Given the fact that Storm has strong relationships with Captain Marvel, Thor, Black Panther, and Scarlet Witch, Storm's presence in the Avengers will lead to some very interesting stories involving Storm and the other Avengers.
Storm being the mutant Representative for the Avengers just makes good sense. She is one of the most prominent, popular & powerful mutants there is. Hell, she controls the fucking weather & has can do magic, being the descendent of a former Sorcerer Supreme. She's gonna steal the show & we should be happy & cheering for her. If you're an X-Fan, you're gonna be where the mutants are, no matter where.
Ok I disagree with the Gambit Rogue thing and like all ships in Marvel it's going to end because Marvel is always trying to raise their characters higher even ending some ships and that one will end worse than Spider-Man and MJ being most mutant ships are games to Marvel!! Now the Storm thing I agree with because you can't only be just an x-men forever. Most of the mutants are stuck in the white hot room far away from earth and won't be back anytime soon! The humans don't mind them being off the earth due to anti- mutant hate, Storm can spread her wings just like Rogue did when she became an Avenger, this can expand professor Xavier's ideal of co-existence and diversity is the only way we all don't die out!! Think of this in a way of having a job, you may or may not like the job, but if you do, great, it's very rare anyone would love their job and I'm pretty sure Storm loves the x-men. They were her family after her parents died and they've been a big part of Storm's life, but in a way Storm is spreading her wings and taking the professor's dream to greater places! Think of it this way, you love your job, but the pay isn't enough to get you where you need to be, you invent a product or hustle that seems to bring in big money. First you want to experiment, so you rent a space at a flea market to see what happens. You suddenly make more in two minutes than you've worked at your job five years, you tell people you are setting up a website so you came start a home based business! Even if you love your job, you're going to quit and move on because the very thought of controlling your own destiny, having your freedom, creating your own hours, not having to report to your boss, finally taking that expensive vacation you've been promising to take, Storm is starting her own business by starting her own series and on the side joining the Avengers further spreading Charles dream of peaceful co-existence, but now mutants and all races of beings can learn to work together to safeguard the universe! Rogue wants that as well and if she has to divorce Gambit to better herself don't for a second think a smooth talking cajon is going to make any southern belle drop the dream of peace and co-existence between races of people and Gambit's prime agenda isn't what professor Xavier has in mind. During the Rogue and Gambit series we saw some of this selfishness and at one time a human almost got hurt because of this attitude Gambit showed, in fact his hesitation to rescue Manifold almost got Manifold and if the Dominion was successful coming online, the multiverse, it seems that more and more Gambit's actions and behavior is starting to put the multiverse in danger, Rogue see's this and so does the rest of the x-men and she will not stay with a person who doesn't care about hero duties! Keep in mind in order to be on any hero team, especially the x-men you first priority and civic duty is to show the humans that not all mutants are dangerous and these mutants are willing to serve humans as heroes as well as help all mutants!!!!! Storm is now taking this ideal to the next level and I'm sure whenever Storm get's a chance she will come visit her teammates to let them know she's doing well and misses them dearly ,but loves the fact that professor Xaviers dream is still alive and now spreading not just across the planet, but now the multiverse, which will have a much bigger impact! Rogue will leave the x-men with or without Gambit, it looks like the latter eventually in order to not just keep her promise to the professor, but to take it further and create new avenues to superheroism!! Storm will not forget her mutant roots, but at the same time she doesn't have to be a x-man to be a hero. The status quo is changing, eventually many other x-men will spread out and create their own teams of heroes, DC does this and it's proven successful!

