Thanks for using a sub optimal blood phase and a two prison ice phase for your examples. Other guides aren't bad but they often show a clean kill where they one or two cycle blood phase and never eat more than one ice prison. The problem is learning Nex and especially with tier 80s you will NOT one cycle everything and that's normal. You will need to learn to stay calm under pressure and work your way through a blood phase patiently when things don't go your way. Going through a 4 siphon Nex because you're just learning or splashed a lot is fine, its accidentally eating a blood sacrifice or attacking during the siphon because you were panicking that will lose you kills.
These low level guides help a lot, even though most of my stats are maxed, my gear is not. Thank you for making them, a perfect reference I will send to anyone trying to learn!
Quick tip for ice prison, you can actually drinks brews even when you're stunned, so if you make any mistakes just spam click the brews on your inventory. PS: You must click them on the inventory, using your keybinds won't work.

you have some good introduction into pvm videos the first one i saw was the rev telos one i know alot of people wished they had this out a couple years ago and im sure alot of people will appreciate it in the future you seem to understand that not everyone plays full manual or even wants to play full or mostly manual and you are trying to help the people do cool bosses who use rev and you try to help guide them into making additional input like shield switching etc.. *slow clap...* good for you mate good for you!
One thing to keep in mind about Blood Phase (that makes it much easier) is that if you don't attack Nex before she uses Siphon then get out of her direct vision range without attacking her during Siphon, she de-aggros you. This can let you kill the Blood Reavers at your own pace (assuming you stay out of her vision range), guaranteeing you'll make progress in the fight without her absorbing them back. It works better with the Persistent Rage Relic (since you can start your Nex rotation with full adrenaline) and Onslaught (since it makes Onslaught far less risky if you fuck up). That being said, the former requires 98 Arch and the latter requires a Mazcab Ability Codex you're better off spending on Corruption Shot first. Source: A medium-level PVMer who tried to get into Nex occasionally for years and finally got through Blood Phase by doing that during Combat Week.

An extra tip for ice phase for the prison mechanic, you can switch to shield and resonance the hit right after the ice ends for a free heals and to further boost ur chance at survival if you do not have powerburst available , especially for ppl who panic and forget to turn prayer back on

One small thing that I wanted to point out was that you only need 96 Summoning for Pack Yaks (not 97 as in the video). But other than that, it's an amazing guide that I've been very eager to see from your very first boss video. Thank you so much for your hard work and making beginner friendly guides like these for noobs like myself who find it very difficult to get into bossing since most guides gear up with atleast T80-90 which takes a long time to get to.
Ive watched protoxx, maikeru, silenced, lasershark guides for all pvm bossing. Yet they confused me for idk whatever reason. Using your guides, ive managed to finally kill rax after your vids. Got stuck at 80% enrage and back to 2 hours watching your guide on repeat to get past that enrage 😂 managed to cap at 200%. Then i realised ive learnt on the hardest paths 🤷♂️ all gwd2 bosses done with nearly 100kcon each in a few days, gone from 2min kills to 1m10secs. Now Nex, am ready

