    My 60# Aussie rides in the sidecar and loves it. I have a similar harness, tethered fore and aft, eye protection and hearing protection. We are ready to leave in April on a 4,000 mile road trip. She’s the celebrity everywhere we go. I took her to see Arthur the King today. Highly recommended!

    Wow! The look of happiness on her face after the ride says it all! One very happy and lucky puppy! You guys are awesome! Made it look so easy. That only comes with experience. Love it! 😉

      Thank you! She did take to it quite quickly. But I sure learned fast that she does not like to be sitting in the sun. That's when the sharp baby teeth start coming out. She is definitely a K9 Moto Sunshield, shade-loving dog!

    My Aussie “Maya” has learned that when I put her harness on, we are going to ride. I open the garage and once I say “Go in!” , she jumps right in the sidecar and waits for me to tether and gear her up. I didn’t start with hearing protection for her, but being hearing impaired myself I am aware of it. My GoldWing isn’t loud, but wind noise at highway speeds is and with sustained or repeated exposures, dogs can suffer permanent high frequency hearing loss. I bought a military grade unit costing under $90. We are going on a 4,000 mile odyssey beginning April and lasting through August so I thought I needed to be responsible about her hearing.
    Thanks for the video. You let me know that although a little different, we were doing things right. Either that or we are both doing things wrong but don’t know it! LOL!

      Whenever we're riding long distances at high speeds we have Whimsy wear her Ear Pro from Rex Specs. It provides noise reduction. We rode with our previous shepherd for years and the vet never identified any hearing loss or related issues. We attribute that to not having loud pipes and using the Ear Pro when riding at high speed. Best of luck with your upcoming adventure and let us know how it goes!

    This is just so gorgeous. Love your passion towards Whimsy and getting her used to the bike. I may try this with Bess, my Hungarian Visla on my BMW F700GS .....

      Thank you very much! The F700GS makes a great platform for the K9 Moto Cockpit!

    Jess this is AWSOME!! I have been slowly working with my Loki to get him acclimated to the goggles (and Im guilty about not being consistent) but hes already shown a bunch of interest on getting on the bike.. maybe Santa Paws will bring him a moto-cockpit this winter for our 2024 adventures!!

      That's wonderful! Yes, the goggles definitely take time. Whimsy does well with them as long as it's not too hot out and we are stopped at a red light. Right when someone wants to film her is when she starts fidgeting like crazy trying to pull her goggles off making it look like it's the last place she wants to be! But she is getting better with them, ride by ride.

    But the ears are like wind tunnels? Doesn’t that create ear problems? Asking as guardian of 2 WWS.

      I act as a big wind block so I greatly reduce the wind that she gets. When Whimsy peaks out around me, she tilts her ears back to protect against the wind. We also have an ear protector that we use for higher speed riding.

    WhT about the ears? Does it not affect her hearing. I know that is one of the biggest issues for bikers is loss of hearing.

    • @GoRUFFLY
      @GoRUFFLY 8 місяців тому

      When we ride for prolonged periods she wears an ear protector against the wind and the noise. I also serve as a big wind block for her. But for the most part, she tilts her ears back away from the wind when we ride as she peeks out from behind me.
