FYI, if you do not see your second LAN appear in DCHP Server, make sure when you set the static IPv4 address in Interfaces that you select / 24. Gary does mention /24 but didn't explain that the second LAN won't show up in DCHP Server if left to /32.
Hi Gary, If I wanted the 2 networks not to be seen? If I ping from network 2 to network 1 it responds Is there a way to block them from being seen? Thank you
Hey bud. When you configure a second subnet in this manner, how do you make the second lan receive an ipv6 address? I noticed on your interfaces you don't have any ipv6 addresses.
Thank you, much appreciated. You have helped me a lot. I have done this way instead using VIP as VIP was working weird with stateful traffic bw different subnets in my pfsense/VM.
Thanks for the video, I actually stumbled on this after setting up a new port on pfSense already and was looking for instructions on how to set up internet access on the newly created port. Maybe you could clarify that on another video?
@@GaryHTech it’s a LAN port for a second LAN. Think I’ve cracked it. Just needed a catch all firewall rule. Just seemed to take a while before it would work. Maybe still reloading in the background.
Hi Gary, thanks for this video and the one on access and deny between the two LANs. I have got this to work but have been unable to make the second LAN reach the WAN side. Have tried various firewall rules but no luck.Any suggestions. Thanks Wayne

Sir do you build your own pfsense appliance or buy it as it is? I would like to build a 10gbe just like yours. Thank you
Don't forget to allow for new LAN on Rules

Hi Robbie, yeah my ISP doesn't offer any ipv6 so I don't use it, is like to buy until my ISP do there isn't much I can do on that front.

Thank you. Do you have a video where 1 IP on LAN can have access to the whole subnet of OTHERLAN.
Thank you
Hi Patrick, I don't, but stay tuned I may well do that soon as that is what I am doing here :)
Excellent video, May I know what is the difference assigning vlan or direct on the interface?

Hi Matt, thanks for watching, so you set up a new wan port for dual wan or a lan port for a second lan?

Hi Wayne, did you manage to fix your problem?
Thank you for a good explanation.
No firewall? 😊
