More in the way of preparing for the pool opening is "de-winterizing" the backyard. What I mean by that is basically the cleanout and cleanup of all of the dead plants, leaves, and other vegetation from last year and over the winter. This was a preliminary attempt. While it doesn't look like much was done, there was actually a tremendous amount of work I did. I ended up filling up 3 garbage cans full of yard waste. Now that all of that is cleaned up, the backyard doesn't look quite as unkempt, and in fact has tidied up a lot.
It's important to clear all of that stuff because some of it grows in areas I'm going to be working, such as the southeast corner of the backyard, and over where the pool equipment will be installed. So I need all of that cleared out so I have some "elbow room".
There's a tremendous amount of work that is left to be done in the back, and the front. Lawn needs mowing, hedges need trimming, power washing to do, the list is endless.
