- This was a big undertaking, but Minecraft is filled with weird, unintentional looking features huh
Minecraft Bedrock is the same as Minecraft Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Minecraft PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Minecraft Switch, Minecraft PE and of course Minecraft Windows 10

One that's missing is the fact you can Fortune Tall Flowers without damaging your tools. So that's infinite Flowers without needing Bone meal. It's actual duplication ironically
Once I got fortune in a older world I made a flower garden where i would harvest tall flowers with fortune everyday, replant and then put the rest in composter. Who doesn't like some extra bonemeal
Ye
Never knew that.
Fun fact: in old console versions (or at least Xbox 360 edition, it’s the only one I have), breaking any plant with any tool will use durability (I didn’t realise this and broke my sword lol)
@@CreepersNeedHugs iirc everything uses duribility no matter what tool/the use.
apparently excluding fortune on flowers
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The most illegal thing: 2 full blocks turn into a single pressure plate. Can anyone please explain what happens to the other 19/20ths of those blocks?
Steve eats them
@@randomprimary mm yummy rocc
@@buckethead60 I love me some polished blackstone in the morning, how about you?
@@randomprimary that would definitely cause splinters if you tried that in real life…
Well, since crafting does seem to have some magic involved, perhaps the table requires sacrifice? Explains why the stone cutter, a more realistic item, is more efficient
The leaves floating and staying in the air for long periods of time wasnt a feature back in the days, it needed to be connected to a wood block. They implemented this so we could use it in our creations without it being attached to a wood block. It now has the same logic as floating rocks or floating dirts and such
Yeah, but stone and dirt are mostly hard solid, try standing on a leaf in real life and pretend its a long bridge over the grand canyon
@The Duskz disconnect the block of stone from anything, its floating in the air, doesnt make much sense either
@The Duskz what im trying to say is, minecraft wasnt made to be a representation of real life, its an abstract blocky sandbox infinite world in which you can survivre / create
they went back and forth on that decision a couple times iirc!
when a log with leaves attatched to it gets broken, the leaf gets a block update that also triggers all connecting leaves to start to randomly decay, this way we can have decaying trees but also be able to break the leaves and use them for building
37:43 I mean to be fair bamboo _is_ one of the fastest growing plants in the world, some species have been known to grow up to 40 mm (1.5 inches) per hour so it's probably completely intended for it to grow noticeably faster than other plants
1.5FT a day
that is insane
Bamboo has lower growth in a cave. As shown. Fastest bamboo growth requires removal of solid blocks above. Like a beacon.
Everyone talks about how "dinnerbone" turns mobs upsidown, but noone talks about how the nametag "grumm" does the same thing.
Right?
Plenty of ppl talk about it, its just that no one uses it. It comes down to the name dinnerbone being a much cooler name thats easier to remember. Dinnerbone puts an image into ur head associated with it. Grumm sounds like if grimace from mcdonalds had a baby. If i gave u two passwords to unlock ur bedroom door one was pizzaface the other was phaccce im assuming you would opt yo use pizzaface rather than phaccce. Lets say u needed a friend to run to ur room for u, would u spell out the stupid one yhat ud prob need to spell out/write down for em of would u say type in pizzaface all one word

Fun Fact: In Bedrock edition you actually used to die in creative mode if you rode a boat or minecart into the void because the game was coded to delete boats and minecarts instead of killing them like other entities, this would result in it attempting to delete a player (which also crashes the server).
Your humor and speech pattern alone is so entertaining that it makes an hour feel like 15 minutes. Great video.
Cats not taking fall damage is probably an allusion to the fact that, in real life, a cat’s terminal velocity is (generally) too low to kill it.
that's actually a myth, they're just much less likely to get hurt from falling due to how they're agile in the air. what you're talking about is a squirrel.
No it’s just because of the “cats always land on their feet” thing
@@Mrs._Fenc I'm on the 80th floor, you're telling me this squirrel will make it?
@@issholland Yes. The squirrel would have to fall somewhere around 4800 miles in order to die but even then it's from starvation/dehydration.
@@thebigcheese8715 can survive doesn't mean will survive, I had fun looking this up but squirrels don't always survive when they hit concrete
15:32 I thought he was gonna talk about how on Bedrock you can _literally_ duplicate 2-tall flowers by using a fortune tool (as it can drop more than one, and there is no durability cost as it breaks instantly by hand)
That's what I do. I was making an item sorter and used red dye for filter items and got them from using fortune over and over on rose bushes
To add onto this using bonemeal to make 2 tall grass and ferns doesn't use bonemeal. (From what I've seen)
26:40 I caught that jerryrigseverything reference lol. Very epic. I did not know you, or your map maker, would know of Zack. Not two domains of UA-camrs that I’d ever put together.