These variants actually absorb and stay in the brain, plus the editing style and explanations sell it. You keep it simple, down to earth and leave out bloat information. Nex is doable for me (i think), it's raksha and ambassador that spook me. Maybe its your tone of voice versus the rest. Example, protoxx may say "if you do this and it goes wrong, YOU HAVE TO DO THIS and THEN THIS", *panik meme*, whilst you just keep chill and explain it off in a sentence thats easy to digest.
Great guide, very helpful and informative. One criticism I have for you though, is that you recommend 90+ range, but your 'bare minimum' setup involves enchanted ruby bak bolts, which require 99 range to use. Thus it's important to mention that to a beginner with only 90 range, since the bolts with that gear setup are probably what provides the biggest DPS boost towards the kill. But overall the guide was very easy to follow. Keep up the good work!
Ok, some may call me insane but I'm determined to PVM on mobile. I don't have a PC to play on, and I want to solo nex. Do you have any tips on how to set up my hotkey buttons? I have the maximum allowable by mobile, two 8 button clusters. Can't see both at once if I have my inventory open, but I can flip which side they're on with a tap. I was thinking maybe have one side for blood phase and the other for smoke/shadow/ice/zaros. I'll be eating food and drinking pots out of my inventory, probably have protect from mage on each, in the same spot to cut down on misclicks and to ensure I can readily keep prayer up. I WILL be bringing a shield switch for barricade, but how does resonance handle the hit from ice prison? Edit: for revolution, you're doing manual thresholds and ults, right?
Reso actually doesnt work on the prison hit! It wont do anything unfortunately. Thats why powerburst or barricade is best here. I have very limited experience on mobile, so I may not be much help, but I would suggest being able to have easy access to protect from range as well for shadow phase. I am using manual ults yes, manual thresholds no, but its better if you do! Because that way you choose when to use your most damaging abilities!
I've rewatched your guide a few time especially the blood phase as I struggle quite a bit dpsing her but I see what I been doing wrong as I been trying to dps the dog when I fail a snipe into an onslaught. Make me want to redo nex with this new found knowledge
(as I understand) You can use with any crossbow, but the damage is nerfed at the proportion of your weapon lvl. There is no weapon T99 anyway. The max is T92 at the moment of writing.
@@andersoniawe I know there isn't a t99 crossbow I was meaning that the Ranged Level requirement itself for the Bolts is actually 99. I have some in my bank but the game doesn't allow me to equip them since I'm 97 ranged at the moment.
Ummm vuln bombs do not increase hitchance all they do is increase the damage you deal by 10% for 1 min, useful yes but please don't think they increase your hit chance. Also a very helpful item they are expensive now but worth it if you can afford it is nightmare gauntlets
I hope I didn't come off as rude or anything with that comment, just wanted to make sure everyone understood they don't touch affinity. Items that lower affinity are stat hammer, black stone arrows, gstaff and quake (ability).
Dual wield range is stronger than 2h range because of the ability needle strike, but a bow should work just fine as well, just a small dps loss, especially if on revo!
Watching you fight the boss at like 2500 or less hp got most of the fight was giving me anxiety. I'd never trust myself avoid the mechanics while at such low HP.
no matter what i cannot seem to dps her down fast enough in blood phase. i managed to get her once but had used my entire inventory of food + pack mammoth. This boss seems impossible for me and i am using full pernix + arma godbook + supreme sharpshooter aura + nox bow + LoD + reapers necklace. I have deaths swiftness as well as onslaught and 99 prayer and my dps still lacks. No clue what im doing wrong or how to fix it. Unless the vuln bombs make that much of a difference.

