  • Starting with this video, we will bring you a few draping tutorials on a size 42 dress form. Our first one covers the „Bar Jacket“. It’s a modern twist on the timesless hourglass silhouette.
    今回からサイズ42のドレスフォームを使用したドレーピングをいくつかご紹介します。さまざまな体型にドレーピングでアプローチすることも次の時代のファッションにとって大切なテーマだからです。まず最初のビデオはディオールの「バージャケット」をベースにしています。 美しい砂時計のようなシルエットを現代的にアレンジしています。

    Hi Tamotsu , It’s such a pleasure to see you drape on the stand, you are fascinating . Everything is crystal clear to me except the part of the sleeve when it’s flat on the table . How do you exactly determine the angle of the elbow in centimers to create the foreseam ? It seams you trace a parallel line 3cm away from the line creating the first quarter of the sleeve ( at 20:19 ) Also how do you determine the outer angle of the elbow ? I would really love to have the exact method for this … It remind me the way Annette Duburg & Rixt Van Der Tol explained how to create the draping arm in their book but not 100% similar . Could you explain me in detail ? Or give me the reference of this method ? Is it coming from Bunka methods perhaps ? Thank you in advance

      Thank you for watching the video. There are two reasons why the sleeves are bent at the elbow: anatomical reasons and the zeitgeist of design. The angle of the arm bend is not the same in the 18th century as it is in modern times because of the different lifestyle. Our arms are a little straighter today than in the past. And the angle of refraction of the arm is different in casual and classic jackets. You need to understand the design and set the right angle for your application. There is also an anatomical reason for moving the front elbow line 3 cm inwards. For women's sleeves about 3 cm is enough, but for men's sleeves you need to shift the seam by about 4 cm. We are preparing a video explaining just the sleeves, so look forward to that.

    How do you construct the pocket?

    • @kondosdrapinglibrary9070
      @kondosdrapinglibrary9070  5 місяців тому

      Extend the seam under the darts to the side seam. Use that seam to sew the pocket sack together.

      @@kondosdrapinglibrary9070 would it be possible to maybe do a video on the construction? I know your account is about draping so I understand if not, I just thought I'd ask because I've followed everything step by step and I'm not sure how to sew everything together now I've got the pattern done. Thank you for all your videos, I've learnt so much from your channel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
