another great inspirational video, I spray, so I'm getting a different look, but great results with the same glazes. I'm using the Randy base with less cobalt, still getting spotty purple. Thanks
John it's good to see some new videos from you. I have miss that. What you have put together looks really good. the listing of glazes you are showing are all in your cone 6 book ? thanks for showing. eddie.
Sometimes I don't know if I watch glaze making or standup comedy. I like both so it's double fun. Btw it looks to me that the test tiles have rougher surface therefore able to keep the glaze little better, not that runny as the smoothed out cups.
Thank you!! Question: some of the recipes in your book say bentonite but you dont have it on the recipes in this video. Is this something you talk about in other videos?
Depends on your opinion of crazing. These were just an illustration of the Over/under testing technique. But that said, some people won't use crazed mugs.
As usual the amount of information you give freely is mind boggling. Thank you.
Thanks John, this really helps on many levels, but I'm so glad to be learning how to better organize to systematically test is super helpful.
Thanks John!! This is fabulous! I love so many of these combos. Awesome organized testing.

Thank you for this video. I have some great effects with one coat of John's straw ash under one coat of transparent 20x5.
I will have to try it!
Happy you are back!

Awesome video

In the book, (Overview) I say all the recipes in the book need bentonite and Epsom salts. But for testing I don't do it. You can.
I have been sharing you with a potter friend in Japan
Hi John, I also noticed that there was some crazing in the mugs. Would this mean that they are not food safe?
Depends on your opinion of crazing. These were just an illustration of the Over/under testing technique. But that said, some people won't use crazed mugs.
So good!!
