Equation of time? Indeed, it's the difference between mean time for any given spot on the Earth's surface and the true solar time. With the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time in 18-karat rose gold, you'll know the size of the difference between the two.
Even better, this 43mm automatic complication offers the sunset and sunrise times (for New York City) and a perpetual calendar with moon phase that offers universal access to calendar readings... until the year 2100.
Inside the 43mm rose gold case sits Audemars Piguet's exceptional evolution of the JLC 920, here re-imagined as the 425-part/41-jewel Audemars Piguet caliber 2120/2808. Its ultra-thin construction is as beautiful as its hand-skeletonized, engraved, polished, and grained components. Despite its beguiling complexity, the entire Audemars Piguet perpetual calendar equation of time movement measures only 5.35mm thick - less than a simple Rolex caliber 3135.

Probably the greatest watch I seen. Brings together civil and solar concepts of time in an artistic way.
Gorgeous watch! It's amazing how perpetual calendars speak to me 😊
Great vid Tim!
+Amintas Neto Hi Amintas- and thank you so much for your kind understanding! This AP really offers so many romantic complications in a single watch that it's hard to resist. The moon phase, sunset/sunrise dials, and the broad sunburst on the EOT hand appeal to emotion while the perpetual calendar provides a practical daily reference.
Best,
Tim
That's a real piece of art right there.
Great review, a lot of useful information. The whole video could have been spent talking about the equation of time but im glad it was good it was kept to a minimal! thanks for uploading
Can you imagine the service costs and wait for this..lol
Just took mine to get serviced.. 5k to get it done
that is an incredible timepiece.
+Richard Stevens Every time I encounter one of these AP EOT/Perpetuals, I'm struck by how well AP incorporates so much complexity into a display that also succeeds on an aesthetic level. It's both clear to read and beautiful.
Best,
Tim
Wow this is awesome!
+Roelf van der Merwe AP's Offshore and Royal Oak are the company's rock stars, but models like this prove how deep the firm's talents and model line extend. This Equation of Time is a great example of a secret hiding in plain sight since even many AP collectors will enjoy the brand for years without encountering one.
Best,
Tim
this is an amazing watch !
+Watch Collector Very true! I was impressed in so many ways, but perhaps the greatest surprise for me was how easily I could wear this 43mm watch. Even the 42mm Royal Oak Offshores feels like they're pushing the limits of my wrist, but this 43mm round case was an absolute pleasure and a great fit. Considering how traditional the round case shape is, perhaps this Jules Audemars proves that the oldest solutions often remain among the best!

Maybe obvious, but it doesn't know your longitude. In a "well behaved time zone", your offset from the time zone center can be up to 30 minutes. It can be worse than that in some time zones. In comparison, the offset due to the earth's orbital eccentricity combined with the axial tilt of the earth is +/-15 minutes. The cool thing, is that you can compute the offset due to longitude once, but the equation of time offset is changing all year long. Hope I didn't bore anyone.
wow...this is...the King of France's watch! (if you know what I mean)
