Speed D I was watching the video and I was thinking it's a mix between big thunder mt expedition Everest and grizzly river run and I went down to comment and saw this
Speed D The big thunder mountain of Disneyland Paris is awesome, but this is awesome too. Really good job. Florida, Hong Kong and Shangay the 3 park when I go one day.
This looks so fun! It's basically taking the Grizzly Mountain façade from the rapids ride in CA Adventure, the ride concept from Big Thunder Mountain and the ride structure from Expedition Everest and mashing them all together! This looks a lot more fun than Expedition Everest though, a lot faster and more twisty.
Secret thing about this ride : the further back you sit, the scarier it gets I tried riding in the last row and it was so scary but then I got persuaded to go on the first row and it wasn't scary anymore. I guess during the last part, the more front you sit, the less scarier it gets
Thank you so much for this comment! I read this before my family and I visited Hong Kong Disneyland. I found it most useful! My little sister and I rode this several times and used this advice! The best seat is the very last row on the right (My sister and I battled for the seat each time-lol! :D).
I've never rode this before, but the Thunder Mountain in California is the same! The first time I rode it I sat near the front, and it wasn't scary, but the second time I rode it I sat near the back and it felt a WHOLE lot faster.
+XxYamiSamaxX In grizzly it depends on what you want to experience, if you want a stronger backward drop, go for the front; likewise if you want more excitement from the launch back to station, sit at the back
Doesn't look too thrilling or fast but the theme is really good as well as the onride shows, like the bears sparking the TNT, I thought that was really cute. I also like how this particular ride uses technology seen in Expedition Everest and Rock n' Rollercoaster.
I miss this ride so much,we got on in 6 times in total and 4 times in a row.Going backwards was the best, and because we went in November where the weather is much cooler at around 20 degree Celsius it was so awesome feeling the cool air~
Irk i went during June tho it's so fun when we got shot off by the dynamite but when our heads/body got pushed down its was pain and I didn't like it because I hurt my back when I was doing GYM/PE
You have to remember that this is a ride more for children and families. It probably goes about as fast at Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain during those sections, and those rides only go like 25 - 35MPH. The overall ride is probably a bit more "thrilling" than Expedition Everest, but keep in mind it's audience is kids and families.
0:05 - You can see the title of the ride in Chinese. Hong Kong used to be a British controlled colony so there is a lot of English there. Everything is in Chinese and English. In most Asian countries, you'll still see quite a bit of English - it's not that uncommon.
Love the fact that its quite a "long" ride and it has many elements to it, the environment is beautiful and there is a a story line to it. First the bear change the train track when you climb on hill, so it sends you down the mountain, then when it goes up again, the chain lift broke so it sent you falling backward, then at the end in the cave, the 2 bears on top blew the TNT in the cave and catapult and blast the mine train out of the cave. to the everyday coaster rider, this is not scary at all and is a very comforty ride, for the newbies, this is pretty fun and exciting, but the most important is, no matter how experience you are with coasters, this ride will put a smile on your face. coaster doesnt necessarily be super scary or intense to make it worthwide, i personally love this a lot. (still, star wars space mountain is my fav in the park among this, frozen 45 seconds coaster and the toystory U shape coaster)
One of my favorite rides when I went to Disneyland XD when my family went there my dad was really hyped about getting to ride this roller coaster at first I only thought of it as another average roller coaster but then when we got to the end...the last part was awesome I really wasn't expecting that XD I really need to thank my dad for not giving me any spoilers when I asked him why he made such a fussed over the roller coaster X3
@cheryl teo: there are right now 3 operating coasters: Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars built by Vekoma (length: 1,100 m (3,600 ft), RC Racer built by Intamin(length 82 m (269 ft) cause it is just a shuttle one, and then u got Space Mountain what is also built by Vekoma
Man I rode it thrice because it was simply amazing and the waiting time for the ride was minimal ! Easily the most thrilling ride of Disneyland HK along with RC Racer at ToyStoryLand , don't know about space mountain because it was closed when I visited.
Very nice but the blasting part is very very loud...I needed to cover my ears at that part...always. And also sitting at the back is more thrilling and fun.
Basically if Big Thunder Mountain, plus theme of Grizzly River Run and Expedition Everest had a baby. Neat that they tied in the last show scene with the explosions into the last lift hill in Disneyland.