Turns out she does more damage and reflects alot when you do not purchase an instance. Her behavior is a bit different. Might want to put that in somewhere (unless you did and i somehow missed it)
@@matthiusatomfist1168 tldr: yes, use an instance (and bank after every kill), or bring another cb style with you. Nex has two "states" between which she switches every respawn. You can have nex with the occassional magic reflect prayer, followed by nex with the occassional ranged reflect prayer, they keep alternating. If you use the open world nex, chances are you were dealt a ranged praying nex, so she reflected the damage back at times. If you use an instance as he showed, it always starts with a magic-praying nex. If you leave the instance (bank) and rejoin the instance, you again get a mage-praying nex first. If you stay inside for two kills, the second kill will be a ranged-praying nex, so for actual trips bring another combat style (pref. ranged+magic). His method works in the limits he offered. He didn't discuss all the details that make it work (minions are immune to magic, nex uses melee reflect prayer in zaros phase, soft hit caps of minions/nex(zaros)).
Kiting is running a boss around the arena, often to avoid melee hits etc. In order to attack a boss without clicking on it, you have to use the keybinds, which can still be done with revolution on. If you spam click (doesn't have to be too spammy) where you want to run to, while pressing the keybind keys, you will keep attacking while running which will in turn pull the boss towards you, kiting it.
Works well at nex if you have most of the higher tier 2h weps like a royal crossbow or a nox bow even wyvern cb works and what makes it better is that as long as you keep running nex can't attack you as they all have 9 Sq attack range and nex's attack range is 8. Good luck
I unfortunately do not, but you can attack an NPC without clicking on them, if you first initiate combat with them, and then click away while using abilities from your keybinds! Your character will store the creature you last attacked as your "target" and will attack them when the abilities are used manually! I hope that helped, let me know if you'd like a better explanation!
I really recommend you check out this page: runescape.wiki/w/Optimal_PvM_perk_setup And see which ones you can afford to get! In my day to day PvM, I use relentless, crackling, enhanced devoted, and mobile :)
Are you using Reckless aura in this video? Can't tell exactly which one you're using and can't recall any mention of it in your video. I find Nex a pain in the dick without Reckless, too much splash
Yes you definitely can, it may be a bit harder as you dont have the ruby bolts to help with DPS, but you have higher accuracy with shadow glaives than you do with a royal crossbow! Just make sure you're not healing nex and rotate through your Rapidfire/Snapshot and you should make it eventually! If you want to send me a video of your attempt I can help you further!
I'm also struggling in this phase too. Surge away at sacrifice and don't hit during siphon, which I do fine I just seem to be low on food by this out and she out dps' me
Arma book is by far the best at nex because of all the hit caps there are, example all 4 minions have hit caps where I believe anything above 1500 dmg is reduced by 75% also phase 5 of nex (zaros phase) has the same hit caps. The arma book hits many times for low hits around a 1k avg
The melee is definitely annoying to deal with. If you're worried about it on the first phase, a common tactic is to wear melee boots/helm. This *Should* reduce the amount of melee hits she goes for. As for the last phase, she just wants to lunch you in the face and you'll just have to take it 🤷🏼♂️

7 minutes and you know what you are doing. yeah i dont think people are gonna live and actually kill the boss in a timely manner. thing i dont get it how someone can have overloads and t95 prayer with quests done, but not invention for low tier perks. kinda silly. should have atleast a nox bow. so yeah good luck to anyone trying this. prob will die until 100 kills in. pvming is a billion times easier if you get invention and proper equips through skilling or grinding nooby monsters for the same gp/h.
This isn't a speedrun guide. Its not even a guide for people who want to improve their nex times. This is a guide for a bare minimum kill. You do not need t95 prayers as stated in the video. This series isn't for you if you're rocking a nox with bis perks.
Invention makes things a ton easier! But it also requires 80 div, craft, and smithing! As someone who wanted to PvM well before I got my skills to that level, I can tell you for sure that I wish someone told me it was possible! I can also assure you that you can absolutely survive a 7 min Nex kill, as I did in the video with food costing
@@armitroner Still, i think XJ9 above has a point, as much as it pains me to accept, while i agree this isn't a speedkill guide, surviving the constant damage nex is dealing for 7 minutes, can deplete your food resources quite fast. And that's the first sign you're doing good at a particular boss. Because soon enough, you stop needing to use a Yak and can swap familiars. It's the natural progression, but XJ9 here assumed every player knows about this, which is sad because how can one be so detached from its community and forget there's people who haven't configured their action bars properly. New players are fresh, ignorant of many stuff, even some maxed players still ignore plenty of stuff, assuming everyone knows the same things as you do, even if they're so basic and simple, is the first mistake someone can do when making a guide. Which is why this guide is particularly amazing.
@@Zinggy09RS For future reference, ignore comments of that nature, as a natural fact even, people with anime profile pictures are, most of the time, smartasses, and they don't deserve one's attention (as harsh as that sounds), i speak from experience. You're doing a fantastic job here, and these guides are really helping plenty of people, even if it's to understand basic mechanics, they are heping. Of course, it's the player's job to use the guide and improve on their own, and that's the cool thing. When you last expect it, you'll be doing sub 3:00 Nex solos, and you can look back at this guide with fondness and recomment it to the new players, that's the beauty of it.

