@@EC2019 I think he means natural in that he doesn't have that strained pinchy sound like a lot of countertenors. He has a nice mellow blended sound. His transition between his chest and head range is very seamless unlike most countertenors.
@@junojones6249 Kathleen Ferrier sang Baroque in an anachronistic inauthentic wartime musty fuzzy tone, though a voice like that is well suited to later more sentimental music. Just not Handel or Bach, which demand clarity and purity of tone. However, this Orlinski guy (is in this video at least) effete, has poor pronunciation/diction and fizzles out at the end of his lines. Not what we need either. I recommend both of you listen to Andreas Scholl.

Such a charismatic singer! Stage presence just perfect! Fantastic voice so different from other countertenors! The choir female singers seem to really enjoy his performance (and looks😁)
My only objection is that they cut out the chorus' section except for the first few notes. But Mr. O's portion was excellent, as always; I don't think he could sing badly if he tried.
You are right. But as person who created this video - we don't got full concert, only already cut part's with Jakub Józef Orliński. You can see full concert from links in descriptions.
He's extremely talented, but I don't think this is one of his best performances. His singing here seems rushed, especially during the recitative. That is not to say he did something wrong. It was just not to my liking.
This performance had cringey issues but tremolo in place of vibrato was not one of them. Some of the ornamentation was excessively trilly/flouncy though, is that what you mean?
@@stevenmeldrum7014 What is the excessive ornamentation in Baroque? In Baroque you can improvise and put ornamentation according to your own taste. When you see so called "urtex" editions they do not suggest any ornaments (just blank score), you need to be creative to incorporate them.
The conductor began the aria a beat late after the recit. He should have begun with only a down (like the Beethoven 5th, no prep). The intro to the aria was late. Typical. The singer is good technically...very good. But there is no fire of belief. This performance is for engineers only. No transcendence, which Handel would have expected without really thinking about it much. A shame.
@@hannab.120 I disagree... Everything is very well composed and stylish here to add to the beautiful and unusual countertenor singing. His voice colour is so unusual for a countertenor. Fantastic.
@@Stan-j3j No - he's a much better Counter Tenor than I ever was but he's a long way off from the serious contenders!! There are so many 'Counter Tenors' these days but only a few reside on the 'A' list. They're capitalising on Jakub's youthfulness and good looks - he looks great in fact but if you listen carefully to the likes of Iestyn Davies, Andreas Scholl, Tim Mead, Philippe Jaroussky (to name but a few) his vocal capabilities are a long way off. Any half decent singer will confirm that to be the case! I'll leave you with this wonderful rendition from Tim Mead's latest album. I hope it helps to demonstrate my point. ua-cam.com/video/wwJv7nsI5Cs/v-deo.html
@@Cantorisalto1 I really value Tim Mead and love his singing but here in the recording you recommended to me he mostly sings in the lower register which is murky water for countertenors. He does not keep the sound unified well enough and resonate well. I would point out to his much better (fantastic) recordings. Obviously, it is my own opinion resulting from my own preference and taste.
@@Stan-j3j to me his lower register is rich and luxurious, totally consistent and all the way his strong suit in the given example here!! I could listen to Tim Mead for hours and never want my money back!! As you suggest it comes down partly to personal taste but technically by far I do find Tim Mead streets ahead in terms of maturity of voice and tone and the production of it far beyond what Jakub is producing. Are you a singer by the way???
Bellissimo ragazzo, peccato per la voce. Ma questo è quello che vogliono i registi oggi (e non fatemi dire altro... Non voglio essere cattivo),e purtroppo anche il pubblico ignorante, sembra.
This is not an easy recitative and aria. Jakub shows how much he delights in musical challenges that are redolent with difficulty.
He sounds very natural, unlike many countertenors. I listened to him live and he sounds even better.
He certainly does not sound natural, this is a very artificial tone. That's the whole point of falsetto.
@@EC2019 I think he means natural in that he doesn't have that strained pinchy sound like a lot of countertenors. He has a nice mellow blended sound. His transition between his chest and head range is very seamless unlike most countertenors.
Those beautiful sopranos in the background were enjoying that performance.
Yes, our Lord.... without autotune.... The real music never will die ...... I love you, Jakub J. Orlinski....

Incredible wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing! In these times of locked down and locked in :-)...we need your Music more than ever, Jakub!
Uno de los mejores contratenores actuales, voz de timbre bello y musicalidad soberbia. Bravoooo.
Please Jakub, don’t neglect to release some of this material on CD, not all to UA-cam ❤️

Marvellous!
Excellent performance, but it's a crime to cut off the final chorus. This wonderful piece was written for soloist and choir.
Merci beaucoup de partager avec nous
The most sought after contre tenor at the moment whose voice is recognizable among the rest of the contre tenors
Спасибо за красивое исполнение.Молодец!!!
Wonderful. Thank you.
Super!!

A countertenor singing this amazing piece... Now I will have troubles listening it otherwise. 🙂
Best countertenor ever. Does Jakub Józef Orliński ever sing Bach's erbarme dich mein gott? I can't find it if he does.
divine!
Jerrrrrrusalem! Arrrise!

Where can I hear the rest of the chorus for this TvT

My late wife ,a contralto ,used to sing it.

Not good idea to cut out the choir part...!!
He's also a Jedi Knight
Nooooooo the chorus also pleaseeeeeee

Terrific voice but however nimble the playing give me a small period instrument band and choir anytime.

Oof. No.
A very pure voice but his vibrato is the only thing I don't like, more like a tremolo.
Vibrato? Heard it once or twice... and appropriately.
This performance had cringey issues but tremolo in place of vibrato was not one of them. Some of the ornamentation was excessively trilly/flouncy though, is that what you mean?
E C his vibrato is definitely on the quick side for my taste. I agree it has cringey issues such as excessive ornamentation...