Life hack for the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars remember to lean foward (your head) when it goes up a steep hill (2 times), it's because it will smack your head backwards to the seat (you'll understand when you go on it) and it like hurts a lot XD. Also remember to cover your ear holes when you see the Baby bear press the TNT contraption, because it's like, really, REALLY loud
The front seats are best for the Backwards section as you fall backwards the most if you are in the front so if you love backwards sections on rollercoasters the front is the best seat. The back seats are best for the final launch because you can see the animatronic bears above you fully plus you feel more acceleration quicker.
This ride was hella fun man. That drop where you fall backwards was unexpected, and the launch near the end was some serious shit. Went on this thing like 15 times, no lie. Best fun
How can this be a "ripoff??!!" Disney made both Expedition Everest and this ride! If anything, they took Everest, and improved on it. In fact, other than the ride system, and the trains, there is very little about this ride that is like Everest. The backwards section is totally different, Everest doesn't have a launch, this ride is much more lower to the ground, and the theming is not even close to being the same. So, yeah....
+Izzie A (IzzieMC) you stupid spoiled kid, I had to climb the real fucking everest just to retrieve my friends frozen body. you don't know shit about brave.
WEEEEEE!!!! And loopty Loooop! When appropriate lol! I love everything you do ! Dont stop !!! Thank you! and God Speed!!!! Also I love this ride , As you point out So well ! theres a real since of a story here! seems they keep nailing it! awesome vid sir!
This looks amazing. It doesn't have the big speed and drops like Everest, but it is a longer ride which I like the idea of. I hope the US parks get more rides like this.
I feel like this ride needs to replace the Redwood Creek Challenge at DCA. This is a perfect hand-in-glove replacement as DCA needs more E attractions to compete with Dland. The bear theme is perfect given the fact Grizzly Peak (Grizzly River Run) would be right next door. Make it happen Disney!
Yea, I agree. I think people compare the two because Big Thunder and Big Grizzly have similar name's and they both have Western theme's, but Big Grizzly has a similar track to Expedition Everest.
This looks really good and not in a scary way but in a fun way! I love that backward lift hill and launch! I kinda wish Everest launched. Maybe the Moana coaster will be like this?
This seems to be somewhat similar to Expedition Everest over in Disney World. It has similar vehicles and a similar track style, as well as having switch tracks and backwards sections.
How are you guys so lucky to be able to travel to all these amusement and theme parks? I've been dying to get to Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, it's one of my life goals to travel to every Disney theme park in the world. Haha.
Big thunder, Mountain Railroad + expedition Everest + California screaming/incredicoaster + grizzly Peak + mine train through nature Wonderland = this ride at Hong Kong, Disneyland
This was the best ride in HK Disneyland!!!!!!!
IKR!
Naw Mystic Manor is where it’s at. This is a close second though.
Irk!
Well the Star Wars one was a close second for me
Ikr its so much fun to ride on this disneyland ride
And the queue is soo short
Combination of Big Thunder Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Grizzly River Run.
This needs to be brought to DCA and somehow incorporated with the actual mountain that houses the grizzly River run itself.
This is what would happen if Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain had a baby, then Rock n' Roller Coaster adopted it.
Dominic B best description ever
Add Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Why rock 'n' roller coaster?
RCgaming01 because it has the launch.
ooh! makes sense
This looks so fun! I've never rode this before, but the Thunder Mountain in California is the same! The first time I rode it I sat near the front, and it wasn't scary, but the second time I rode it I sat near the back and it felt a WHOLE lot faster.
+XxYamiSamaxX In grizzly it depends on what you want to experience, if you want a stronger backward drop, go for the front; likewise if you want more excitement from the launch back to station, sit at the back
Natalie Hon it's true I was at the second last seat and it was littt
the dude says "WEEEEEEEEEEE!" every 5 seconds
Doesn't look too thrilling or fast but the theme is really good as well as the onride shows, like the bears sparking the TNT, I thought that was really cute. I also like how this particular ride uses technology seen in Expedition Everest and Rock n' Rollercoaster.
Its faster in person
I miss this ride so much,we got on in 6 times in total and 4 times in a row.Going backwards was the best, and because we went in November where the weather is much cooler at around 20 degree Celsius it was so awesome feeling the cool air~

Dude keep saying weeee. That let's me know it's an enjoyable ride. Forget everybody else.