I literally come into the comments to see if anyone else got the reference.. Nice to see someone did...
But, the fact both of us watch both contents shows there's obvious some weird connection 😂.. Did you know that Zack built goodtimeswithscar one of the "not a wheelchair" things
@@dannyhoughton74 Me too xD

Toycat: Golden carrots are the best food, always eat golden carrots
God Apples in his Hotbar: Am I a joke to you?
When on magma and your crouching, your character is being more careful for where they're stepping but when walking/running, they're just going across without thinking.
It's funny how those are "features" and not bugs, just because Mojang didn't wanna bother to fix them
A lot of them are because people like them, not because they just don't want to
Like the stray pixel on the Critical Hit Particle
12:45 Why have I never thought of putting the observers in the ceiling?!? Such a simple thing that would save me a fair bit of room in my farms.
the fact that guardians don't die when they're out of water actually adds to the theory that guardians are robots
The blue ice with boats is literally the mine craft equivalent of terraria hoiks, insanely fast travel bug that people liked so much the devs kept it
10:59
I think spawn eggs should be dungeon loot or something, would give much more incentive to go to one even late game
As far as I know, the zombie->drowned armor pipeline is because armor durability is calculated on mob *death*, but when zombies "drown" the death event is never thrown. That means that the armor is still at full durability (as when mobs have it on) but is not worn.
Honestly, it makes sense and fixing it would be a lot of work.
Armor is always full when zombies have it so that it doesn't break (remember pillager crossbows breaking??)
10:28 it is actually possible irl that there are multiple chicken from one egg, kinda like identical human twins. There are people that have made scrambled eggs or so and discovered that there are two or more eggyolks in the one egg and it's very interesting
They are basically giant unfertilized cells
The enderpearl spawning endermites could also be considered a spawn egg
i like how (in atleast java) if you die in a hardcore world, you can rejoin the world but only spectate, you can use cheats and set yourself back to hardcore. Def not cheating
One you missed: you can actually hold a fully charged respawn anchor if you use the pick block button in creative mode
mojang is the only company allowed to call bugs "features",
and also toycat is yes
Riot does that too
@@zt7621 yeah ik but mojang is the best at doing it (idk if it's a good thing or a bad thing)
@@ahmadmazbouh every second feature was a bug at some point xD
@@ahmadmazbouh oh lol, riot recently tweeted ; Is this a bug? or a feature? , trust me they are the best on it xd

Love the JerryRigEverything reference
I feel like not many of us caught that. I've been scrolling for a few minutes to see if anyone else saw that.
Hmmm, I think Toycat forgot to turn the video quality up, it's always in 360p.
It's a new video, when it is first uploaded for the first like 30 minutes the video will only be available in lower quality because UA-cam is still doing uploading
@@constantprayerwarrior wow, I thought it was just me, I can only see the video in 480p and it says quality unavailable lol
@@constantprayerwarrior Normally, a video has all the quality at the beginning tho.
@@RGC_animation you know how it is with UA-cam always trying to make things better but ultimately making things worse, taking away the dislikes for example
For the copper you are actually scraping away the copper oxide from the outer layer of the copper which has come in contact with the air, which is why rubbing wax works because it is putting a layer in between the oxygen and the copper
Yes but you would be removing material from the block as you do that, eventually over hundreds of years it would shrink to nothing lol
I love weird obscure features that don't have any practical use outside of a challenge run. It's what makes those challenges possible
23:41 That door with big holes in it stopping a full room with water is also kinda illegal
A SIGN can stop water. Just HOW?!
How about the fact if you make lava flow over water the water turns into stone? It's been in the game for so long, but it does feel at least a little illegal.
4:15
It feels illegal, but It makes sense when you think about it.
It could not only be referencing that "cats have 9 lives" saying, but it could also be referencing that cats land on their back feet(I think it's the back feet first, but I could be wrong. Feel free to correct me in the reply section)first after falling.