Storm has been one of the characters that i feel is best written. She has been one of the best leaders in Marvel Histroy, a caring friend, paternal to those needed motherly nature and a force of justice when she needed to be. She is a goddess. And she is awesome. So lets do this.
Storm and Colossus were on an alternate universe Avengers team in the 80s. The timeline was erased, due to Kangs
I don't keep up with the comics, but the idea of seeing Storm and Thor team up and how their powers could feed off each other sounds pretty cool.
Storm has been on the Avengers before. I don’t understand what all the talk is about. She is a powerhouse and fits in with the avengers. People are crazy.
I'm excited for this, but people are saying she didn't do anyting on the avengers last time. This time it seems like they'll treat her well.
Cosindering the recent Sarlet Witch run, where she is treated as a sister in magic, I wonder if they will delve more into that
I dislike the idea that Storm joining the Avengers is her joining "The Big Leagues". As if the X-men haven't always been the premier team in the Marvel Universe up until the MCU became a thing.
I see this argument a lot, but never a good one as to why the MCU doesn't count, as if X-Fandom has never benefitted from non-comics media.
@@tylerdurden3798 What? "Until"; so it was Xmen until in 2008 they set it up to be Avengers, what in there "doesn't count" to somebody? MCU counting is literally the reason Avengers became big anywhere OUTSIDE the comics medium.
Even when they were the B tier comic they were still the big leagues in canon always just like the justice league.

Wolverine, Storm, Manifold, Sunspot, Cannonball and Beast have been on the main Averagers team. I don't see the problem is. That's not even counting the Uncanny Avengers. Members of the Eternals, Inhumans and Fantastic Four have also joined. Characters can have a life outside their main teams.

I do agree that not a lot of X-Men and/or Storm fans know much of anything about the X-Men and/or Storm…most definitely Storm as many of them or fans of the Fox Movies. One thing many don’t and only few do know is that even at Storm’s most powerful exertion she’s only using up to if not only 50% of her power at all times. They don’t know that Storm can read energy levels and knows how to attack based on that as she did with Vulcan but I knew this was coming when they had her more involved with Thor lately especially when he convinced her that she didn’t need an atmosphere to work with because she had the power to create an atmosphere all on her own. I knew then that Marvel was breaking her free from her limitations. Weather is cause and effect and play an important part in the universe so why not have her reach into her full potential and that can not be done on a team such as the x-men because of that fact that they wouldn’t even need a team if Storm was there using above 50% of her power.
Putting her on the Avengers is a great decision because, like you said, they are a team of Gods and I’m speaking on Marvel Woman (is that who she is or is it Mrs Marvel🤦🏾♂️Captain Marvel…so many of em running around I can’t remember because I lost interest), Vision and Thor. I know Scarlet Witch is considered god levels but the fact that they switched her powers altogether to make her powerful is nothing compared to someone who has real growth such as Storm and even Thor of their own power. Now I disagree with you on who will approach Storm, yes she and Carol has an outstanding relationship even as of late in the “Voices of Marvel" and I believe Storm is one of the few X-Men who has a good friendship with She-Hulk, Susan Storm, Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and a few others outside of the mutant race. Personally I believe it will be Thor who will approach Storm because she has shown great respect for and he has for her for a long time and has been been seeing Storm more of an equal and Goddess more and more lately.
I don’t follow the Avengers (I guess I will now, right) cause there’s no one I find interesting on the team except for Thor and Black Panther but that’s not enough to make me a dedicated fan like I am with the X-Men who has a lot more who I like. Now I must leave the X-Men for the Avengers because at the end of the day…I am solely a true Storm fan…I go where she goes…damn Avengers learned how to get my money😩! I don’t know the current Avengers roster but isn’t that arrow dude on it and Black Widow…😩this is what will hold Storm back and place her on the back burner and limited to wind and lightning only cause the street level heroes will need their shine too. Well at least we’ll see Storm use more hand-to-hand skills…as if Janelle Monae possibly playing Storm wasn’t bad enough news

Danvers spent so much time around the X-Men in the 80s when I started reading X-Men in the 90s as a kid and collecting back issues, I assumed she was a mutant. It was just a fact in my head that didn't get corrected until like 01' lol
Storm already has a position that suits her power level...on Arakko...which Marvel is scrapping because.....something something lol

For Storm she's trying out her Avenger legs, but I know why Colossus is joining, especially after how Kitty left him at the altar! Colossus still has feelings for Kitty, but right now he's still tender and can't be on a X-team right now knowing she is leading one of the teams, then his ship with Domino is in limbo right now Colossus needs therapy and a fresh new start in his Superhero career will help him move on and do something to raise his popularity!

