on the show!!!!!
what are these commercials ads before the interview...really the NRA and the black card, like huh
Only time we need envy to say into the mic.. he talks low as shit
I still don't understand why kanye didn't get donkey of the day
Cause Charlemagne interviewed him.
But he did
Interview @Tommy Sotomayor
He's wrong about no other artist doing the many things he's doing. There's a great artist by the name of Jahsun of @FariStudio who not only is a great painter but an interior designer, musician, muralist, etc. It's just that Jay-Z thru Hebru out there more so..its all about promotion becuz I know tons of great visual artists who does lots of projects. Unfortunately, Jean Michel Basquiat was pimped out and taken advantage of by the white establishment.
I really wish y'all knew more about the art world SMH so uncultured SMH , hip-hop was the dancer, MUSICIANS and the visual artist (Graff art) y'all seem to only embrace the music part smh then scream representation, y'all need MORE visual ARTIST ON YHE SHOW!!!
TRUMP 2020
Donald Trump
the world most dangerous....why did you take your tagline from death row records and the name of your show from the bay area 106 KMEL! Lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate that word "diversity"
RajOfColumbus why?? Should things not be diverse?
Tavion Kizz no not really
RajOfColumbus
they're talking about diversity in terms of media, not race
Who tf is this?