If I was him I would scream and the person next to me their ears will be bleeding🤣
I went there and tried this last week. It was AMAZING!!

Iohirtiytutss
I rode this yesterday and tbh for a person who gets easily scared like me I actually liked it especially when it went backwards
TPR, don't worry about those people telling you to shut up in the POV videos, just have fun! Glad to see you have a good time.
I ride already and that part that lightning came its super dooper loud then it went too fast is like 90% speed
Yeah that jumpscare by the bears. When you think the reverse was insane nope it isnt
Yeah though I played that many times, I still get startled from the loud bang
I AM BEYOND HAPPY you made this video!! Finally found my favourite POV!
I have rided this and i wanted me to ride it again, cause when i ride it in the past i covered my eyes
I love the way rob says "wheee!" in all the videos.
Love the theme, making sense out of the backward and rapid acceleration part of the ride. It is not very intense, but still has some thrills to offer.
Man I rode it thrice because it was simply amazing and the waiting time for the ride was minimal ! Easily the most thrilling ride of Disneyland HK along with RC Racer at ToyStoryLand , don't know about space mountain because it was closed when I visited.
What a fantastic ride! I love seeing what Disney and Vekoma create together.
That BLAST OFF made me want to ride this when I go back to HK.
Loved this ride so much. Nothing super fast or intense, Just a great ride that everyone can enjoy! Love all the different elements and parts it has.
Very nice but the blasting part is very very loud...I needed to cover my ears at that part...always. And also sitting at the back is more thrilling and fun.
Great take off of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Wish something new like that would come to the US or maybe Paris!
This looks like a really enjoyable ride for kids. Not to fast, not to high! LOVE IT
Why is this so underated?!
+Max Penford not really, it's one of the most popular rides in the park
+cwlukalbert I mean like, in the world
I like this video, I think this is the best I watch and the best video about Disney Land HK and Big Grizzly Mountain Runway Mine Cars
That's one great rollercoaster. Those three tracks next to each other, and all the switchpoints in all directions makes it look very interesting :)
That's A Cool Ride... Love How Its On Ground Level.. Seems Much Faster When Riding
Basically if Big Thunder Mountain, plus theme of Grizzly River Run and Expedition Everest had a baby. Neat that they tied in the last show scene with the explosions into the last lift hill in Disneyland.
This is really awesome. Hong Kong Disneyland really needed this.
Life hack for the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars remember to lean foward (your head) when it goes up a steep hill (2 times), it's because it will smack your head backwards to the seat (you'll understand when you go on it) and it like hurts a lot XD. Best storytelling coaster Ive ever been on!
was on this, it wasn't as smooth as the space mountain. Very very unexpected one!! Love this
best themed ride i've ever seen, i wanna see the layout of this coaster.
you are one of the luckiest people ever, going on all these rides and to all these parks. especially all the disney ones! i'm jealous
one of my favourite rides. Fast and not too intense drops. fun and interesting :) cant wait for more upgrades
This ride was hella fun man. That drop where you fall backwards was unexpected, and the launch near the end was some serious shit. Went on this thing like 15 times, no lie. Best fun
Your almost to a Million subs im proud of you :)
I love this ride! I played it so many times that I even remember the route. It’s not too scary or boring, it’s just right
Oh wow! That looks like a ton of fun! Not the biggest thrill in the world, but I love those heavily themed rides.
How can this be a "ripoff??!!" Disney made both Expedition Everest and this ride! If anything, they took Everest, and improved on it. In fact, other than the ride system, and the trains, there is very little about this ride that is like Everest. It's a nice ride, waited like 30 minutes to get there, I'm glad it was a rainy day I wonder how long if sun would have been shining.
These themed rollercoaster rides are just beautiful! This and the Expedition everest are just so much fun!
I couldn't even go on Everest... ur brave
+Izzie A (IzzieMC) you stupid spoiled kid, I had to climb the real fucking everest just to retrieve my friends frozen body. you don't know shit about brave.
Umm... Ok? Random xD
+Joe Joke
Look, I can't even OK. And... wow... Jeez I'm sorry.... Seriously...
+Joe Joke . oh and I'm not spoiled. I live in a normal house with normal parents etc
I like this ride I love the theme the lunch the lift & the backwards lift 500% good!
I am so jealous!! The ride looks amazing, i want it in Shanghai Disneyland instead of 7 dwarfs mine train...
