El HUD, los menús y todos los documentos también han sido totalmente remasterizados.
Los modos extra (campañas de Ada, modo mercenarios) también aplican todas estas mejoras (incluidos los personajes). Concretamente, Separate Ways era un port de la versión de PS2, con evidentes recortes gráficos con respecto a la campaña principal. Todos sus escenarios y armas también se han mejorado.
Este mod también incluye mejoras en el control y opciones extra, como aumentar el FOV o soporte para pantallas ultra panorámicas.

Sinceramente, dudo que Capcom hubiera hecho un trabajo tan respetuoso por este título como ha hecho este equipo. He comparado muchas remasterizaciones, pero este nivel de cariño y dedicación está a otro nivel. HD Project es arte de restauración.

I'll always remember that Sony shill John Linneman from DF stating that (paraphrased) the PS2 version was "pretty close" to the GameCube original. This is a guy that pretends to carefully analyze graphical featuresets, mind you.
Analysis of the PS2 version, just so far as polygon count, revealed that it had 10 times fewer polygons than the GameCube in specific scenes. So, this resulted in scenes where the GameCube would have 10 million polygons while the PS2 version, rendering the "same" scene, had 1 million polygons.
Needless to say, Linneman refused to delve into or even mention such differences in his retrospective.

Oh, I watched a documentary about the the RE4 restoration project a while back. It’s really amazing how passionate the modder is, going places to scan new textures to be used in the game instead of just sharpen the old texture.
Capcom should really just get passionate fans like to help work on their smaller projects like remastering an old game if they don’t have time to do it themselves. It also builds connection with the fans which in turn boost the company’s reputation (although they could also gain a bad rep for being incompetent and had to rely on the fans to do what they can’t - but Sonic Mania case works out really well for all parties).

The reason why people are upset at Capcom and other companies (cough Rockstar and Bethesda cough) is because they keep re-releasing the same games over and over and over, without making any real effort into updating them. They know we already love those games, and they know the games will still sell, even if they're not properly updated!
Toys For Bob remade Crash N'sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Bluepoint made Shadow Of The Colossus and Demon Souls remakes, and SCE Cambridge Studio made the Medieval remake. These are prime examples of how to faithfully remake/remaster/update a game in a way that it looks and feels fresh, while feeling and playing exactly how we remember them!....that's how you do it!
So yes, when a modder comes along and single handedly does a better job than Capcom, he will get more praise than Capcom

wow, they managed to actually keep the original art style whilst improving upon every visual aspect. incredible!!!
The lighting is a little off though especially on Leon in some cases.. color palette has changed.. I wish he would stick to the EXACT GameCube look.

@@Mr.Honest247 There is a colour palette option in the mod for this, at least in the beta there was. It did have options like the game cube look etc. You could try it out and see what you think. I did actually prefer a few of those options visually rather than the mods default look.

Capcom doesn't care, doing the bare minimun is enough for them to rake in all the money. It's shameful and degrading.
@@ned8896 I love Capcom and the latest Resident Evil games have been amazing. I'm even a big fan of RE6 tbh lol but they don't know how to handle their old games. we haven't had a modern port of Code Veronica why? it's so easy to do, it is on the PS3.

It is not just textures they actually made some meshes for things that were only tranparent textures, like fences and ornaments.
The HD wood textures were the biggest thing in the early stages of that HD project, strange as it sounds, that got me excited. The "Ultimate HD" version seemed like they just through some pictures of cut wood they bought from a lumber mill the previous day. Had no texture, no slices or damage on them. Even the original game with lower quality textures had better wood because it looked like it had belonged to the environment in which it was set. The HD project did a MUCH better job, actually recreating that original wood look, but in much higher quality.
Also something that often gets overlooked is how much time they really spent on fixing the lighting. They managed to add baked in lighting and shadows that makes the lighting look closer to RE Remake which is amazing, and something the game clearly should've been capable of once it was ported for the HD Remaster (or on PS4/Xbone).
Most of this will make sense if I tell you that they exclusively sourced the original photographs for all the textures this game has. They haven't recreated any of the textures, they actually got the original sources. And this is about 10 times harder than recreating them from the ingame textures. Look up texture archeology if you're interested in the topic.
This is gorgeous! To see one of my favourite games of all times touched up this beautifully is absolutely incredible. If only Capcom would've put just a fraction of effort in the countless remasters they have sold over the years.
Either way, many kudos to the amazing team behind this mod. I am truly speechless. To think that they managed to bring the visuals of this game up to the current graphical standarts is mindblowing!
Excellent video. I've been using this mod for years and can't wait for the final release. The modder(s) have done amazing work. Capcom should pay Albert Marin and release this as a PS5/Series edition.

