Same here. I’ve spent an hour trying to figure out what it is and I think the spring in mine is too look or strong. It puts so much pressure on flint and wheel that it won’t budge. Even if I put in a half used flint. So I’m done with this stuff and moving all my zippos to electric. This design could be changed and improved but they refuse to do so and move along with the times. So… Fixed my issue with a spark zippo insert. The one by zippo is ok, but spark has an angle built into it that I find more useful. No more refills, no more flints and frustration. 👍
@@arbernani4727 hmmm I dont recall that specific video of me saying they wont replace it, I did probably say it the weak point because it is anyone who uses a zippo for a while will know it gets loose and breaks with time BUT they have always replaced them or fixed them no problem :)
yes also very common they can be scraped out at that point with a paperclip through the flint hole but its a chore...unless your really careful with a small drill bit :)
My flint was stuck in the tube like you said it would be, weird because I had ran a metal rod through it a couple times to try to clear it and nothing seemed to be in there. *magic sounds*
Zippos are great for smokers but the fuel seems to evaporate quickly. I only need one to light my torch or start a fire Occasionally and mine is always dry . I wish someone would offer the old Scripto Vu- lighter again.
My problem was I put another cheap lighters flint in my zippo and the flint was too thick and got wedged at the end where the wheel couldn’t strike so I got a small knife wedged it between the flint and wheel striker and pushed down and then got a hammer and banged around the lighter till it fell out it was really stuck in there so note to the rest of y’all use standard zippo flints
Thank you! I've had a beautiful zippo for 10 years that I got when I was a kid, that stopped spinning back then. Now its functional! Thanks it means a lot.
The jammed piece was stuck out towards the front. If it had jammed from normal use it would have jammed on the side toward the wick. My guess is that it was spun backwards jamming the piece of flint out the front. Perhaps a trick gone wrong?
I remember not beeing able to spin the wheel and spent hrs till i found out that the spark stone whatever was tillt and blocked the wheel just used scissors to grab and turn it
@@cutlerylover I will admit it happens less often on that side of the wheel .. of course sometimes the almost spent flint jams tward the inside and I and others i know will spin the wheel backward then forward again to get one more light out of it . Sometimes the reverse spin results in what you found.
I just did that with my zippo, small piece of flint wedged into the wheel. Works fine now thank you!
just had that issue today myself your video helped alot to fix the problem.
I've used a zippo for better then 30 years. I never use zippo flints. I keep old bic lighters and take the flint out of them. They last much longer
@@dwightnix893 store bought flints or ones out of a old used up bic?
Magnificent. My lighter has never worked better. Thank you.
You saved my zippo, thank you
Just did this repair on a twenty year old chinese branded Camel lighter, works like new with the Zippo flint.
My new one gets jammed pretty often, and I hardly use it!

I remember a video about your armored zippo...
Why they don't fix the hinge?
im not sure what you are referring to but they will fix or replace any zippo for any reason...
@@cutlerylover you said the hinge of the zippo is their Achilie's heel...
My question is why they don't fix that part...

I've had more issues with really old flints swelling and corroding into a solid mass. I just have to pick at them with a needle

Good morning. I have this part of a lighter I took apart and do not know where it goes. Where can I send you the picture so you can help me? Thanks
Dude! This video is spot on. Thanks 🤘

Zippo or Spark insert. Recharge it like you charge your phone.

How would I get flint out, stuck inside of where it was. The wheel keeps getting stuck and no spark

EXACT same problem!! THANK YOU!!!!!
That’s a rather good camera, check to see if if has a macro feature for close ups. It would be a lot nicer than having to fiddle with a jewelers loop.
it does just not as magnified
THANK GOD ITS NOT ANOTHER RICKROLL
I'm fairly sure you have made a video on how to replace a wick in a Zippo lighter. Can you tell me where to find that video ? Thanks.

I'm not getting the spark I want in my 58 year old one but it's adequate most of the time but I want one strike every time.

The tube on my zippo is to high i think and it is making the striker not move or the striker is to low
you’re the man
My wheel is jammed up but the screw to take out the flint is stuck too.
I lost that piece that was stuck wtf as soon as I touched it it went flying
i think the audio is subpar with the new camera :/ sounds slightly muffled compared to your previous videos
I may get a mic to try out down the road
I just got mine today and it popped out and now it won’t even spark witch sucksss
Never seen it on that side weird
Sorted… Cheers pal!
So I replaced the flint with a new one and the shell is still stuck, what do I do now?
Shell=wheel*-
I remember not beeing able to spin the wheel and spent hrs till i found out that the spark stone whatever was tillt and blocked the wheel just used scissors to grab and turn it
FINALLY I GET IT ITS THE DAM FLINT THAT IT POP OUT WIT OUT ME KNOWING 😮
Exactly this happened to me on my first zippo after like 2 months
I need help with my zippo. The wheel wont turn, it has a new flint
I tried my hardest to get into these things but they are just ridiculous to maintain. A normal bic is better in every single way.
Thanks for the content
Actually rather common.
it may be but ive never seen this in 26 years of playing with zippos fixing hundreds and owning hundreds...

thx man helped a lot
You posted this after i just got a zippo slim for my 14th birthday thanks
Lol that was easy huh. Its pretty common like he said with Zippos. An its really not a hard fix, if u at least try.
this just happend to me today after abt 10 days of having it
Thank you!
Yeah, I just used a pocket knife. I flicked it out with the knife, never happened again.
Thank you.
It only takes two seconds to be absorbed
That happened with me once!
thank you very helpful
Nice
But I don't have a Zippo 🙃
👍
👍🏻🔥
I hope you are not just going to ignore that audio issue...
It is very distracting.
Now all the two year olds know how to use a lighter👍🏻
Nice! Also, first!
So?
@@stevebarnes2 I'm just following basic internet protocol.
@@sweeflyboy It's idiot protocol
What are we arguing about?
@@sweeflyboy Not an argument, "first" comments are just moronic.
I was wondering why you didn't just spin the wheel in the opposing direction, would have been an instantaneous solution
because it was jammed and obviously cant spin in any direction because of it.
It won't go in other direction
Yeah that's a new one!
Thank you!