The only thing the kinda grinded my gears was the blerb about Storm has outgrown the XMen and goes to the Avengers as if to say the Avengers are somehow better. I wasn’t raging over it, but i definitely gave it a bombastic side eye. Guess I gotta start picking up Avenger books
OK I see your point, but then lets try this hypothetical, what if Rogue joins Guardians of the Galaxy, leaving Gambit and being a part of a space team and she becomes like a big popular cosmos wide icon? Would you have a problem with that? I wouldn't I'm sick of Gambit and then holding Rogue back! She can still believe in Charle's dream, only now she can spead the inspiration across the omniverse! I had a premonition that Rogue becomes the greatest mutant ever to be produced from the x-men and she i the mutant icon, but it seems the writers are holding Rogue's true potential back! Maybe next summer somebody at Marvel will stand up for my favorite mutant, I'm happy for Storm, but don't dump on Rogue! I wish only the best for Storm given she's one of my favorites, but sometimes the writers need their jobs threatend for being complicient about certain characters, maybe one of the writers hate Gambit and taking it out on Rogue and don't like their present qroject, alright, then go to the higher ups and tell them you're not happy! That writer may get canned, butMarvel will eventually buckle if a storyline doesn't sell like they expected it to! Storm is selling big already, going to get bigger now that she's joining the Avengers, but Gambit isn't moving any higher, in fact he's sinking!I guess the majority don't care about him, but they're going crazy over Rogue and Storm, I'm crazy for Storm and I'm happy she's speading her wings!

@@christopherbyrdakaSuperman I wouldn’t care if they put Rogue on Guardians. I also don’t really care that they put Storm on the Avengers. My issue was framing it a way as to say the XMen are lesser than. Travel the cosmos, be government sanctioned, but they didn’t really need to sh*t on the XMen as a group to do that (which is what the blerb from the comic proposal came off as to me).
Side note : Gambit and Rogue are my favorite marvel couple, so I’m glad that the team finally pulled the trigger and let them marry. I think you can still get growth from both of them in stories. Them being married and together wouldn’t hinder that. The only thing it stops is romantic storylines with other people, which isn’t something I want (or is necessary) from either of them anyway.
They should also make Bobby Drake the Herald of Galactus, for character growth opportunities. I like the idea that Galactus is sort of a diffident tyrant who produces energy into the world, by happening upon the sacrifice to take it out of the world. His body heat is the excess like vitality of the Sun.
Iceman rebelling against humanity and later gaining perspective like Norrin Radd in 1991 would be sick.
I guess your ego couldn't handle it, like a college club not getting the respect of a Harvard professor. Even when this entire story still grounds itself in a preppy SCHOOL that already is a privilege to bloat one's ego.

I'm all ready to watch the absolutely *messy* fallout of Storm working on the same team as her damn ex, or at least seeing him more often. (and I was like for the love of god, get Blue Marvel in the mix. He is so underused, and I did love his turn in Return of Magneto. We need more of him.
I was also one of those readers going "WTF, do you even remember her long romance history with FORGE, Marvel writers" when they started the Storm/BP ship and tried a First Boy Wins with that. )
However, the idea that she'll be filling the Thor spot is pretty cool. Although I totally agree with you. Thor explained the difference between their powers quiiiiite clearly during that scene you alluded to.

I'm torn. She totally deserves to be on the Avengers and I like the idea that she is being upgraded in a sense. On the other hand, I love how she relates to the other X characters so I will miss that.
Never been a fan of any X-affiliated characters joining an Avengers roster but Storm is good representative for the mutants. Really any of the OG X-men would have worked: (Cyclops, Jean, Angel, Iceman Beast) Havok & Polaris would be great as well. Hopefully Monica Rambeau will join roster soon.

