I play Hawke as sarcastic. Hawke's not a Grey Warden, bound by oath and duty and blood. He's not an Inquisitor, bound by the mark and world and allies. He's just a guy. A normal dude that got dragged into drama, time and time again. To me, coping with all that stress and grief and loss would just be natural for Hawke. I imagine after Leandra's death, though, he'd become more aggressive and angry and bitter.