Not sure of any studies but ive had cats my whole life and ive always seen them land on their front legs first, if you drop one upside down w their belly up their front half will twist around first then they use their front paws on the floor to rotate their back end
@@notahumanbeing6892 Okay.
loved the Jerry rig refference :D
Saw and and was wondering if anyone else noticed
13:37 well actually on bedrock you could die to the void in creative, but they removed it a few years ago. Also, I'm not sure if it was bedrock in general or just pocket edition
It was on console edition
I only remember it from the early PE days. I think it was the same time they added the floor at the bottom of the void when it stopped happening
In reality the villagers are paying you for working in their farms.
never thought of it that way, don't feel as bad now.
14:20 The Trident just has the Infinity enchantment on it
I see no shinies on it now do I?
@@connorallgood0922 It's a rendering glitch I bet.
@@CelesProxy your right i reloaded the game and it shows up now
So much effort went into this presentation, via research, commentary, and the map. Bravo!
the thrown drowned tridents should be a separate item to the regular trident, you should be able to pick them up and they'd be stackable, throwable, one time use unenchantable weapons. Then the trident we currently have could still be as rare ( rare in java anyway) and it wouldn't seem so weird as its a "special" trident
Moody brightness is not illegal, it's the most logical brightness level. I mean, if you're in a total darkness, you shouldn't see much anything, right?
The star room can be animated by using a structure block to copy and end gateway outside of the end, meaning that it can't teleport anything, but still has the end portal texture.
4:05 didn't know that British cats got 9 lives, in my country they have only 7
22:51 I remember making water elevators by alternating between water and ladders so you wouldn't drown. It was fastest way of moving vertically on PE at the time, I believe.
32:17 I think he's saying its odd that lava and water don't mix, however magma and water do.
It was supposed to be the fact that it allows you to breathe underwater based on toycat's script, but I was also leaning towards what toycat said in the video _and_ what you said in this here comment :)
“We try, we fly, and we die.”-Ibxtoycat 2022
26:20 The fallingsand thing is probably a result of internal game logic, if the sand cannot place itself flatly onto a block (any whole block) than it will break, which then extends to any block the game registers as not a full block.
19:04 missed opportunity to say “We try, we fly, [and] we die”
18:18 Ah yes, The Netherrack Pickaxe.
Illegal: Gold Pickaxe can’t mine gold...
Huuuhh?!
26:39 Amazing Reference
When he said "I love sponges" I liked that part
"Scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at level 7"
I miss being able to put things over item frames, it added a lot more detail to builds
"This project took many hours to finish, it took hours and hours to put together a list of features that felt like this, it put hours together to show them off in Minecraft, to test them, to go through everything, and it took a lot of work from more than a few people here..."
The irony is that I feel like this video was too long. Maybe 33 would have been an easier number to hit, from both a creation and watching perspective.
Yeah, you are probably right lol
Villagers buying their own wheat does make sense in a way, it’s like you’re being paid to do the harvesting for them
I love how toy cat as he was leaving the ravine room just throws the shield and moves on like nothing happens
Cats not taking fall damage isn’t illegal, they don’t take fall damage because “cats always land on their feet”, even though that isn’t 100% true irl
There should be an advancement for dropping a cat from world height down to bedrock it should be titled "They Always Land on Their Feet" or something like that.
Toy cat, that thing with the pick-up range of the minecart isn't even close to the most illegal feeling thing about hopper minecarts.
If you place down a hopper minecart and then break the rail under it, you can then piston a block downward on top of the minecart and make the two occupy the same block. A lot of redstoners out there abuse this feature to make their farms more compact, placing the hopper minecart on top of an actual hopper, placing the hopper minecart inside a block, and then building their compact plus-sign style farm immediately around that block.
i am a bedrock user, and i love toycat
‘toycat’: “are you a bedrock user? what kind of build you like??”
‘me’: “redstone builds and minecraft bedrock houses!!”
Cat's don't take fall damage cause of the infamous saying "cat's always land on their feet". Meaning they seemingly never get hurt when falling from a somewhat high distance.
Can’t see video…It showed the timeline (40 some minutes?) and then says No connection, tap to retry.
EDIT: Hours later, tried again, and it’s working!
This was pretty cool! Seeing a list done in a video! Although I must say I’m so disappointed you didn’t mention the ender dragon farm! That is Minecraft’s most illegal part easily
Guess my fence gates weren't enough to stop the cats LMAO
It's hilarious though
Did you make the map art from scratch or used something to help?