As someone who is learning nex, I find it a bit easier if using black stone arrows as it passively reduces its armor rating

@@andersoniawe I know there isn't a t99 crossbow I was meaning that the Ranged Level requirement itself for the Bolts is actually 99. I have some in my bank but the game doesn't allow me to equip them since I'm 97 ranged at the moment.
Ummm vuln bombs do not increase hitchance all they do is increase the damage you deal by 10% for 1 min, useful yes but please don't think they increase your hit chance. Also a very helpful item they are expensive now but worth it if you can afford it is nightmare gauntlets

I hope I didn't come off as rude or anything with that comment, just wanted to make sure everyone understood they don't touch affinity. Items that lower affinity are stat hammer, black stone arrows, gstaff and quake (ability).
can i do nex with bow or range mainly have to use crossbows?
Dual wield range is stronger than 2h range because of the ability needle strike, but a bow should work just fine as well, just a small dps loss, especially if on revo!
Watching you fight the boss at like 2500 or less hp got most of the fight was giving me anxiety. I'd never trust myself avoid the mechanics while at such low HP.
You learn how too feel out ur SoulSplit healing witg ur dps and the damage you take then you can be more confident at low health.

Unfortunately not! The hit will still come through and you wont heal anything. Great question though!

no matter what i cannot seem to dps her down fast enough in blood phase. i managed to get her once but had used my entire inventory of food + pack mammoth. This boss seems impossible for me and i am using full pernix + arma godbook + supreme sharpshooter aura + nox bow + LoD + reapers necklace. I have deaths swiftness as well as onslaught and 99 prayer and my dps still lacks. No clue what im doing wrong or how to fix it. Unless the vuln bombs make that much of a difference.

@@Zinggy09RS Sooo funny enough i found the reason why i could not do it right before i went to set up obs for recording. Turns out she does more damage and reflects alot when you do not purchase an instance. Her behavior is a bit different. Might want to put that in somewhere (unless you did and i somehow missed it)
@@matthiusatomfist1168 tldr: yes, use an instance (and bank after every kill), or bring another cb style with you.
Nex has two "states" between which she switches every respawn. You can have nex with the occassional magic reflect prayer, followed by nex with the occassional ranged reflect prayer, they keep alternating. If you use the open world nex, chances are you were dealt a ranged praying nex, so she reflected the damage back at times.
If you use an instance as he showed, it always starts with a magic-praying nex. If you leave the instance (bank) and rejoin the instance, you again get a mage-praying nex first. If you stay inside for two kills, the second kill will be a ranged-praying nex, so for actual trips bring another combat style (pref. ranged+magic).
His method works in the limits he offered. He didn't discuss all the details that make it work (minions are immune to magic, nex uses melee reflect prayer in zaros phase, soft hit caps of minions/nex(zaros)).
Do you have any videos to explain “Kiting” and also how to attack an NPC without clicking on them?
Kiting is running a boss around the arena, often to avoid melee hits etc. In order to attack a boss without clicking on it, you have to use the keybinds, which can still be done with revolution on. If you spam click (doesn't have to be too spammy) where you want to run to, while pressing the keybind keys, you will keep attacking while running which will in turn pull the boss towards you, kiting it.
Works well at nex if you have most of the higher tier 2h weps like a royal crossbow or a nox bow even wyvern cb works and what makes it better is that as long as you keep running nex can't attack you as they all have 9 Sq attack range and nex's attack range is 8. Good luck
I unfortunately do not, but you can attack an NPC without clicking on them, if you first initiate combat with them, and then click away while using abilities from your keybinds! Your character will store the creature you last attacked as your "target" and will attack them when the abilities are used manually! I hope that helped, let me know if you'd like a better explanation!

