Lovely fly and never thought about tying two to then use the off cut fir the wing case 🥳👍🏼
Thanks man. It helps when you're tying a bunch. I use this fly so much I tie dozens for each season
Nice tie. I appreciate your attention to detail, proportions etc…
Much appreciated man!
Ironically , I don’t use these enough. When I started out flyfishing that was always on my tippet but as the years went on I tried more and more different combinations and basically I love a wetfly more so. But, as an old dog these days, one tends to complacent with what flies go on and stay on. Lol. Thx for the reminder of one of yet another true classic productive fly most have maybe forgotten about with all these fancy new patterns out there. Really like how you added a few different twists to yours that makes it look buggier and more natural. Thx Gary!
I've got s long list of flies I dint use enough haha
Nice👍
Curved hooks have a nasty way of winding up in the fish's eye.
Hmm, I haven't experienced that effect. Seems like that's a hook set issue
Well tied. Almost exactly the same as mine. But my hairs ear have a rusty or reddish tint to them. And I do he same nymph rig 90% of the time except the hairs ear is the meat fly but I use a p-tail as the dropper.
I love rust flies. My steelhead stone fly is a rust color it does really well!