@@ramperiakaruppan The rainbow one was made with some commands, the other 4 were fully by hand :)
@@adorablehoe That is impressive. In your next minecraft clip video try to show what the map art looks like in the world.
Watching in 360p on a 75" tv doesn't mix well lmao
I guess we watched it so early it hadn't finished processing. It has better quality now.
26:38 JerryRigEverything reference xD
26:39 "Scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at a level 7"
*Happy JerryRigEverything noises*
If you wanted Mojang to make it so baby mobs grow up normally, without influence by feeding food to it, just so that it feels legal and matches real life, then let me tell you, Skyblock maps will become 100 times longer, because trees would take 10-100 Minecraft days to grow up, and bonemeal would be useless, because Mojang would make everything match real time. Time in Minecraft works really different.
for some reason this video is locked as 360p for me, even though I can choose 720p, it just stops the video and I cant continue playing it
Completion Update:
Chests in every wood type, every stone-ish block gets stairs, slabs, walls etc. like everything else adding function to existing useless things, azelea wood and maybe just maybe barells in every wood type
the villager and their own farm stuff makes me think you're holding it hostage and they're bartering to get it back since they can't stop you as you can actually fight
also about the marketplace, it was originally intended to be a way for the people that make big (and by big I mean think of piokemon red in minecraft level) contraption maps. Obviously that's an example of something off the top of my head thats not in bedrock, but that was the kind of thing it was meant to help reward. It just devolved into the state it is.
20:00 THAT SIGN LOL
23:00 "It looks like a pigeon moves at about 5 frames a second" idk why but that line got me
16:00 that makes perfect sense, though.
"It is amazing that with the right tools you can get infinite of a resource just by having a farm!"
Toycat a cave person confirmed?
19:06 missed the opportunity to say "we try, we fly, and we die"
more videos like this Toycat, thanks
i like all types of cats, except for “black” b,cause its provoke creepers, otherwise i fire my crossbow upwards again and again and again
That cold/hot biome generating next to each other happened in my main survival world, back on the Nintendo Switch Edition.
It should be illegal to prevent someone from sleeping in the day. I am gonna sue Minecraft for not letting me sleep in the day.
What about turtle eggs? You breed 2 turtles, they lay between 1-4 eggs, you can still touch them and place them wherever to hatch. Then they eventually do spawning a baby turtle per egg. They have hatching textures for the egg too.
thats
how turtles work in real life though
@@lilycowlishaw2952 it's more the fact that it's an egg that doesn't work like the traditional spawn egg in Minecraft. I believe that's what I was talking about
"In minecraft you don't need legal documents to cross borders"😂

Hello
You can only enter the End Portal from below on Java, not on Bedrock. I'm surprised Toycat didn't know this, seriously.
21:28 How about 2.5 block ceilings?
Best of both worlds; you have a bit of room over your head and no endermen can get there.
i love adorablehoes maps there amazing, the editor did a fine job and great presentation from toycat as awlays top shelf content
Wow, who'd you pay to have this map made.
Seems like a new thing for this channel, buying custom maps.
Relatively new, he's had maps made for a few other videos as well
a compromise to a three-block-tall enderman-proof room could be a four block high room with slabs for floor and ceiling. Same difference i guess
The jerryrigeverything part was pretty funny to me for some reason
I know its TECHNICALLY more *efficient* to use a campfire but its much *faster* to use a smoker!
23:00 most birds look like they move at a low frame rate honestly
One time I accidentally punched one of my tamed wolves. It bit me in response, and then the others turned on it. It was very sad to see and I'm glad they fixed it so it doesn't happen anymore.
Toycat is “speaking of” so many things today
44:50 This is fully intentional. One of the fundamentals of the minecraft dev bible is that poisonous potatoes will never have a use, and this specific instance was labeled as intentional when someone complained about, thinking it was a bug.
I'm sure toycat knew all that ofc, just wanted to share for anyone who didn't know.
9:58 those open fence gates right there are an illegal feeling feature
It’s funny how feeding chickens seeds for breeding feels illegal, I thought it made sense. But it really did compared to it being wheat when I started.
24:30 No comments, no trials, no refunds, explicit marketing towards children, and a confusing currency exchange, and yet there are still worse game stores out there.
I think that redstone isn't meant to be electricity, but data cables for logic circuits and such
I wish someone was as proud of me, as toycat is to his map maker.
"Portals are blocks, which is weird because they look more like a portal to another dimension"
Mmmm yes the floor here is made of floor
