My first Dead show. Thanks for the memories.❤
Guess Stagger Lee is resting , so not to miss Church !!! Thanks Okie ⚡ been listening but haven't had time to comment the past couple of days ✌
I feel refreshed after going to church ! So I decided to come back here !!!
I didn't comment on this yesterday.
Didn't get to it after Jerry Church. This board is great. It has that echo like I'm floating inside the soundboard. I love that effect. I remember this Rain-Good Times-King Bee opener so well. Great show at a time when many Heads were hopping off the bus yet they still sold out this decrepit arena. Cops lined up in riot gear after the shows. You gotta love the deep dark depths of South Central LA. Don't forget to pack your .45 🔫 Branford stood in for the entire Sports Arena show on 12/16/94. Could we have that gem coming? Only Okie knows!
This was my last tour . Miss those days . Thanks Okie !
I REMEMBER THIS ONE , GREAT SHOW TY
I was at this show...12-18-1993 not the 8th...thank you for letting me re- live it!
In 93 it was the 8, 9,10 of December, after 2 hours in traffic just to go around the block, got let in aside entrance by a nice black lady security while the main entrance was insane! miss Jerry 😁😎😳
Okie with those 1am goodies!! Thank you!!!! 🌹⚡🌹
Jerry's guitar has an acoustic sound on Stagger. Could this be the early days of Lightning Bolt? I didn't notice it not being Rosebud when I was there.
A run through the youtube search engine showed me this is Lightning Bolt. It sounds like an electrified acoustic guitar.
True story - I was in hand grenade training in Ft Leonard Wood Missouri the day they were playing this show. Only music I got to hear that day was 3 Dog Night "Never Been to Spain" playing out of a drill sergeant's truck lol.
Eric Lowber Thanks for your service!!
Thanks Okie!!!
show #92 of 93 for me. the next night was the last time I saw them live.
Great version of Rain ☔️!! I’ve never heard them play that one before. Can’t wait to hear I Fought the Law either!! Nice Sunday morning Surprises, Okie!!!
Fuck law
Interesting set list!!
I agree although it was the first of the 2 Dead Shows I saw
Thank you sir
👋 God- Damn I do declare... good stuff! Mickey is driving this one, high in the mix
My first Dead Show had no idea how they would change my life
Sunday morning peakin with masterpiece to row jimmy - Stay Woke
Was pretty cool seeing this....
Bravo!!!
Came here to find the St Stephen tease out of Drums/Space (it’s 🔥)
Weirdest Dead setlist I've ever seen! The first set of a Grateful Dead show usually always has either Touch of Grey, Shakedown Street, Feels Like a Stranger, Jack Straw., or Bertha. Not this time lol! I Know You Rider noticeably absent also. King Bee!! Cool!
2:17:00 on wards sounds like Jerry teasing St Stephen before Last Time
The best part of space is the songs they tease near the end, and whatever they eventually transition into. To say it another way, the best part of Space is when it's done!
@@squidmixerI like listening to drums/space on double speed 🫨
Well, shiver me timbers.
And ahoy
Is one of the drums tuned far too loudly to begin the show?
Also does anyone remember the girl in the green velvet dress twirling the entire time they where playing I was mesmerized by her little did I know I would become a twirler myself
I can show you!!!!
Dead Covers complete. They did NOT do a show without at least 1 cover.
I went thru all of setlists in Deadbase and did not trust the incomplete setlists from 1966-69. There were a dozen or 2 shows with 1 cover, but no shows where they did not do a known song by someone else, or a traditional song [peggy-o, we bid you goodnight, Minglewood …] that they wove into their own.
Peglegpeete not surprised, thanks for checking. ✌️
After a while it got weird funny. 1972-3 it seemed like the only opener Bobby played was Promised Land, and when Jerry opened, like clockwork, he came back with Me & My Uncle.
Wow man, I thought there might be a couple at best, no such show. Thanks for looking though!
I was there with unknown chick lol
