Me and Cheap Cheap are lifelong enemies, have been for some time now. I don't know, years. Ever since I first played Parappa the Rapper and got to the cake stage. I enjoy the song just like I enjoy all the others. But boy, do I have a few bones to pick with her. Chicken, you're stressing me out by angrily jumping next to me while I'm trying my hardest to make a cake. It's good that people are still talking about Parappa, it makes me really happy. I've played both Parappa 1 and 2 so much, in the early days of my Parappa love I bought a PSP just so I could play the first game myself, I've never used that thing for anything else. Then I got a hold of Parappa 2 for PS2 and naturally played that like there was no tomorrow. Eventually I bought both games on PS4 and we all know just what that means. "Kick, Punch, it's all in the mind!" Goddamn I love these games, and the songs are all catchy as hell. They really are impossible to just listen to normally, I always find myself rapping along as I play. They just slap, hard. Long live Parappa. I gotta thank PewDiePie for playing the first game when he did, because that's what started this all for me.
Fun fact: There's an unused BLACK BEANIE, which is even harder than the hard versions of the yellow beanie, also some songs sound incredibly better in this unused difficulty, which BTW, it's FULLY PROGRAMMED, so, by cheating it in and unblocking it, you can play an even harder gamemode!
Actually, by holding the left (or right, i can’t remember right now,,,) trigger when starting a stage while having the yellow beanie unlocked, you can have it.
This is so high quality, how come doesnt it have much views? You definitely deserve more! I also feel quite honored to see my PSP multiplayer footage in the video. Keep it up!
Enjoyed this video! I’ll admit I’m more biased to Um Jammer Lammy because that’s the one I played as a kid. I only ever played the demo for Parappa back then. And can you believe that I didn’t realize there was a Parappa level unlocked in UJL until I was grown? I stumbled upon it by accident. I thought the Rammy vs and together levels were all that existed. Me and my younger sister really had fun playing together.
My god.. waitin for another high quality review of a series like this, just amazing! (and thank god you mention the offset slider icon in the ps1 parappa lol, nobody did it yet) also imo Um Jammer Lammy is best game
28:25 actually that’s a censor in the Europe and Japanese version I think for Japanese lament is running and slips on a bananna peel does and goes to hell you even get a fourth wall break
Something I found out recently is that in Um Jammer Lammy you can activate a GameShark code that forces the alternate music to play, meaning you can play Stage 6 as Parappa with Lammy's instrumental, and it fits stupidly well, posesix made a video on it called PaRappa raps to Rock music, and it's so good, I wish you could switch tracks. Parappa sings his own bars for most songs and it's awesome lol
Prpject diva series is one of the few rythmgame series that also has the effect of failing to press the buttons on time turning off the vocals, not all songs but most of the songs have that feature
You can skip the cutscenes in Parappa The Rapper 2 including boxy boy when starting stage by pressing both L1 and L2 in the control before starts and transition to the level
I feel like there is still more to be made with the parappa the rapper formula. Indie devs have done a great job at making games inspired by parappa like scratchin' melodii with its new gameplay features or the more popular indie game FNF. Melodii is MUCH more like parappa though and inovates using the parappa formula imo.
Honestly, NEVER got my hands on Parappa, but Scrathin' Melodii (an upcoming game with Parappa the Rapper playstyle) convinces me to check out one of the ps4 remasters of the game THAT STARTED A GENRE. MIght update when i get one of the remasters EDIT: I actually played Parappa The Rapper 2 a bit, and it's neat.
im confused that on the first line, its offset but when your playing on the second line, it has no offset at all, also on the remastered, the first line offset is kinda fixed, but then the second line feels early, so both of them are equal in bad? though its still a great game and easy to get used to, it adds a bit more difficulty :D
Ptr 2 is easily my favourite out of the trilogy, simply because of the music (and also the story was way more coherent out of the three). That's it. The music carried it for me, but i respect people opinions on it, they're valid.
Pretty much entirely unrelated, but I find it weird how the best ways to play PaRappa 1 and 2 are on the Ps4, and the best ways to play UmJammer Lammy (And also Vib-Ribbon, one of Nana onsha's other games) is on the Ps3. You'd think that it'd make more sense to create new fans with one console, and put the spin-offs on the next to attract all the new fans you just made. Porting/remastering the games like this probably sold more PS3s than PS4s, which is kinda weird to think about lol

Ok... so yknow about cheap cheap chicken, right? Well, if you don't get it yet, I ended up getting cool on every stage, EXCEPT CHEAP CHEAP. IT REALLY IS THAT HARD.
26:50 ayo no way she uses a guitar as a guitar. there aint no way she does that. that doesnt make any sense why would she also in cool mode you can use special codes to enter fever mode to get more points from the button the paticle shows
there is a reward for 100% cool mode in ujl, you get a song player. Also I think you're not giving UJL enough credit. It seems like it's the only one you didn't end up playing growing up.
I’m surprised there’s no 4 year old commenting on a video like *NOoOOOoOo Fnf WAs ThE 1St REhAm gAME yOU’rE LyiNG oN AaAAllLLLLLLLllL Of tHiS No nO NO* on most of the PaRappa videos I watched even though there probably is one

Yo why is this video so good? bro why is UA-cam so stubborn with small UA-camrs? 🥺
I genuinely thought this had at least 100k views! Super underrated!
Hands down one of my favorite games on the PS1. Number 1 still being Metal Gear Solid
I needed this video 👍 very well done 😭
Quality retrospective this. Deserves more views
Bro how does your channel only have 600 subscribers bro you should at least be a 10,000 subscribers like this is amazing
I don't how, but I got the Cheap Cheap level FIRST TRY. I have no idea how I did it, but, I did.
this video is amazing.
Bro!! I wish we could get um jammer lammy 2, or parappa the rapper 3
Idk about it. But probably never coming out since playstation isn't interested in letting them make a sequel