Big Thunder Mountain + Expedition Everest = This! Love it! :)
lots of fun elements in this, a whole adventure
Wow that's really cool how they've incorporated a backwards drop and a launch section with impressive theming, it would probably look cool at night
I just love themed rides like this one, it adds to the thrill.
Big Grizzly Mountain runway mine Cars & Hong Kong Disneyland Awesome
WEEEEEE!!!! And loopty Loooop! When appropriate lol! I love everything you do ! Dont stop !!! Thank you! and God Speed!!!! Also I love this ride , As you point out So well ! theres a real since of a story here! seems they keep nailing it! awesome vid sir!
Yes, I have been waiting for this video! And it didn't disappoint!
This looks amazing. It doesn't have the big speed and drops like Everest, but it is a longer ride which I like the idea of. I hope the US parks get more rides like this.
I live in hong kong and have been on this, its actually REAALLY super fun!
this is like an epic mix of expedition everest, th13teen and big thunder mountain... TRULY AWESOME!
THE DYNAMITE LAUNCH HURTS MY EARS !!! BUT SERIOUSLY, IT'S ONE OF THE BEST FEW RIDES I'VE EVER WENT ONTO. WENT LIKE, 4 TIMES WITH MY FRIENDS :D
Back seat is the best! Me and friend enjoyed it!
This ride has everything! I like the launch very much :D
Looks amazing. Enough thrill for adults but tame enough for families. Disney really knocked it out of the park on this one.
This ride looks amazing.
this looks amazing! i love all the themeing throughout the ride!

I gotta say, this is much better than Big Thunder Mountain. It took advantage of the explosion narrative.
I rode there once, my mother thought it was a train. While i was on the ride, i bet her arm, she didn't even notice!
This seems to be somewhat similar to Expedition Everest over in Disney World. It has similar vehicles and a similar track style, as well as having switch tracks and backwards sections.
i love all of your guys' POV's. They take me to new and interesting places :)
WHOA THIS LOOKS SO FREAKING AWESOME
That was...amazing. Like a mix between Big Thunder and Expedition Everest. Love it. Too bad I will probably never go here.
How are you guys so lucky to be able to travel to all these amusement and theme parks? I've been dying to get to Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, it's one of my life goals to travel to every Disney theme park in the world. Haha.
This coaster has a power launch, a incline launch, and a splash down. Wow!
This thing looks amazing. It's not a rip off. Both EE and this where made by Vekoma. And they are both in Disney parks.
I rode this during TPR's China Trip this year, and it's everything a Disney coaster should be. It's particularly good after dark, too.
ahh robs wee!!! best part of any TPR video!
wow, this looks better than any of the thunder mountain versions back in the states
this is like Espedition Everest pretty much, I love it 😍
I LUV THAT RIDE IN HONGKONG
Very neat. I like when the international parks have variety, rather than imports of other popular rides. Good, original stuff.
Why did I never heard anything about this roller coaster? OMG It looks awesome!
THIS RIDE LOOKS AMAZING
Big thunder, Mountain Railroad + expedition Everest + California screaming/incredicoaster + grizzly Peak + mine train through nature Wonderland = this ride at Hong Kong, Disneyland
very awesome video! way to go! I felt like I was on the ride lol that just awesome bravo!
This looks awesome. I also love that the name of the company that made the lift hill cable is Never Fail Cable Company.
8:20: it's more similar to Expedition Everest than Big Thunder Mountain.
not even close, just because it goes backwards doesnt make it like EE. Wheres the big hill as a drop?
+k col they compensate the drop with the LIM launch, obviously
Robb Alvey For the win!
Big Grizzly Mountain is Hong Kong Disneyland Version of Big Thunder Mountain
THIS IS THE BEST ROLLERCOASTER I HAVE EVER BEEN ON!!! ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!! :)
Ahhh it's like a mix of big thunder and Everest!!!!
Yo !! Hong Kong . Glad you guys were here
Doesn't surprise me.
Vekoma have made some awesome Roller Coasters in the past.
I think this ride does not get as much credit as it should, this ride is awesome!
Wheee! :D
Looks like a lot of fun! Beautifully-themed, too.
To other commenters, sure it's not extreme, but it still looks like a fun ride. Thanks ThemeparkreviewTPR for bringing these videos to us!