Se nota que la comunidad de modera son más apegadas a un juego que las propias compañías, solo miren a los moders de resident Evil 4, hicieron un doblaje Latino para el juego CON ACTORES DE DOBLAJE PROFESIONALES, nada de fandubs, esa dedicación que se le tiene a que un juego nunca envejezca es algo digno de admirar, creo que con esto y el doblaje profesional la comunidad de moders de re4 está en top junto con Tenkaichi 3 y San Andreas.

Algo ví del doblaje. Está re bien hecho. Pero me pregunto cómo harán ahí con el tema legal, al ser actores conocidos con nombre y apellido en vez de usuarios X en internet, Capcom podría tomar acciones? O sea, lo más probable es que les dé igual, pero técnicamente podrían, creo.

Holy shit, I didn't know it was finally coming out! I have been looking forward to this ever since I watched Jacob Geller's video, and I often don't really care for HD texture mods.
This has got to be the most impressive and faithful fanmade texture pack I have seen, I somehow haven't got around to playing Resident Evil 4, but I know that il definitely play it with this mod.

Madre mía, qué bastada de diferencia. Da gusto ver como la comunidad saca mejoras reales HD (como pasó con los Final Fantasy clásicos) cuando las editoras no se molestan.
It's simple. These guys are TRUE fans doing the work for the LOVE of the game... meanwhile to Capcom employees, or port studios... it's nothing but another "job" for them to do to earn a living. That's the difference. And these guys have done a simply STUNNING job. There's very few mod projects like this out there. The amount of work they did actually finding and sourcing as much material as possible so it can remain as close and faithful to the original is just incredible. Amazing job!

Desgraciadamente no cuento con una PC y sueño con ver algún día ésta edición en consolas de nueva generación. The guy spent YEARS finding the stuff the devs modeled the assets from, then made his own assets from them.

lo grandioso de esto, es que todas las mejoras de iluminación, son con herramientas del mismo motor del juego, no lleva herramientas externas como los ENB

@@diegoeo99 creo rehusaron texturas originales re escalandolas con inteligencia artificial y otras solo re acomodando la posición eso si re creo muchísimas texturas se lo curro muchisimo y asta se puso en contacto con un creador de un cuadro que salia en el juego para pedirle y si podia pasarle la foto en una mejor resolución y aunque no tenían ya la pintura consiguió la imagen en mejor resolución

Que calidad tan brutal, me impresiona como aun el juego original sigue viéndose asombroso. Este trabajo también lo hicieron con Silent Hill 2 PC Enhanced Edition varios fans ingenieros y diseñadores digitales, una cosa hermosa quedó sin perder el toque de la originalidad, otro buen trabajo no me consta se dice fue el Black Mesa o Half Life 1.

Ya es la cuarta vez que me paso RE4 este año y siempre vuelvo a este vídeo porque todavía no puedo creer que hayan hecho un trabajo tan increíble
Llevo años viendo el canal del creador Albert Marin , en sus videos siempre explica las correcciones de textura , iluminacion y coliciones que hizo para cada escenario y de donde saco las texturas. Es increible que un solo fan haya echo semejante trabajo y con pequeñas ayudas de otros en algunos codigos para corregir ciertas cosas.
Los de Capcom no tiene verguenza de llama "Ultimate HD" a esa version que sacaron cuando muchas texturas siguendo viendose todas borrosas y sin correcciones.

La mejor movida que podría hacer Capcom es comprar este Mod de manera oficial. Distribuirlo como parche, y adaptarlo a consolas lo más que se pueda. Se ganaría el mundo entero con una acción que le saldría más barato que retrabajar RE4 por ellos mismos.
Ojalá se lo merecen muchisimo por el gran trabajo pero es imposible ya que muy posiblemente estan con el Remake ahora y me imagino que no les interesa...

This is amazing, that goes without saying. I do occasionally notice a downgrade though. Like Ashley’s face at 15:49, you could see her face was lit by the candles, but in the HD project, it removes that lighting.

El maldito mejor remastered de la historia de los videojuegos, siendo no oficial, sigue siendo el mejor competiendo con oficiales! ojalá de luz verde y salga todo correctamente, los desarrolladores se merecen su aplauso.
el motor fue hecho a partir de la remasterisacion de silent hill 2 enhanced edition que para mi sigue siendo el mejor de todos hasta ahora
