I heard this album when I was 14 or 15 back in the mid '80s. I really like it ironically. It was a leap of faith recording this kind of music that was 50 years or less at that time.

When Sentimental Journey was released, I remember hearing the title track quite a bit on the radio. My copy of the album cost 25 cents, and while it's not mint condition, it is playable.

I guess since I lived part time with my grandparents, I really did enjoy the album when it came out and they bought it for me based on the title. The Beatles introduced me to classical music with their soundtrack albums having that type of music. This album got me into other standards and Frank Sinatra music etc. Thank you Ringo....and Thank you Mr Beatle Brad...Take care

Fun video Brad. Like Robert P I liked this album when it first came out. In fact I liked it a lot better than his country album. It's probably because I grew up hearing my dad's big band records and such. Another pop singer that does a great job on the old standards is Linda Ronstadt with her "What's New" and "For Sentimental Reasons" albums. I love those. Hope you are doing good brother. I haven't seen an All Things Must Pass video from you yet, but I'll keep looking. Anyway, I just got the I tunes download as well as the 5-LP set that's coming later this evening, and I think I'll call it quits for awhile. It's been a fun year for Beatle fans, but I did go a bit crazy with the whole McCartney III thing. In the midst of it, you're all "yeah - yeah - yeah, my life depends on this", but that isn't so. I don't see myself getting anything else until Ringo's next EP comes out - and what would you like to bet that these two will be reissued as a proper album WITH BONUS TRACKS - - I'm just waiting for that. I wouldn't put it past anyone. Take care, stay safe and I'll keep an eye for your All Things video.

Hey Brad, I watched The Sentimental Journey video and was surprised at how good it was. And no matter what anyone says, this is no where near Ringo's worst album. In fact, Blue Turning Grey Over You would be in my top ten faves by Ringo. Nice video. Take care...

I do have a lot of them now on DVD but I do think it would do well in sales !!! I wish I could get to the Ringo head company and do it or suggest it right lol :). I do think this album sure was a head of it's time . Now we have a lot of Artist doing the same thing . And I tell my friends that Ringo did this back in 1970 lol right !!!! This album was recorded in the UK and the master tapes usually reside where it was recorded. Therefore, the UK pressings used the master tapes and will sound superior to other country's pressings where the sub-master tapes were used. Good content Brad!

Hi Brad Reading the other comments it is ridiculous that you weren't allowed to use your own photos for the vid. UA-cam are getting really strict these days about copyright. We all want to hear the latest hits when we are younger and even our music tastes differ as we get older as well. I grew up with the big band music thanks to my dad, my mum didn't like what he listened to much either. I learned to appreciate it as I got older. The same with classical music and opera. Brad Well my Beatles For Sale on Parlophone arrived today and to be honest I’m kind of concerned. The record itself is quite nice, mono , thicker vinyl etc. , however the cover, which is a gatefold with the record sliding into the center of the cover as opposed to the usual right hand side, is REALLY flimsy. Not at all like a typical record cover like we’re all used to. Is this a pirated edition, a cheap ripoff or is it typically Parlophone????? I need your help with this one Brad. Thanks Paul

I haven't seen an All Things Must Pass video from you yet, but I'll keep looking. Anyway, I just got the I tunes download as well as the 5-LP set that's coming later this evening, and I think I'll call it quits for awhile. It's been a fun year for Beatle fans, but I did go a bit crazy with the whole McCartney III thing. In the midst of it, you're all "yeah - yeah - yeah, my life depends on this", but that isn't so. I don't see myself getting anything else until Ringo's next EP comes out - and what would you like to bet that these two will be reissued as a proper album WITH BONUS TRACKS - - I'm just waiting for that. I wouldn't put it past anyone. Take care, stay safe and I'll keep an eye for your All Things video.

Hey Brad, I watched The Sentimental Journey video and was surprised at how good it was. And no matter what anyone says, this is no where near Ringo's worst album. In fact, Blue Turning Grey Over You would be in my top ten faves by Ringo. Nice video. Take care...
Cool Tim I am glad you did see it . Don't you think it has be cleaned up a lot and looking good . I do think it would be great for them to but out a DVD of Ringo's promos !!! I do have a lot of them now on DVD but I do think it would do well in sales !!! I wish I could get to the Ringo head company and do it or suggest it right lol :). I do think this album sure was a head of it's time . Now we have a lot of Artist doing the same thing . And I tell my friends that Ringo did this back in 1970 lol right !!!! Great video Brad, I have two vinyl copies of Sentimental Journey, both U.S. never did listen to the album much .I don’t have it on CD but I may get a copy of it soon. Take care and great seeing Buddy again.
Cool that you have the vinyl ... You know the CD is a good way to re visit this one by Ringo . I do think Ringo sure was a head of his time now looking back . This album was recorded in the UK and the master tapes usually reside where it was recorded. Therefore, the UK pressings used the master tapes and will sound superior to other country's pressings where the sub-master tapes were used. Good content Brad!
Like I do say about a lot of my vinyl the UK is just the best sounding for me :") !!!!! It was fun to show you my Ringo SJ collection so fare .... I am always adding more stuff to it all lol . You know I don't get it either ... In lot of ways they are verry controlling . I went to Liver Pool and I took the Photo so Y not right ggg !!!! O well I need to slip it in a anther Ring video so if you do see it you can say O yes there are the Photos that he took. And the Ringo video will be 6 months later probably lol !!!! Hi Brad Reading the other comments it is ridiculous that you weren't allowed to use your own photos for the vid. UA-cam are getting really strict these days about copyright. We all want to hear the latest hits when we are younger and even our music tastes differ as we get older as well. I grew up with the big band music thanks to my dad, my mum didn't like what he listened to much either. I learned to appreciate it as I got older. The same with classical music and opera. It was nice to see Buddy again 🐶 Take care and have a good week. 🙂

Well my Beatles For Sale on Parlophone arrived today and to be honest I’m kind of concerned. The record itself is quite nice, mono , thicker vinyl etc. , however the cover, which is a gatefold with the record sliding into the center of the cover as opposed to the usual right hand side, is REALLY flimsy. Not at all like a typical record cover like we’re all used to. Is this a pirated edition, a cheap ripoff or is it typically Parlophone????? I need your help with this one Brad.