I prefer when Characters are just featured on one team instead of being spread out in multiple teams and solo series like Wolverine or Batman. So if it is focused afford im all for it.
honestly I would have preferred they go with a lesser used mutant (and there are plenty) to join the avengers on a more permanent level and just have here doing her thing in arakko which would make more sense if she is going to leave the xmen (which lets be real she will be back to the xmen in the near future), I honestly would have preferred synch, frenzy or iceman.
Also for the among equals statement I think its less about storm being at the level of the avenger and more about how it low keys diss the xmen and storms time there, I hope they dont try and make it so that storms hates/ dislikes the xmen for drame sakes like what they did with her and charles cuz it made her seem petty which storms isnt.

I wonder one thing: How long will Storm be on the Avengers for? Is it going to be permanent, or temporary. I'm not hating on Storm or anything, I'm glad she's joining the Avengers in August, I just wonder how long until she either leaves herself, or the Avengers vote her off.

Have you read Isom? For the most part it's a good. Its a 3 part book. Only 2 books came out. However the first book is good to start, in my opinion. Just keep in mind that he had this idea for years & he finally put it out.

Blerd, I’ve seen the extreme hate towards Beau regarding storm in X-men 97 on twitter & it’s all uncalled for. Storm is one of my favorites too and I think she was really well represented. I hope beau doesn’t take it to heart because you really can’t please everyone, especially the extreme fans that want their faves to solo every fight scene
This probably means she will be one of the first mutants in the MCU

The leadership, at least tactically, does seem to vacillate. BP and Cap have behaved like leaders at time.
Very happy about this, Storm is THE X-MAN for me, but if she's not leading the main team I feel she ends up being underutilized (I.E. the entire 2000s). Avengers works better as it wouldn't really make sense for her to lead a team she has far less history with. Great that she's getting a solo too, Marvel has been ignoring the solo series potential of every black hero besides T'Challa for far too long now.

Did anyone ask her? I 'd love to be on that interview panel. My question would be "Ms. Monroe, why do you want to be in the Avenger? How do you feel 'bout working with a powerhouse like Mr Hawkeye er Mr CB over there?".
I like the storm pick but I think it could have been cyclops.
He might not be omega lvl or the "mightiest", but the krakoa era puts him as of symbol of mutanhood more than ever. He was a xmen leader and oppose the quiet concil. He was also the symbol of the fall, litteraly. They use him to falsy accuse mutant and, in the end, he still oppose Xavier.

I have no issue with this, personally I could see some interesting conflict between her and T’Challa as both have been married to each other and both have lead nations but no longer do so I could see them butting heads a lot. Plus given how humanity embraced Orchis it will be interesting to see how humanity responds to a mutant once again being an Avenger as outside of Tony now being married to one mutants had no representation on the Avengers and haven’t for a while even before the Krakoan era (I think the last mutant on the team was Justice).
Storm has been on the Avengers before as well as The Fantastic Four.

Put Colossus on the Avengers. They’ve never really found a proper muscle replacement without the Hulk, Namor, or Wonderman. She-Hulk should have been heading up a new West Coast team.
Has Storm ever met Shango/Sango in the comics continuity? It seems like a no-brainer to have her interact with a fictionalized version of an African storm god...
I'm not sure on the actual benefit of putting Storm on the Avengers 'A' team will be for the character development as a whole. It's not that she's not powerful, well respected by fans, under used or challenged enough, but over usage does get recognized by longtime fans/readers and development become complicated/sloppy, like eating the same basic oatmeal for breakfast and then having it for lunch and dinner for another year. Putting Storm in an unfamiliar environment like putting on a new outfit for the fans will move some fans over and help sales? Putting her with others as powerful is going to make her value more stand out more? Would it be for rekindled romance or tension between Storm and Panther? Or status of Thor vs Storm? Or female bonding of Capt Marvel, Wanda & Storm which could go Mean Girls versus Regalness (Thor, Panther, Storm). The combination/permutations of Storm/Wanda/Capt Marvel/Black Panther/Sam Wilson can be interesting bringing in Jean Grey, Misty Knight. We'll see what the writers will plan out for Storm.
...or they r trying to boost the Avengers comic series with the recent hype of the X line both in comics and TV.