Are you using Reckless aura in this video? Can't tell exactly which one you're using and can't recall any mention of it in your video. I find Nex a pain in the dick without Reckless, too much splash

Yes you definitely can, it may be a bit harder as you dont have the ruby bolts to help with DPS, but you have higher accuracy with shadow glaives than you do with a royal crossbow! Just make sure you're not healing nex and rotate through your Rapidfire/Snapshot and you should make it eventually! If you want to send me a video of your attempt I can help you further!

I'm also struggling in this phase too. Surge away at sacrifice and don't hit during siphon, which I do fine I just seem to be low on food by this out and she out dps' me

Thats from the illuminated god book I'm using! More specifically, the illuminated book of law
Arma book is by far the best at nex because of all the hit caps there are, example all 4 minions have hit caps where I believe anything above 1500 dmg is reduced by 75% also phase 5 of nex (zaros phase) has the same hit caps. The arma book hits many times for low hits around a 1k avg

Why is nex melleing me every single attempt?
The melee is definitely annoying to deal with. If you're worried about it on the first phase, a common tactic is to wear melee boots/helm. This *Should* reduce the amount of melee hits she goes for. As for the last phase, she just wants to lunch you in the face and you'll just have to take it 🤷🏼♂️

you were nearly that perfect video for my friend who cant/dont use manual, title says revo yet i just see you using manual and telling them to manual use of abilitys, so not much of a revo video by what you show, maybe next time actually use revo and not manual when making a video of how to in revo, otherwise great video for those that can/will use manual

7 minutes and you know what you are doing. yeah i dont think people are gonna live and actually kill the boss in a timely manner.
thing i dont get it how someone can have overloads and t95 prayer with quests done, but not invention for low tier perks. kinda silly. should have atleast a nox bow.
so yeah good luck to anyone trying this. prob will die until 100 kills in. pvming is a billion times easier if you get invention and proper equips through skilling or grinding nooby monsters for the same gp/h.
This isn't a speedrun guide. Its not even a guide for people who want to improve their nex times. This is a guide for a bare minimum kill. You do not need t95 prayers as stated in the video. This series isn't for you if you're rocking a nox with bis perks.
Invention makes things a ton easier! But it also requires 80 div, craft, and smithing! As someone who wanted to PvM well before I got my skills to that level, I can tell you for sure that I wish someone told me it was possible! I can also assure you that you can absolutely survive a 7 min Nex kill, as I did in the video with food costing
@@armitroner Still, i think XJ9 above has a point, as much as it pains me to accept, while i agree this isn't a speedkill guide, surviving the constant damage nex is dealing for 7 minutes, can deplete your food resources quite fast. And that's the first sign you're doing good at a particular boss. Because soon enough, you stop needing to use a Yak and can swap familiars. It's the natural progression, but XJ9 here assumed every player knows about this, which is sad because how can one be so detached from its community and forget there's people who haven't configured their action bars properly.
New players are fresh, ignorant of many stuff, even some maxed players still ignore plenty of stuff, assuming everyone knows the same things as you do, even if they're so basic and simple, is the first mistake someone can do when making a guide. Which is why this guide is particularly amazing.
@@Zinggy09RS For future reference, ignore comments of that nature, as a natural fact even, people with anime profile pictures are, most of the time, smartasses, and they don't deserve one's attention (as harsh as that sounds), i speak from experience. You're doing a fantastic job here, and these guides are really helping plenty of people, even if it's to understand basic mechanics, they are heping. Of course, it's the player's job to use the guide and improve on their own, and that's the cool thing.
When you last expect it, you'll be doing sub 3:00 Nex solos, and you can look back at this guide with fondness and recomment it to the new players, that's the beauty of it.
Not like your guides do a better job at explaining, Mr High tier pvm. Go defender camp some more before getting all elitist.
