    You're a great teacher, and making these tutorials for no charges and helping a student is the best part, keep it up, and thank you Sir.

    This is an interesting technique. You can also put very low values (like 0) into the "Deactivation" settings under dynamics to achieve the same results without having to move your geometry.

    The most beautiful tutorial videos I've ever seen

    Awesome and simple. Had the same issue (R21) as some other's with the bevel interacting weirdly with connect, but just did it without the bevel.

    Cool.. I did not know the calculation for dynamics froze on rigid body after collision. I always learn something from your channel.

    Testing C4D trial and Redshift demo for fun. Great tutorial.
    Using Blender ordinarily but has been frustrated with the physics system as of late. Its so quirky, limited in some ways and does not behave as expected all the time. Like the rounding issue if the objects are too small.
    In C4D it just seem to work more consistently.
    The frozen dynamics problem seems gone in R21 but the Connect+Bevel does not play well thought. Geometry goes wacky.
    Anyway it great to follow!

    didn't know that the collision shape froze because the box being still. interesting solution!

      i'm sure there is a more elegant way to do it but for this kind of scene it does the trick nicely.

    Thank you very much ! I tried to do that before your tutorial but it wasn't working because of the freeze of the physic
    I have no idea how did you find this trick ? Messing around with everything ? It'll always amaze me how people find those kind of thing

    This is awesome. Is it just me or is the bevel function changed from R20 to R21? When applying bevel to my boole it makes weird lines from the corners of the square to my cylinder. Can´t get rid of it in R21!

    please instruct me how to make redshift appear on c4d r 21? i'm currently running on mojave 10.14. could that be a problem since the redshift website says that it's not supported on this OS. many thanks.

    I am a novice to C4d so please forgive me if my mistake is easily fixed! Everything is fine with the blocks falling down the hole, but only for about 220 frames, at that point they wont go in the hole and just float like before the micromovement trick. The platform is moving the whole 400 frames but it the moving trick is only working for the half the timeline

    • @RogerKilimanjaro
      @RogerKilimanjaro  5 років тому

      hm, maybe try a greater number like 0.002 or 0.005 ? it's not a really clean solution for this problem so this may not work for every situation.

    • @lukehallmedia
      @lukehallmedia 5 років тому +1

      In the simulation tag of the moving objects, set Linear Velocity threshold to something gigantic like 1,000cm, and the Angular Velocity to 0. At the moment the simulation is deactivating once the objects reach a certain velocity or spin.
