Were familiar sight/sound in skies of my youth. Would recognise distinctive metallic whurr of rotor blades from miles off. And the beautiful feminine curvaceousness of fuselage which only the incurably romantic French could design. Vive la Aerospatiale Allouette (Lark) III Eternelle.
When I watched the 40th year anniversary of Memorial Hermann Life Flight, their first helicopter their first mission on August 1st 1976 was an Allouette III.
Incredible french helicopter! still flying as the chetak in india n in mauritius we hv 4 in well maintained condition flying for the police n rescue mission ! first turbine helicopter produce in its category my favourite helicopter forever
Flew in them a couple of times. Even jumped out of one once. Like the bit where they are landing and their replacement is in the background. I get the impression this was their last flight before retirement.
I grew up on the Curragh of kildare ireland and What a familiar sound of the Army Alouette 3 flying near my home ...this brings back fond memories as a kid...
Este es de la época de los helicópteros LAMA cuantas historias para contar de sus misiones de salvamento. Aquí presto servicio al pie del aconcawa un helicóptero formidable
Work horse of the rhodesian bush war. Both as a troop transporter and gun ship when mounted with either a matra 20 mm cannon or 4 barrel .303 browning machine guns. Trooping aircraft has twin .303 machine guns mounted port side. Had the honor of being shot down in one in 1979 and survived with minor injuries. Great Great helicopter. 2 still flying here in the zimbabwe air force.
Great memories of my service in Helicopter Flight as maintenance and SAR crew from 1968 - 1974. Happy times👌👍👏💪
