I have been listening to her ever since this video came on youtube and I can clearly say that no newer versions of this thumri is as melodious as this one. I like to listen to it especially on UA-cam rather than on any music apps because on UA-cam, I can see her expressions. I like the Kavita Seth and Kaushiki Chakraborty versions also but this vesion is the best one out of all. I see a lot of comments in 2024 saying "who came to listen to this piece after seeing it in the movie Laapata Ladies" but I can proudly say that I've listened to this piece firstly, saw the comments secondly, and went to see the movie just to see how the artist sang this piece. It was a brief one and a half minute scene but it was melodious though not as much as Shobha ji sang it. What expressions Shobhaji is giving. She holds nectar in her voice. ❤

Kaushiki is very superfluous. Always adding nakhras and over the counter swar bistar for diverting the gallery... fundamentally, her gayaki is weak, particularly this one, to remind us that she's a classical singer in all her efforts... and people get swayed by her performances because people have been swayed by the other popular waves over the generations. They are just blindly following...
