Saw the movie last night. It was like Phantom Thread mixed with There Will Be Blood. The character of Rose wasn't fleshed out enough if you ask me.
Reading audience reviews of this film on rotten tomatoes, I felt sorry for the people who just didn't get this movie, people calling it slow dull and boring. I can only guess that they heard it was a "western " and then disappointed that there were no guns or such.
One of the best films I have seen.

Benedict is one of the best actors in Hollywood. He's a goddamn chameleon. British actors seem to do that very very well.
The level of thought behind each question for any interview this guy does is amazing. The actors must definitely appreciate it over the cookie cutter "so tell me about your character in this movie" questions they must get throughout the day during the press junket.
Cusps to the interviewer who let Kodi speak and articulate his thoughts and processes. All other interviewers basically dismiss him as he doesn’t have the star powers of the others at this point in time. In fact he is their equal. Thank you to the interviewer who acknowledge this.
Most interviewers I've seen let him fully explain himself as well. Maybe you're talking about just one interviewer?
I literally thought Kodi Smit-McPhee was doing the 'prayer thanks' and holding that meaningful stare for an uncomfortably long time when the screen was frozen. Between The Road and this film - top ten.
What a great interviewer. A breath of fresh air to hear such well thought out questions.

This film is very subtle. One must pay attention. Cumberbash is very believable and Jesse is great.
bitter is a better word. Phil is bitter. I saw it as a happy ending for introverts. Not for Phil. Some people questioned whether Peter liked Phil at some point. You can tell with Kodi's acting that Peter hated Phil. He was just quiet about it.
Thank you for this interview. I loved this film. Every actor sunk deeply into their character. I hung onto every scene. Hollywood needs more movies that approach this caliber. My only regret is that I didn’t see it on the big screen.
Benedict Cumberbatch's "Montana accent" was excellent. He's a wonderful actor.

Just finished listening to the book with the intent to watch the movie tonight. The audiobook was amazing. The ending was such a moment of surprise, horror and mixed emotions. I am so looking forward to the movie.
I will be thinking about the performances and visuals of this film for a long time. Have watched it twice…..and consider it a remarkable cinematic achievement. Wish this excellent interviewer had more time with all the actors. Bravo!
Aside from the characters ... if thats possible, its SO beautiful. So many beautiful beautiful shots. And the MUSIC is perfect.

I didnt chuckle- it was extremely revealing of his true inner nature. He is revealing that he is the hunter, not the hunted in contradiction to his outward appearance or the audience’s expectations
I loved this movie. Theses are my favorite actors as well, a real treat to have them all in the same movie.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance was phenomenal in this movie. It’s unbelievable how different he is from anything he did. I couldn’t see a glimpse of his real self not even any mannerisms or even his walk. It’s like he’s completely changed. He should have definitely won the Oscar.

Director Jane Campion said that Jesse Plemons actually wanted to play "Phil", the Benedict Cumberbatch character.
Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst are a couple off-screen and have two sons together.

The portrayal of the role by benedict is beautiful, if you guys go back to the movie the very first frame of benedict he makes a strong impression to set the tone of his character in the entire movie to follow

Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst have both appeared in superhero movies produced by Marvel. Cumberbatch plays Doctor Strange in the MCU and Dunst has appeared as Mary Jane in Sony's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-07). Also, Cumberbatch is set to co-star in a Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Kodi Smit Mcphee plays as Kurt Wagner aka Nightclawler in X-men trilogy..

Truly amazing movie and casts too 👍👍👍👍. It truly a sad situation because it was in the past they weren't welcome everything had to be hush-hush hidden in the closet. And if it was in today's world it wouldn't matter you know everything would be accepted again truly sad 😓

I was shocked to hear that there was animal cruelty in this movie, especially from Benedict Cumberbatch who always seems to come across as a nice guy. This could be a career killer for him and may even have a negative impact on his upcoming Marvel movie.

Toxic masculinity… I think we used to just call them a-holes.
To sit through this “Dog” movies is like being cast in the doldrums on an 1820s sailing vessel. Great acting , deep and psychological however it is like watching paint dry.
