  • Learning the FreeCAD Curves workbench tools we look at the IsoCurve tool. This is an external workbench that can be installed from the tools menu add on manager. It applies a UV oriented lattice on to a selected surface. These Curves can be extracted as a sub-element e.g: with Curves JoinCurves, part design sub shape binder, part explode compound to allow it to be used within your model and in other workbenches. ISO curves can be used to help to visualise the shape.
We finish by creating a model and using the iso curves to make two features.

Thank you for all the work you do with these videos. As the previous comment stated, you should try immediately showing what the tool does. Then spend the rest of the video breaking down the steps. Otherwise the viewer has no context what you're explaining! 😊

Brilliant feature in FreeCad! I feel it's gotten to the point in it's development where it's now expanding features faster than I can learn them all which is a good thing.

I followed along, then I experimented by combining things I've learned from your other tutorials. This is going to be useful for designing things to be fabricated out of metal, like gates, racks, etc.

Great to hear, glad you can find a use for it. BTW. I really like the logo you have for your profile picture. Looks like a logo for a metal worker or black smith.

@@MangoJellySolutions The logo symbolizes a neutral flame, (the fuel gets the exact amount of Oxygen it needs to burn 100% efficiently), symbolizing focus and staying on the right path, an Ox, symbolizing hard work and determination and a Viking helmet symbolizing where I was born and raised. I've been a Welder/Fabricator for over 20 years, so my channel content will mostly be related to Metal Work.

thx for the great educational video! it helps me create lots of things. Did you see last Makers Muse video "How to 3D Print bores without supports (Fusion 360 Masterclass)" there is a technique called "sequential bridging". Could you show how to do this in freecad?

I have just been looking at that, interesting technique I must have a try and see if I can make the same in freecad. Thank you for saying about that.

Hi there, I like your videos but I have always a problem with one thing, you should always demonstrate it and explain the use of it. Like what is it used for and what can I do with it, then explain how it works. Often I'm watching 20% of your videos till you start explaining the use of it and I then decide... ohh it's not what I want.
